HOLY CARP!!!

I read your post a couple of days ago, but was consumed with jealousy, so didn't respond  How will you guys ever agree on one of those destinations? They all sound so exciting, and so different! I've always wanted to go to India, Goa for sure. But a safari....WOW! Good luck, and have fun, with your decision making!

![]() It's not getting anywhere as of yet. Both my mam and dad refuse to go on a safari as they don't think it is safe (rubbish!! Anyhoo - i'm planning on going to Kenya with some of my friends when i finish 6th form so i'll still get to go - just not for another 18 months ). My sister's cruise idea went straight out the window because my mam hates boats and ships (she gets really sea sick). And my dad i so unadventurous that he won't go to Goa. Me and my mam and sister are working at him slowly - hopefully it wont be long til we crack him. He's still adimant (sp??) that we are going to Madeira  but the rest of us want to go somewhere more adventurous and whacky while we can afford it and are still all together (my sister is moving out permanately next year (she'll be finished her Masters and is going down south) and i'll be going to uni so it'll be the last time we are all together )Compromise - it's a difficult skill to master. ![]() x |

Well whatever you do, it's a very cool thing for your family to be doing. As you said, it will probably be the last time you all travel together, so will be a special trip wherever you end up! Maybe you could check out southern Spain as part of the Madeira trip, and at least pop over to Morocco!

If you did go to southern Spain, I would recommend Granada over any other city. It is gorgeous, less touristy than Sevilla, and has a great Arab atmosphere about it.

Yeah, go for the wild trip! If the opportunity is there, jump on it. Besides, you're already in Europe, so it might not have as much an awe-inspiring effect on you as it does on a non-cultured American as mahself

I guess I suggested Spain 'cause that's where I really want to go! I'm making notes, Optimistic! Granada, yes. mp, how about Egypt; vist the valley of the kings, temples, cruise down the Nile (ooops, no boats, I forgot). Hot air balloon over the valley? Of course, having made it that far, you could just pop down to Kenya

Yes, that is true, Caroline; bit of a scary area right now. Glad you're making Africa plans for yourself, good for you! You lucky European types....not having to cross the Atlantic would be so great...the airfare is such a huge part of a trip for us.

Toledo is wonderful. There are tons of wonderful places nearby. Chinchon is neat, El Escorial, everything in Madrid, Valle de los Caidos. I know...you go wherever you want, and I'll go back to Spain! |
