You're right Larry. I wouldn't find your stuff about Kerry being gay humorous, for a couple of reasons. First, I don't think it's true, and for something to be humorous, there's got to be a modicum of truth. All you have to do are two Googles: 1) "John Kerry gay" and 2) "Karl Rove gay", and you'll see the first one brings up three articles on the topic while the second one brings up pages of articles. There's somethin' goin' on there! Second, as I said earlier, I have no particular emotional reponse to Kerry - he's a neutral to me. You can bash him all you want and it is not going to get a rise out of me. So, feel free to laugh at Kerry along with the 3 people who think he's gay. It won't offend me in the least |

Funny.... when you thought Kerry was going to win the presidency, you had all kinds of emotional involvement in regards to him. Shall I take it that your convictions about a person's worthiness for office is directly tied to his party and his current likelihood to win? Like I said - hypocrites. I don't think Rove is gay, either. But just so it's on the record, if he is, it's the lefties who are engaging in gay bashing, not Conservatives. |

I did have emtional investment in Kerry when he was running. Now that he's out of the ring, it's been spent. I suppose you might get me going again with a repeat of the Swift Boat debacle. But even that was not in the least bit humorous - not for the bashers or the defenders. As to Rove, as Kenny pointed out, if he is gay, shame on him, but not for being gay; rather for being in the closet with it while the administration he has helped build goes full steam ahead with its anti-gay agenda. |

Send in the lions ! The Christians are ready ! Isn't it rich? Are we a pair? Me here at last on the ground, You in mid-air. Send in the clowns. Isn't it bliss? Don't you approve? One who keeps tearing around, One who can't move. Where are the clowns? Send in the clowns. Just when I'd stopped opening doors, Finally knowing the one that I wanted was yours, Making my entrance again with my usual flair, Sure of my lines, No one is there. Don't you love farce? My fault I fear. I thought that you'd want what I want. Sorry, my dear. But where are the clowns? Quick, send in the clowns. Don't bother, they're here. Isn't it rich? Isn't it queer, Losing my timing this late In my career? And where are the clowns? There ought to be clowns. Well, maybe next year. |

Kerry was just the example....maybe it's Ted Kennedy...or maybe Hilary is gay...or maybe Obama enjoys children.... It is the politics of personal destruction that you so detest, that you engage in so often... |

I can't imagine a person more deserving more deserving of personal destruction in American politics than Karl Rove. Anyway, the same holds true of your other examples, except for the Obama and children one. That wouldn't be funny IMO about anyone - including Rove. But, then humor is about as subjective a thing as there is, in't it? |

How can being gay possibly destroy a political career? I thought all the bigotry was a thing of the past. |

Your problem is that you equate policy disgreement with hate. Ergo, if the party does not support gay marriage, they hate gays. It wouldn't matter what the party supported, or did not support, you just pick another bullseye, transfer the twisted logic to the mark, and then make the sweeping statement that since the party does not support X, then they hate X. Stupid, and juvenile. |

I thought so. Rove elicits a Pavlovian response from the Left at any mention of his name. The gyrations are actually a bit funny to watch. The problem is, you've pinned the tail on the wrong elephant. You are not losing the political game in this country because of Rove. He's just helping shove you down the chute. It is no more than any decent political operative would do. Keep focusing on him, and you'll lose faster than a three-card monte neophyte. You are losing because your party is morally bankrupt, and bereft of quality leadership on a national stage. You are losing because your party hasn't had an original idea since the miserable failure of The Great Society. You are losing because your party is fractionated by groups that can influence tremendous amounts of prospective legislation, but cannot deliver enough votes at the ballot box to effect a national win. You are losing because most average Americans, whether their collars be white, blue, or pink, think that you no longer have the best interests of the country at large still in your hearts. Lastly, you will lose because you offer no hope. To lead you must first have a destination. Hypocrisy, lack of vision, the endless mind-numbing criticism of all things not of the Left give the American people enough evidence to determine your political spectrum has no destination - at least not a place where the country wants to be. Congressional elections are next year. Everything I've seen, everything I've read, everybody I've talked to, indicate that the GOP will most likely retain control of both sides of Congress. If the country is so fed up with the administration, or the conservatives at large, why isn't there a rush to the Jackasses? Could it be that even a wounded elephant that knows where he is going, is preferred by many to a donkey that doesn't even have a clue he's in the jungle? |

Yup. Chalk it up to six years of accumulating, pent up, frustrated hostility. Seeing Boy Wonder finally squirming is just delicious. Vindication is a sweet dessert. Especially when the object is so beautifully lampoonable. |
