You saw someone that was perhaps not your type, but they did something regarding talent with passion and did it uncommonly well? Let's say they painted beautifully, or played an instrument with uncommon ability and passion. I think I could be swayed by something of the sort. |

I think women are much more prone to "disregarding type" in favor of artistic talent than men are. The Blues Traveler guy probably had way more groupies than Carnie Wilson did... |
| As a good person, I implore you to do as I, a good person, do. Be good. Do NOT be bad. If you see bad, end bad. End it in yourself, and end it in others. By any means necessary, the good must conquer the bad. Good people know this. Do you know this? Are you good? | |

Well, there is the whole "opposites attract" concept - SWMBO & I are very different, with many complementary talents and interests, for example. But OTOH, there still has to be a strong underlying, foundational interest in, and compatibility with the real character of a person if the relationship is going to survive. In other words, You might think a person is a great painter, but you're still gonna get into a lot of fights with him if he won't keep his feet off the coffee table and doesn't take out the trash. |

Funny analogy, but he also has way more talent. |

Random FML: Today, I was fired by my boss in front of my coworkers. It would have been nice if I could have left the building before they started celebrating. No. If they're not my type, then we aren't going to get along. There's a lot more involved in getting through life as a couple than having only an admiration for the other person's talent as the glue that bonds you, and they can only engage that one trick pony for a small % of the total time. The rest of the time, you're stuck having to live and deal with someone that is "not your type". Nice hooters. Those are there 24 hours a day........ (just kidding) |

Yeah, she was on some infomercial. I think I saw John Popper - the Blues Traveler guy - interviewed a couple years ago, and he lost a lot of weight too. Maybe he gained it all back, though. |

I think I she had her stomach stapled? Or something like that. I'm with Ax. I can be attracted to personality, and a sparkling personality can make someone attractive, but talent alone won't do it. |

That explains why band members get all the chicks then. But why that doesn't work for classical pianists is a mystery. |

It's true. If i guy ever played the piano for me i would be his. Even if i didn't find him phsyically attractive there would definitely still be something there, some chemistry. Shame i don't know any guys who play piano!! x |

I meant to qualify what I said earlier. I would find a female much more attractive if she played the piano than if she didn't Now if I can only persuade my wife to play. She won't though, even though we have *that* piano and it takes up so much room and costs so much to maintain, and worst of all, that's she's a natural having got her to play a few things... |
