Jesus?

Okay, that's strike two. Try to keep alive and don't foul out!

What was strike one?

Green Lizards.

Oh man, that was close. Knicked the bat.

Oh. . . .yeah.

I just won't have you extolling the virtues of this poorest examples of British people to our American and Canadian friends. Anyway, I haven't heard you mention any of his good points apart from your bizarre infactuation with him. HE'S GOT CURLY HAIR - THE HUMANITY !!!

I have to agree. The man's appears to be a total knob-head. I suspect most of it's for show, actually. He gets a lot of coverage for someone who talks about cars.
What do you mean "we", have you got a mouse in your pocket?

I googled 'em a little bit. Seems to me, through my limited perspective, that the guy just oozes out douchebaggery.

"You do not just avoid the Suzuki Wagon R. You avoid it like you would avoid unprotected sex with an Ethiopian transvestite."

"Telling people at a dinner party you drive a Nissan Almera is like telling them you've got the ebola virus and you're about to sneeze."

"Speed has never killed anyone, suddenly becoming stationary... That's what gets you."

I loved the above quotes from Mr. Clarkson. I have never heard of him before but these quotes and Phykell's disdain are enough to make me like him already.

He's not funny or witty, he's boorish. He knows his stuff because he's got nothing better to do all day than to learn how to rant with the best of them. Ford GT, yep I'll, give you that one (I've already admitted he has great taste in cars). The Who? Yep, OK. 6'4"? That's just not natural.

Curly hair? On men? Now I've heard *everything*.

A good word, but one that should not be used alongside the word "ooze."

Yes he's *so* funny, the Oscar Wilde of our times perhaps but in reality simply the product of several decades worth of tabloid newspapers, urban decay and a general decline in simple good taste. The man panders to his audience, ranging from spotty teenagers to men undergoing mid-life crises. He insults everyone that he believes its both fashionable and acceptable to insult. Generally speaking, his targets are just about anyone who cares a crap about more than just themselves.

Now as Ricky from Trailer Park Boys' fame would say, I shall now make like a tree and .... ...

The man panders to...men undergoing mid-life crises.

Hey, that's me!

Anyone seen the Pontiac Solstice? Nice looking car but not particularly practical.

Now as Biff from Back to the Future fame would say, I shall now "Make like a tree and get outa here."

He's a Sun-reader*. He thinks that foreigners are all cheats, particularly German racing drivers who beat British racing drivers. There's quite a lot of those :P

*For our American brethren, The Sun is a tabloid newspaper renowned for it's rather extreme, and ill-educated right wing views, particularly with regard to foreigners. A comedian, Jasper Carrot, avoided the charge of racism in telling lots of jokes about stupid Irishmen by telling Sun-reader jokes. The Sun was not particularly amused. Just about everybody else was.

Edit - He is actually occasionally very funny, as noted by Kincaid above. The problem is he tends to repeat the same joke over and over. Actually, I do that...the man's great, I tell you!
