Sounds impressive on the surface... but can you say "peace" in Klingon?

What's your fav star trek series? I'm addicted to the next generation, my dad bought the entire next generation box set in DVD from japan and I've watched them all at least three times each. I like voyager and the original but I'm not a big fan of deep space 9

Let's see... There must be a Klingon word for "war," yes? There must also be a Klingon word for "no," or some other word that can negate another word, yes? If you put the two together, perhaps you can get close to conveying the meaning of the word "peace," yes? Now, try saying Kumbaya in Klingon for extra credit.

ZOOOOOM!

Next Generation, hands down! I mean, c'mon. The Borg are just crazy sick. Even though Jean-Luc is a bit of a nancy. He didn't throw down the way Kirk would. |

Next Generation is good, perhaps the best among all Star Trek spin-offs... but I think Babylon 5 kicks all their asses (well, at least the earlier episodes anyway). |

Hmm, em, er... It's so tough!! Next Generation is legendary but Voyager holds such sweet memories. I don't think i could choose. And don't even get me started on DS9 - it was the biggest pile of horse poop i've ever seen. x |

I'd agree, Ax, but you're right. They went downhill RIGHT quick. |

Sigh. MP, I'm going to have to ask you for a translation via PM again. I got some of the words ("dwell", "goodness"), but didn't quite get some of the other ones, and what I have JUST DOESN'T MAKE SENSE!!! (Or is that what you intended? Hmmm...)BTW, my favorite series was TOS, but my second favorite was DS9. I know I'm in the minority, but I liked the gritty, politically driven stories... seemed much more "real" to me than any of the other series. Of all the captains, Sisko most resembled the military commanders I've personally known; affable yet tough, sensitive when necessary, and truly dangerous when provoked (there's one great scene where he's facing down two hostile Klingon generals... he doesn't even need to raise his voice, but you can see the Klingons are scared to death of him). And of course, Kira Nerys could be my second-in-command anytime (those eyes! those legs! that cute crinkly nose!)...

It was a confusion of ideas between him and one of the lions he was hunting in Kenya that had caused A. B. Spottsworth to make the obituary column. He thought the lion was dead, and the lion thought it wasn't. - P.G. Wodehouse | |
