HOLY CARP!!!
|
So you know that tooth problem i had, well, over the past few days it seemed to be getting much better... Ah no, not so. I woke up this morning and it felt like someone was rubbing a red hot poker backwards and forwards across the gum and as the day has gone on it has gotten progressively worse. I haven't eaten properly since 3.30pm yesterday and i'm SOO hungry but i can't eat anything because of the pain. I attempted to eat today at lunch time but broke down in tears with the pain. Since 7 o clock this morning a have gone through 3/4 of a tube of Bonjela and your not supposed to put on more than 5cm of it per day. And although it's taking the pain away it is giving me a THROBBING headache but nothing compared to what my mouth was like. So i got home about and hour and a half ago and tried to liquidize some bread and cheese (don't try it - it's really not nice) and my dad came in to find me in the kitchen drinking liquidize mush through a straw whilst wincing in agony and in a paranoid state that i had an abcess and that if i didn't get it seen to the poison would kill me (ok, i know - that was slightly extreme - but i was in a lot of pain and rather hysterical). He phoned the dentist straight away and they had closed until monday morning so he phoned the local GP but the surgery was closed. They said they would call the on-call doctor to see if he could come over so we should phone back in ten minutes so that she could call him. So we waited and then phoned back. The women that answered said she didn't know who had taken our first call so she took our phone number and said she would find out what was happening and get back to us. So we waited. And waited some more. Finally my dad got fed up of waiting so he phoned back the surgery and it was the first women we spoke to and she said that she had spoken to the doctor and that there wouldn't be anything he could do so i should get the number of the emergency dentist and go to them. So we phoned back the dentist and got the emergency number from the answer machine and called it. The nearest emergency surgery is Blyth which is MILES! away from us and they aren't answering the phone so there's nothing we can do. My dad has bunged my full of tablets to take away the pain and has made me some home made soup which i am currently drinking through a straw and is going to take me across to the Dental Hospital in Newcastle first thing in the morning, God love him. The tablets aren't working and i can hardly open my mouth because it hurts so much. And i know - i should have gone to the dentist straight away when it first started hurting but i thought it seemed to be getting better so i didn't go. ![]() ![]() I know i'm being whingy but i don't care. It really hurts. ![]() x |

I feel so stupid. My mam has wrapped a scarf around my head because she thinks i need to keep the area warm to stop the muscles seezing up again. So i'm sitting here watching Emmerdale all itchy from this big woolen scarf she has wrapped around my face. Plus i just threw up. I think it was a combination of Bonjela overdose and pain. ![]() x |

You need to see the emergency Dentist. And you need to not take too much medication. I've had an abcessed tooth, and the pain doesn't go away, or get better. Hope you get in to see someone soon. Jodi

HOLY CARP!!!

What a morning. My dad took me across to the City General Hospital in town this morning and we got there to find that the dental emergancy unit isn't open on weekends. HOW THE HELL CAN IT BE AN EMERGENCY UNIT IF IT IS ONLY OPEN WEEKDAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So we went into AandE and my dad explained what had happened and how we couldn't get to the dentist or the emergancy unit til monday so the doctor said he would have a look at it. So i waited for an hour and a half and finally got seen to. He said that there is definitely something wrong which isn't necessarily an abcess but he couldn't diagnose 100% so i have to go see a dentist. DOES HE THINK I DON'T ALREADY KNOW THAT!!!! ![]() So now i have to wait til monday morning til i can get this properly sorted out. He gave me something for the pain and swelling so it isn't as bad. Eugh! This is the National Health Service for you! x |
