I am so adjective that I verb nouns!
I wonder if you will actually sustain less damage to yourself and your car the more you accelerate into the object (assuming the object has proportionally less mass than you do).

There is a principle in martial arts that moving into an oncoming punch or kick is more easily absorbed than moving away from it. That takes a lot of training, however.
The dogma lives loudly within me.

I find birds especially challenging!  Almost ran me down a seagull a day or two ago; had he not swerved at the last second I would have at least clipped a wing...

:lol2: I dang near got me a bicycle courier the other day; just didn't see him coming! :leaving:

Yeah, I've heard of that. You need to be hit by the blow before it "snaps".

I know I accelerate when I see highway rodents!

EDIT

Oh sue, that's nothing to be ashamed about! Bicycle couriers are 15 points!

Yeah, that and joggers. But the real points lie in school children walking single file, or tour groups. Y'know, kind of like bowling.

Oh dear...

We had one come right onto Main and jump thru the barbershop window and become ensnared in a barber chair. It was quite the event with police cars, ambulances and two fire trucks. :D
it behooves me to behold

I'd be willing to bet this was also a male, and it was spring. Gotta get spruced up for the babes.

tour groups? all looking at their maps and scratching their heads? nah, that's too easy; no sport in that at all.

I think you may have something there, IT...it's how offensive linemen work. So...are you going to speed up when you see that deer in your headlights?

Get away from that cliff, I s'pose. Why would a deer be hangin' out around the cliff's edge anyways, was he thinking of jumping? In that case, hitting him might be doin' him a favor.

This is what happened to my friend Charles' car when he swerved to miss a beaver.

Lesson? Don't swerve.

As he moved to get out of the way, his tires hit some dirt on the side and that sent him spinning into a tree. Good thing it hit the passenger side! (No one was hurt)

Now Kenny, I've heard that deer freeze when they see a car or SUV about to hit them.

But I've heard they actually LAUGH when a hybrid is about to hit them.

Glad to hear it wasn't you 89- I've never been one to avoid colliding with a beaver either when the proud and noble creature crosses my path. ;)

The problem with having an open mind is that people keep trying to put things in it.
