ZOOOOOM!

You know it! When what I play from the sheet music just doesnt sound right, I'll use Finale to double-check. I've heard that's a bad learning tool since it's a bit of a crutch, but whatever, I'm no Beethoven. I'll take the help. |

Well the software is expensive as carp, so I'm looking to see if it's worth it. I'm also looking at those "cheap software" sites, if they are legitimate enough. I figure it's a good way to compose a nocturne or sonata that I can't play, but sounds good. I'll leave the hard playing to someone else!

Finale Printmusic is not expensive and may do what you need. Finale is the full up do everything version. Also try the free Finale Notepad, it's pretty good for a free program. |

I have it and use it a lot. The learning curve is kinda steep, like the price. But it's not too bad. Do you have a keyboard you can plug into your computer? That makes data (note) entry much, much easier. If you decide to go the scan route, note that the vendor doesn't recommend HP scanners. Believe them.
