I am so adjective that I verb nouns!
BTW, we saw Capote the other night -- I was reminded since Harper Lee is one of the characters. Excellent movie -- and it should win Philip Seymour Hoffman an Academy award nomination.

I love it!

And Caroline, you're missing a great piece of American cinema history - that's from "To Kill a Mockingbird," circa 1962-ish (?). To know Atticus (even more so from reading the book) is to get substantially within my own head.

I have the book on my bookshelf somewhere (though finding it amongst the GAZILLION books we have could prove an issue :) ).

I'll try and hunt it down and give it a whirl if it's good.

I've started doing that with my glasses again - must need to stop by the optician's for a quick adjustment or two...

One of the secondary reasons I picked that avatar a thousand years ago, is that at the time, my eyeglasses needed adjusted - they kept slipping down my nose. And I just never got around to stopping by and getting them adjusted. Since it got annoying, and especially since at that time, I wasn't wearing bifocals, I would often just push them up onto my forehead, like in that picture, just to get them out of the way. When I got a new prescription, and a better fitting, I didn't do that anymore. But now, they're slipping down my nose a little again, and with the bifocals now, I can't be as cavalier about whether I'm looking through the glasses or not.

MP, that is my favorite book and if you'll go back to the "favorite book" threads...it's consistently listed as a favorite book, more than any other book I've seen.

The movie is also top of the line, one of the best ever.

AND Atticus is one of the, if not THE, greatest characters ever. To aspire to be like him in life and in parenting is a fine goal. One I would hope to pursue as I get older.
