Actually, I've known about it for a long time...

About 20 years ago, my dad recorded some original tunes of his on an old digital audio station, and he's recently had them put to CD. I vaguely remember listening to them when I was very young, but I rarely got to hear them in their entirety, as the tape was getting pretty old and my dad didn't have a backup copy.

The recordings were done on a Roland RD-300 keyboard with a Roland MT-32 sound module. I can't recall the sequencing software he said he used; something for Atari, I believe.

My dad's first instrument is (was) guitar, but he knew just enough about keyboards to get by. Taking that into account, I think the tunes are pretty good! I know I love them, anyway.

I'm going to post a few when I get them uploaded to my web space.

*sigh*

It doesn't look like I'll be able to share them. Boo.

I'll admit, these recordings gave me a whole new way to look at him. He'd told me so much about his years as a guitarist, but had never heard any of his work. I'm going to work on getting them up, if I can.

Keep trying, NAK. I wish I had some recordings of my father playing.
