HOLY CARP!!!
When they go to the beach or swimming pool, they should have to wear bikinis (and flat girls shouldn't).

Right?

I am so adjective that I verb nouns!
GEORGE: My father opened his shirt...

JERRY: Yeah, and?

GEORGE: (nods to Kramer) Tell him, Kramer.

KRAMER: (matter of fact) He had breasts.

George nods, Jerry has a confused expression. Kramer keeps on eating. Jerry
thinks for a moment, George can't even look anyone in the eye.

JERRY: What d'you mean, breasts?

GEORGE: (waves his hands) Big breasts!

JERRY: So what? A lot of older men have that.

KRAMER: No, not these. These were real hooters.

Jerry pulls a face at the thought.

GEORGE: I was throwing up all night. It was like my own personal Crying Game.

KRAMER: Well, maybe you're gonna get 'em too, George.

GEORGE: (worried) Yeah, that's right. What if it's a genetic thing, like father
like son?

JERRY: But, your father's not bald.

GEORGE: No, no no. That skips a generation. The baldness gene comes from your
grandfather.

JERRY: Then I suppose the bosom gene comes from your grandmother.

George snaps his finger and points, in agreement with Jerry. He continues to
look deeply worried.

KRAMER: You know, Frank can't be too comfortable with those things clanging
around. He should wear something for support.

GEORGE: You mean like a bra?

KRAMER: A bra is for ladies. I'm talking about a support undergarment
specifically designed for men.

JERRY: Boy, that brain never stops working, does it?

The dogma lives loudly within me.

Kenny, you'll need a really big "support undergarment specifically designed for men" for those melons.

:shifty:

Actually, this brings up another question.

Guys can stroll around in public topless and all the ladies stare. No big deal. Sometimes, it's even encouraged.

Girls take off the shirts in public, and they're publicly humiliated. Definately not cool.

So why is it OK for guys to bare their chests in public but it's humiliating and wrong for women to do so?

Is it the size? Why isn't it OK for a girl with a flat chest to go to the beach without a shirt/bikini and it's alright for a guy with huge breasts to go wearing nothing but a tight speedo?

Is it about sexual modesty? Why aren't we worried about gay guys staring at topless men at the beach?

you know the answer pj. It's mainly, if not strictly, a cultural thing.

I grew up in the US culture and personally like modesty but certainly not prudishness. In any case, I like leaving something to the imagination. I find it more attractive than revealing the mystery right from the start.

Come to Ontario, PJ. Women going topless here is legal.

Of course, not a lot of women do it just strolling down the street (though on really hot days, you'd see it occasionally in Toronto). There's still a cultural issue with it, of course, since it's a relatively new law (passed within the last 10 years).

But yeah - the "modesty" is definitely a cultural thing. No way would I walk down a public street with no shirt on, and I wouldn't call myself prudish in other respects. Of course, if another woman is comfortable doing so, more power to her.

I disagree. If she does it in a community where it's common and therefore won't offend people's sensibilities, fine. Otherwise, it's inconsiderate ot others feelings.

One thing that used to irritate me was a time ago when some "emancipated" women were breast feeding in public. I personally couldn't care less.

But I would give them a disapproving (actually a disgusted) stare if it were an in-your-face kind of gesture. Same goes for other self-serving in-your-face behavior that offends the average person in that community. Boy do I despise people like that. (feigned anger. as usual. )

Frank:

You were just pointing out how you wants to restrict certain behavior due to cultural norms, and yet you feel that promoting homosexual marriage against cultural norms is somehow fine. So its just the World according to Frank? Or do you have some sort of internal logic?

You also attack the Catholic world view, yet it is every bit as defensible as your own take on things -- what makes you such an expert on how people ought to act?

Sounds like you're just having a pissy day -- I'll buy you a beer as well. :D

What I want to know - why is it ok to show African women's breasts on TV but not white women's?

Turn on the National Geographic channel, and you're likely to see a hundred black women walking around, all ages, sizes, and shapes, wearing nothing from the waist up. But if they do a show on topless beaches in Brazil or somewhere, they won't show them.

Is there some rule that says titties on African women don't count?

Geez, Ivory. About time you showed you know me by now. :)

BTW, as a clue, my tirade to you was actually an attempt to bait someone else (guess who) into thinking those were valid arguments. (Do you really think I thought they were?? They're hollow cliches.)

I know I might get people dizzy here when I play these games but they are really to have fun that's all. Things you can do online, you can't do offline.

BTW, although the anger was feigned (as i indicated) I really do get irritated at that kind of inconsideration of other's feelings. ( I mean the braless thing here.)
