HOLY CARP!!!
Spoilers. And if you haven't read the book and are concerned about spoilers, why the heck are you here, anyways?

More proof of my Harry the Horcrux theory.

From Order of the Phoenix (oops! Thanks jgoo!), as Harry is describing the snakes attack on Mr. Weasley.

Quote:

[Dumbledore speaks:] "I mean...can you remember - er - where you were positioned as you watched this attack happen?  Were you perhaps standing beside the victim, or else looking down on the scene from above?"

This was such a curious question that Harry gaped at Dumbledore; it was almost as though he knew...

"I was the snake," he said. "I saw it all from the snake's point of view."

Nobody else spoke for a moment, then Dumbledore, now looking at Ron who was still whey-faced, asked in a new and sharper voice....

AND, also from OotP

Quote:

The instrument tinkled into life at once with fhythmic clinking noises.  Tiny puffs of pale green smoke issued from the minuscule silver tube at the top.  Dumbledore watched the smoke closely, his brow furrowed.  After a few seconds, the tiny puffs became a steady stream of smoke that thickened and coiled in teh air...a serpent's head grew out of the end of it, opening its mouth wide.  Harry wondered whether the instrument was confirming his story: he looked eagerly at Dumbledore for a sign that he was right, but Dumbledore did not look up.

"Naturally, naturally," murmered Dumbledore apparently to himself, still observing the stream of smoke without the slightest sign of surprise. "But in essence divided?"

Harry could make neither head nor tail of this question.  The smoke serpent, however, split itself instantly into two snakes, both coiling and undulating in the dark air.  With a look of grim satisfaction, Dumbledore gave the instrument another gentle tap...

Harry saw the attack from the first person point of view because he shares a bit of soul with the attacker. Nagini is a Horcrux, and the imagery above is showing the division of the souls between Nagini and Harry.

Thoughts?

[Umbridge] Hem-hem [/Umbridge]

Both of those are from OOTP, Dol, not GOF. :)

Anyway, I think that Lord Voldemort was possessing Nagini (or, he was in animagus form? I bet he's a snake animagus!) and Harry was just having one of his dreams where he could see what Voldemort was up to, only this time he WAS Voldemort (well, kind of). Good thoughts though. Of course, as Dumbledore would say, at this point it's all just guess work. :)

I want to know what Dumbledore meant by "In essence divided." And I hope that it hasn't already been answered because I missed it!
Death is simply a shedding of the physical body like the butterfly shedding its cocoon. It is a transition to a higher state of consciousness where you continue to perceive, to understand, to laugh, and to be able to grow.

It's the "In essence divided" thing that got me. I'd bet my life that it's a reference to Volde's soul. That line doesn't really make any sense if we're just talking about Harry seeing things because Volde was posessing a snake.

The snake also went through a whole thought process about how he had a job to do, and he wasn't to kill anyone. it's only after Arthur awakes that the snake has no choice but to strike. That thought process wouldn't occur in Voldemort. I'm betting it was Nagini.
