Doesn't help much for the ones born in the UK, like most of the bombers on 7/7. |

True. However, those that engage in hate speech that can be deported should be shown the door. And sadly, as long as the situation is volatile, perhaps further immigration from those countries should be discouraged. |

It can't hurt. It is, in effect, a state of war. It can't be business as usual. |

I agree, Jolly, at least with your first sentence. |

Think of what FDR and Wilson did...if we restricted immigration, it would be nothing in comparison! |

Interesting topic. But I think I'd prefer wading into it after I have a little more information and find out what the rest of you have to say. |

I say deport all foreigners, refugees, landed immigrants or naturalized citizens who insist on bringing unwanted cultural or social baggage from their homeland into North America. |

To echo Jon, these people were British citizens, it would make no difference whatsoever. I watched a program on telly last night about British muslims that host websites supporting video links to islamic terrorist propaganda videos, as well as those horrendous execution videos that came out of Iraq. This attitude is woven into our society. Our Prime minister cannot even begin to put a number on the number of people living here illegally. I don't want to live in a country that turns people away just because of the attitudes of a few a**holes. And this is as much a 'state of war' as when the IRA were bombing us, and I don't think closing our borders to Ireland was ever considered This chap has a better solution. While I don't agree with everything he says (like Koranic punishments being "almost never applicable". They are grossly anachronistic and barbaric). And at the same time I don't expect everyone that lives in Britain and follows the Islamic faith to wear a bowler hat and have a picture of the Queen on their toilet seat. Its just that the debate needs to be opened up and people need to be less afraid to speak out. http://news.independent.co.uk/people/profi...ticle301486.ece |
