HOLY CARP!!!
|
As I don't have a car this afternoon, and since it's a nice day, I decided to walk to my piano lesson. It's 85°, 75% humidity, and brilliantly sunny, and my piano teacher lives about 4 miles away. But it's a nice day. So, I packed my books and a nice 20 oz. bottle of water, and set out at 2:50 for my 3:30 piano lesson. I made it about half-way before I ran out of water. I was hot, sweaty, and quite likely smelly. I didn't think my teacher would appreciate my showing up at her door sweaty and smelly for my 2-hour piano lesson, so I turned around and went home. (Especially since I'm not paying her for this lesson... I'm paying for a 1-hour lesson every Thursday (which always ends up being closer to 2 hours), and she's volunteering to give me free 1-hour lessons every Sunday (which also end up closer to 2 hours)) I got home 5 minutes late for my lesson, soaked to the bone, and quite likely very unpleasantly stinky. Needless to say, I called my teacher to reschedule, and then I jumped in the shower. I think I'm going over soon, but I won't walk this time. Ah, the silly things we do in our youth! |

Just go there and play with overdramatic body movement. The sweat will add effect (Shine, anyone?). |

Oh goodness. I just called my teacher, and she said she'll just DRIVE over to my house for the lesson. I guess I have to clean up around the piano, which is VERY MESSY...

Actually, she drove me over to her house. It was only an hour and a half lesson, probably because I butchered the Grieg Nocturne. But my Bach and Beethoven were good.

he he sounds like something I would do. I'm still plagued with delusions of invincibility, but I guess that will go away eventually. Wow I'm glad to hear that it's messy all around your piano too! heh, I actually posted a picture of the sad state of my piano somewhere on the PW quite some time ago. I thought it was pretty impressive anyway. he he I hate it when I butcher things at my lesson. It's like "okay.. I know that was sad. Just give me an F and send me home" what Bach and Beethoven are you working on? |

I'm working on: • Beethoven Sonata No. 6 in F Major, Op. 10 No. 2 • Bach Prelude and Fugue No. 10 in E Minor, WTC I • Bach 2-Part Invention No. 10 Actually, what I played really well was the 1st movement of the Beethoven (and the 2nd movement, but I've only been working on that for 4 days) and 2 Bach Inventions (1 and 8). |
