I downloaded some anti spy and virus protection from Yahoo and now Microsoft Word (office) is messed up. I had changed my operating system from ME to XP and they guy who did it reloaded Microsoft office from a disc he owned onto my computer to supplement the home version of the word processor that comes from XP. Additionally when XP was put on the the CD writer that came with the computer wasn't compatible with XP so it doesn't work.. Question.. should I buy WORDand a CD writer (and additional RAM) or take it back to the guy who put the WORD on it last time and have him reload it, (i'd have a professional either way do the hard stuff) Word seems to be missing a bridge to XP - it's about 70% there and minicrashes every time I use it.. or just buy another whole computer? |

I Owe It All To John D'Oh

It depends on your system, how old it is, what you use it for, that sort of thing. The student edition of Microsoft Office (which is really the full version of Word, minus a few business-level features, plus Excel and some other things) can be obtained at Costco for under $100. |

Quirt speaks the truth here. Go get the student version. You have students. |

About the macs... i love them.. I miss mine. however. this is a business computer and we transfer many photos and scanned files and pdf documents and rely heavily on email file transfers.. How will a Mac perform when everyone else has Microsoft. I know I have trouble sharing files with my MAC brother. I'm temporarily fixing this baby.. thanx for the student office tip.. i just need to get a new Cd reader drive (improper term probably) |
