All else aside, I'm intrigued by the notion Kenny seems to have been making that unless he is able to "marry" as heterosexuals do (which of course under current definitions he can't, so he wishes to change the definition) then he wont be happy. THAT'S what I don't get.

I would assume it's because everywhere he would go, he would see the public recognition of marriage as a slap in the face. That is, that his relationship with his boyfriend wouldn't be as legit as other male/female marriages....under the current definition.

The problem is that people like me agree that marriage shouldn't be re-defined.

If people could focus on being kind, loving and compassionate human beings instead of someone's sexual preference, this world would be a much better place.
I don't get it.

What? Are you daft?

Can you imagine where would that get us?

No intolerance. No judgementalism. No bigotry. No "My-moral-values-are-better-than-your-moral-values-so-you-don't-deserve-to-be-my-equal-and-besides-you're-going-to-hell."

What sort of world would it be if we actually celebrated and supported everyone's love and commitment to someone else rather than pontificating on which is the right kind of love and commitment and which is the wrong kind?

Jeez! Get with the program!

So do think that your moral values are better than mine?

Or, if they are all equally valid, what is the point of pontificating about anything? I just don't get it.

Rick, everytime a gay person says that he thinks I'm wrong for standing for traditional marriage, he is saying that his morals are more correct than mine.

It's a two way street only turned hypocritical upon their protest.
