Exactly. As long as they give me the raised dots on the F and the J, I'm all good. I'm usually sitting here in the dark while I post, so I'm used to going by feel. |

Very nice. It looks very similar to the original IBM AT keyboard, the one with micro-switches for each key as well. In fact looking at it, it's almost identical. I should know as I'm using one right now! They are without doubt the best keyboards and a must for anyone who also plays piano. They have a fantastic action and of course they are ultimately reliable having no naff rubber membrane to go faulty. My typing speed is optimised using my current keyboard and I was lucky enough to get several for nothing as the machines they were paired with, became obsolete and were to be thrown out. Most of them work just fine with standard PCs but others can be modified if necessary. Not sure about the lack of lettering on the one linked though, but it does look nice One immediate flaw I can see is that it looks like it's modelled on the UNIX workstation version not the AT PC. You can spot this by looking at the shape of the return key - it's just a straight bar on that one. The IBM AT PC keyboard has an inverted L shape like most standard PC keyboards. A minor issue perhaps, but makes it all too easy to type backslashes instead of CRs!

Ahhhh... Das Keyboard. I haven't seen that ad in awhile (I must be an übergeek). how about trying that keyboard, with a new, more efficient keyboard layout? ![]() Using genetic algorithms to "evolve" a better, more efficient keyboard layout than "QWERTY" |
