Well, I said I would, and I finally did.

I can't say I'm all that happy with the results. Perhaps I just listen too critically, but I can't help but think I play these preludes so much better when I'm not freaking out that there's some sort of "permanent" recording going on.

three bach preludes to make you laugh

which link isn't working? I'm able to link from this thread to the page, and to load the links on the page...

Ok... last post pad I promise.

I changed the links on the page now... I was experimenting with my newly found javascript skills to open a new window to play the music...and while it was working for me, it obviously wasn't for you... so try it now (though you'll have to use your back button to navigate back to the page).

KB. I get the same thing...

Try these...

Bach Prelude 1

Bach Prelude 2

Bach Prelude 21

P.S. Just took a listen. DAMN.. You're good!

P.S.S. I viewed your link source to get the links. :D

thank you very much Improv... I'll try to believe that was serious! :)

They should be working now... I changed the code in the page (that's most likely what you just viewed improv)

Sorry... I promise not to play with javascript anymore for those of you STILL using IE6. :P

Bravisimo!

I here those preludes around 10 times a week. Especially the first. I think I can consider myself something of an above average critic of these pieces, and I think you did great. I enjoyed listening to them. Now your recording skills, however, What were you using? I wasn't getting much of the depth of sound, and I know it wasn't the Sauter fault!

The problem with having an open mind is that people keep trying to put things in it.

Yes. Very serious. Nicely done.

All three were great. I liked the 21 the best. I'll start calling you *lightning fingers* from now on. :D

(I rechecked your link under IE6 and it works now)

He saved it using 56kbs. That's what... like AM radio quality. KB, try saving it up around 128 or 192 kbs and see if it sounds better.

I've got 4 megabit broadband and don't care about file sizes anymore. :D

Well, I recorded these mostly just to see if it could be done! :)
I know they're low quality right now, but also didn't want to suck a lot of bandwidth if 9000000 people click through! *snicker... sorry bad joke*.

I may try to put them up at a higher bitrate and see what the size is like relative to quality.

Luke's Dad always has something to complain about. If it isn't my playing, it's hy hack-recording-job.
geez...

Thanks I think Ivory...

I know everyone around here is excited to use the words "self deprecating" recently ... but I'm not trying to pass some bull puckey here.

I really don't have much confidence in my abilities sometimes as a performer (not a player). I thank you for your compliment though, and will try to cut out the self-deprecating-bull-puckey in the future.

Thanks Ivory, it is hard for me to take compliments sometimes. I really do appreciate it though.

I will try to post more as I get it recorded. I started on the Liszt Sonata yesterday, and have my work cut out for me! :)

I think I'm like you...I'd rather play with no one around, but from the sounds of it you are quite the social performer! Very clear and clean notes too btw! :)

Enjoyed them very much, KB, especially No. 21. And even if the recording is not the highest fidelity, the qualities of the instrument come through. It seems to have a larger fundamental vs. harmonic content or maybe its the mix of harmonics compared to instruments I'm accustomed to hearing. It enunciates the notes in a very clear distinct fashion.

Very nice, KB. You should record some more of those.

There is a line we cross when we go from "I will believe it when I see it" to "I will see it when I believe it".

When someone posts a recording, it's great...sorta brings us all outta politics, religion, current events, and back to the whole reason we originally found this place...

...we love to play the piano. A truly universal language.

Thanks again KB, and keep 'em coming! :)
