HOLY CARP!!!
Yippee

I'm waiting for permission from Axtremus to post his email, which includes background information, ordering info and a few MP3 samples.

Dang
There are some great players :hair:
Now I think I should have used ProTools to fix my mistakes.
:veryangry:
And maybe waited a few decades before recording.

It is a 2 CD set.
One CD of music.
Another CD of Pics and info from the arteeeests.

Ax expects it may not even break even, so I'm gonna make a nice donation for the cause.

A copy is going to the Library of Congress.

My earlier understanding was that the CD would be available through PW. Can someone confirm if this is correct? I'm looking forward to finally being able to buy it.

HOLY CARP!!!
I just looked around PW and didn't see it for sale yet.
I'm not speaking for Frank, PW's owner, but I'm sure it will be there soon.
It is their project.

Keep in mind I posted this advanced notice right when I heard from the Axtremus, who is doing apparently managing this project for Frank.

Here is a quote from Axtremus's email:
"Piano World (Frank) will publish the link to the web page that takes order for the CD."

Thanks for the plug, Kenny. :)

One clarification:

The 2-disc set contains one Audio CD and one Data/MP3 CD.

The Audio CD is your plain old regular CD that you can pop into any CD player and play. It has 70+ minutes of music on it.

The Data/MP3 CD contains a whole lot more -- 4+ hours of MP3-compressed music by your fellow PW artists, plus text and pictures by the a number of artists talking about their music, their pianos, and themselves. :)

The Data/MP3 CD would need to be accessed with a computer or possibly a CD player that has MP3 capability. All the MP3 files are put in one directory on the disc -- convenient for people to load everything up to their music juke box software (e.g., iTunes) and MP3 player (e.g., iPod). ;) :D

Frank (Piano World) will soon publish the web address where people can go and place order to buy the CD. (He may still be making some final touches for the web page or something.)

Ax, can you post a thread here when the PW address is announced? I'd love to get one!

Also, what's the history of this PW CD?

I came in October of 2004, but by then the project was up and running. Who decided who got to preform for it? Who decided the pieces? Are they really good quality? Basically, all the info regarding the project...thanks man!

Anyone who wanted to submit a recording could do so, and they were the ones who decided what they were going to submit. Once the idea of the PW CD came, Ax volunteered to run the show for us (thanks Ax! :thumb: ).

You may still be able to hear a sample of what will be on the CD via the Piano World uploader.

This is Volume 1.

That must mean you can practice up for Volume 2.

Ax, is Vol 2 a sure thing?
