Jodi,

I think that this is an astute observation. Its somewhat like a large family. Lots of different opinions and conflict, but when push comes to shove, the love is there.

Oh, I think a lot of us roll in there now, and then. I usually drop by about once a week, or so, for sh*ts and grins.

Can't take too much, though....I read about 3 of JA's silliness, and I get the urge to go clean my guns. :puke:

Larry, I believe it was me that asked if she really believed the Iraqis were self-governed before we came in. The answer was yes, they were because the brutal repressive regime in place was made up of Iraqis. Wow.

It is interesting that JA posted (thread was Sleeping with the Devil) an article discussing the recent primary in my district for the House seat left vacant by Rob Portman. The analysis presented was that the result of the election, the leftmost Republican candidate, winning the primary ampounted to proof that the evangelicals were running the party.

When I refuted it with firsthand knowldge and told the real story, he simply walked away, to start another leftist harrangue elesewhere.

When those two post, I echo your sentiment of not knowing whether to laugh or cry.

Well, I appreciated your contribution based on first-hand (or is it second-hand?) knowledge about the DeWine situation, Mikhailoh. It's always better to have more facts, and you added several.

I don't know for sure. I think it's the "train wreck" syndrome....

WTF is a thriving forum. There's no train wreck there. Which train wreck are you referring to?

You went over there using your typical bully in the playground style, and were moderated. That's what your real objection is, and don't pretend otherwise.

It's bad form to malign one forum in another forum, and to talk about post there here. It makes you look small minded - especially when your forum is like a bad Helen Keller joke (there I broke my own rule).

STFU about WTF.

The founding of the bulk of the world's nation states post 1914 is based on self-defined nationalisms. The bulk of those national movements involve territory that was ethnically mixed. The foundation of many of those nation states involved population movements in the aftermath. When the only one that is repeatedly held up as unjust and unjustifiable is the Zionist project, the term anti-semitism may very well be appropriate. - P*D

How did Helen Keller break her right arm?
...she tried to read a stop sign going 40 MPH.

How did she burn the right side of her face?
... she answered the iron.

How did she burn the left side of her face?
... they called back.

Thanks for lightening the mood in here Phlebas! :) great idea!

A question, Phlebas:

How would you know what Larry's forum is like?

For all I know, it's multicultural, pluralistic, tolerant, and has 100 times the posts of this place and WTF added together. I never go there. Actually, I've clicked on a link by Jolly a couple of times, but that's it. So I have no experiential knowledge what it's like.

Is your experience base with respect to Larry's forum different than mine?

Do you mean you dreamed about "you" in the collective sense, or were you speaking to me directly? 'Cause if you were speaking to me directly, as Stainweggie might say.....

I don't know for sure. I think it's the "train wreck" syndrome.... plus, every once in awhile you get a real gem of a statement, such as the one about the Iraqis being "self governing" before we took out Saddam......

That one had me laughing all day long......

Usually though, I can't decide whether to laugh of cry......

Now you know what I feel like when talking to Phlebe!!!

You couldn't ask for a more perfect situation when debating semantics than for someone to suggest another dictionary and for it to prove them wrong as well.

...yes, i am rubbing this in your face Phlebe. Since you aren't accepting your defeat. :sombrero:

Why did her dog jump off the cliff? You would too if your name was mraghfroaidjkh. (Best when spoken out loud!)

I used to fall on the floor on the "they called back" punchline. :hat:

Nah, I just found some very obvious faults in your jokes and felt like pointing them out. It's not like I read them and started thinking critically about them to find the faults. lol.
