How long have you been with us?; AKA When did you first register at PW?

Like Jodi Dan and a few others, in this thread, I drifted in from the old Pianoworld forums when the board was revamped. I was on the old board for about a year or so before that, I believe. I found Pianoworld while searching for info on buying an acoustic piano when we changed our home piano from digital to acoustic. Been hooked on PW and the cast of characters in it ever since.

Sadly, I haven't posted much in PW since the demise of the CR. Seems to be a whole different set taking over there now, especially dealers setting their own agendas when advising newbies.

I'm having the same trouble. I peek in ever so often to see what's happening and find myself having less and less to say and not I'm not saying anything. For me it's not worth the arguments and the spinning makes me dizzy.

What's interesting (though someone may have already discovered this) is that if I go into my profile and click on "view my recent posts" it brings up links to coffee room posts going back to Nov 2004 - so Frank must have left the coffee room intact.

I registered in June 2001, Member #165, just a few weeks after the new version of the board came online. I had lurked in the old forums for several months prior to that.

I, too, have pretty much curtailed my posting on PW, although I do still have a few unmet obligations in the AB forum. :leaving:

I was member 8,300 or something...October 20th, 2004.

I joined because I had this job that has 80% do-nothing time, AKA surf the net. I'm not sure how I found PW, but it was probably a combo of piano and politics. I joined just to discuss the election. My original name was...oooh, I dont think anyone knows this! I used it for about a day, back when you could change your displayed name. Anyway, it was Steve Frankee...but then I changed to something more a little more creative after seeing plays88's name. I had about 2,500 posts in 2 months or so. Looks like I'm slacking here...I only have 700 after one month! ;)

I don't remember my "original" member number. I posted just a few times on what I think was the old board... then came back quite a while later at member # 2500-something.

#2501 registered 29 October, 2002.

But I only started posting with some frequency this year. And then the Big One hit the OCR. Don't go around PW much any more. Most of my posts were always in the CR. I searched on my name and found that I registered to reply to a post by Larry on Rebekah del Rio. By the way, she finally issued a CD which I bought via CDBaby.

I also migrated over from the old board, and haven't looked at PW since the coffee room closed down.

For all I know they're back to hauling Fine Old Landfill Uprights to the dump by the truckload.

You aren't member # 7 Steve, I am. You're member # 14.

I went over there and looked, and I stand corrected on two points:

Larry was member #7 - I was member # 14.

and

They're not hauling Fine Old Landfill Pianos to the dump, and in fact there is a nice thread going over there where they are extolling the virtues of a Bush and Lane Upright Grand!
