Okay, so Change and I are back with yet ANOTHER roleplay attempt. This one we're really excited about and we hope you all will be too. It's kind of a mix of World Tree, TITAN, and the Legend of Zelda games, inspired by a vocaloid song that was stuck in my head at 1 in the morning. Here it is:

PLOT:

Long, long ago, in the time of Great Peace, the World of Aramithea thrived. The Seven Kingdoms were united under the Tree of Spirits, whose branches reached so high, none could ever see the top. But one day, a root was cut from the Tree of Spirits, and is said to have split off into a new tree growing upside down beneath the Earth. The angry spirits of the severed root from the Tree of Spirits started to grow angrier and hateful. From their hatred grew a seed that grew and grew into a horrible, ferocious beast. It rose from the depths and began to wreak havoc on the Seven Kingdoms. The Holy Seven, Rulers of the Seven Kingdoms and Masters of the will of the Spirits, urged their people to stand together and fight. But the Beast proved too powerful and soon the Holy Seven perished in the flames of the fallen kingdoms. New Rulers rose to the challenge, but they lived in fear and the union of the Kingdoms diminished all at the will of the Beast.

To appease the mighty Beast, the separate Kingdoms offered great riches, female companionship, and even their food. And still the Beast could not be tamed. Until one day, from the lair of the Beast came the Serpent Sage, a loyal Priestess who followed the Beast’s every will and command. The Serpent Sage started a process of collecting one female child of one of the Seven Kingdoms. The child would then become the Beast’s companion until her life has been drained away. None in the Seven Kingdoms dared to fight back. Life proceeded in the suffering lands, but a dark cloud had formed over the world of Aramithea, and from then on lived a time of Great Suffering. The People of Aramithea turned their prayers and hopes to the Tree of Spirits and hoped for a miracle. But as the years dwindled on the People lost their hope, and the Tree of Spirits was quiet and alone. Desperate for assistance, the Spirit Sage called upon the Tree’s power to find a chosen few in other worlds, connected to the great Tree, to help save Aramithea from destruction. Will these new heroes rise to the challenge? Or will the Darkness destroy them?

The same basic rules of roleplaying apply, and you can play anyone you want, from any world and all that good stuff. But we're also going to need a little help. Change and I can't play all of the Seven Sages, or all of the next Holy Seven. So we encourage you all to use your imagination and to maybe take on one of these roles, if you'd like.

Unfortunately, Change and I have had some issues with inspiration when it came to World Tree, sad as it is. -_-' We both agree that it is probably dead, or going to die rather soon. Sorry, Xipz-Kun. ^_^;

Changeling will probably be moderating this roleplay while I'm at Metrocon this weekend. And since I'll be out of town, I'm going to post my characters tonight just to get them out of the way. XD Also, I forgot to add the bad guy sign up list. I'll add it later, but feel free to add and bring in as many bad guys as you want.

Name: Joram Darrow
Age: 17

Abilities: He has no magical powers that he is aware of. He is just very skilled with the sword.

Appearance: Blonde, wavy hair tied back with a black ribbon, with bangs that hide eyes that resemble the sky. Tan skin, well built and around medium height. Usually wears black pants with brown boots, brown gloves that are tattered and worn, a grayish shirt that resembles a wife-beater but is actually a thicker cotton, and a hooded forest green cloack wrapped around his shoulders. His sword, Eren, is tied to his waist, and he usually has a serious look on his face. Around his neck is a silver pendent shaped like the moon.

Background: Joram Darrow was a twin boy born in the Kingdom of Light to a poor family, who barely had enough to survive. As he grew up, he spent most of his time working in the fields with Kaidence Darrow, his Father,in an attempt to keep his family going. His twin sister, Sarai Darrow, was his best friend. On the days when he wasn't working with his father, he and Sarai would go down to the Holom River and Sarai would bully him by pushing him in the water when he didn't allow her to put daisies in his hair. Family was the most important to the twin pair. Joram always worried for his sister's health and would often give his meals to Sarai and go hungry for the rest of the night. The Darrow family was poor, but they were happy.

One day, when Joram was nine, he worked as usualy out in the fields with his Father. Things seemed normal at first, until the world suddenly seemed to grow colder and a tall woman with long silver hair and a face hidden behind a pale green and black mask walked by, a tall and dark sceptor in her hand. Joram had never seen the woman before, but Kaidence Darrow recognized her immediately and siezed his son by the wrist and rushed home. Kaidence had Sarai hide in the back room with Joram. Joram didn't know what to make of the situation and was horrified. But nevertheless, he held his trembling sister close and told her that it would be okay.

The sound of a banging noise was heard outside, as the front door was thrown open. Kaidence Darrow's voice was heard, pleading to someone that he had no daughter here. A dark, sickening chuckle was heard and before Joram knew it, the door to the back room flew open and the dark woman from before stepped in. At her side were monstrous looking guards. The woman smiled and pointed at Sarai. Joram attempted to fight off the guards that rushed at them, but he wasn't strong enough. The last thing he heard was his sister crying out for help and the screaming of his parents as they fought back. He was thrown back into a slight consciousness as a bright and powerful light filled the room. The smell of smoke burned his throat and he felt someone lift him and carry him away. When he fully woke up, he was in a white room, bright and happy and filled with sunflowers.

Confused, Joram sat up and took in his surroundings, wondering if he had died. The door opened and another woman walked in. Her hair was long and silver as well, but pulled into an elegant braid over her shoulder. A kind and gentle look was in her green/blue eyes and she was smiling, carrying a tray of bread and soup. The woman introduced herself as Nira, the Sage of Spirits. She told him of the woman who took his sister was called the Serpent Sage, and killed his parents before burning his home to the ground. Confused and mortifyed, Joram wept for his lost sister and his deceased family. Nira told him that she rescued him because he would serve a great purpose that involved the rescue of his sister. So for years he trained as the pupil of the Spirit Sage and learned the holy ways of the Tree of Spirits.

When he finally reached the age of sixteen, he became anxious. He told the Sage that he was ready to fight, but Nira told him he wasn't. Angry, Joram left the Spirit Sage's side before he was ready. He spent most of his time in the City of Light, looking for information on the Serpent Sage and the Beast that kept his sister captive. He has been there ever since, studying and fighting off the horrible monsters sent by the Serpent Sage as an attempt to protect the people.

Name: Sarai Darrow
Age: 17

Abilities: She doesn't really have a lot of abilities. She is very agile due to her dancing, and has a voice like an angel that can ease even the most ferocious of beasts.

Appearance: She is seen as a petite, malnurished, but lovely young lady with long blonde hair tied back into an elegant bun with pale skin and bright blue eyes. She usually has a sad smile on her face. She is dressed in a white silk dress that falls to her knees, with the straps hanging delicately off her shoulders. She is always barefoot and wearing silver bracelets and anklets with silver bells on them. Around her neck is a golden pendent shaped like the sun. She looks rather weak and helpless but has an uncommon kindness shining in her eyes.

Background: Sarai is the twin sister of Joram. She was once a rambunctious little tomboy, climbing trees and making messes. though she always spent time helping her mother, Jenma Darrow, with anything and everything. Her favorite hobby was picking on her brother whom she loved very dearly. But when the Serpent Sage took her away from home, she was forced to become something similar to a concubine for the Beast. He never touched her inappropriately, but he always kept his eyes on her. For years, she would dance for him and sing tales of times gone by. And during those years, she gradually began to grow weaker. Every time he would trace his icy fingers across her cheek, she could feel her life force trickle away. It was a horrible existence, but she always dreamed on the day when Joram would rescue her from her own personal hell.

Name: Tawny Van Dalca
Age: 24

Abilities: Skilled in holy magic and is fairly good at manipulating the good in those around her. She is also a skilled swordsman.

Appearance: Shoulder length brown hair tied back into a small ponytail, cocoa colored skin with chocolatey brown eyes and pouty lips. Usually wears a red tank-top styled shirt that wraps around her neck, dark colored pants with brown boots. She has a bracelet on her right wrist that has a black band and silver charm that has a strange looking celtic-styled star carved into it. Usually seen with a bemused smirk on her face.

Background: Tawny was born in the Kingdom of Light but at a very young age, her parents died and she was sold to a group of traders. She was then sold to a rather rich family in the Kingdom of Shadows. As she grew up, she was basically a slave girl, acting as a maid to the household and companion to the child of the household, Kana. Kana was an awful child who beat Tawny whenever she misbehaved or refused a request. Sometimes, Kana would beat Tawny for no reason, finding joy in it. When Tawny turned twelve, however, she started fighting back and Kana had a little "accident" that resulted in a broken arm and busted lip.

Tawny was schedualed for a whipping from the master, but before they could, she ran away carrying the only clothes she had left, and her most prized possesion; her bracelet. She later found a kindly old man on the outskirts of town and befriended him. His name was Tao. He taught her how to fight and taught her to never be afraid. He even told her that the strange mark on her bracelet meant that she came from a strong family and that she needed to be brave and powerful. Tao died when she was 19. Tawny began to travel from then on, doing strange and unusual jobs to make a quick buck. She is now currently roaming in the Kingdom of Dreams. Little does she know, she is the next Queen of Light.

I'm going to post more later, I just wanted to get them out of the way.

Name: Drakus McKrakken
Title: King of Shadows
Age: 38
Race: Dragon
Gender: Male

Appearance: Drakus is an anthropamorphic dragon with black scales covering his body. Aside from a dark purple Decorative pants, he wears no clothing. He stands at 10 feeet 4 inches and has a wingspan of 10 feet when fully extended.

Bio: Drakus grew upon in the noble class of the Kingdom of Shadows and lived a fairly sheltered life. He hated it. Unbeknownst to his parents he would sneak out at night and walk amongst the city's impoverished. Their suffering gave him great joy. He knew that no matter how much he hated his forced lifestyle he was at least better off then the slime that infested the city.

Aside from walking amongst the impoverished, he also taught himself in the ways of the sword bu fighting small animals in the woods outside the city, fighting larger creatures the older he grew.

When he grew older still, he fought with criminals in the city, protecting citizens from harm, for a substantial fee, of course. His actions caught the attention of the city guard, and was soon asked to join them. He rose his way through the ranks and at the age of 30, though young for a dragon, was made the city watch captain.

While he is unaware of this fact, he is next in line for the throne of the Shadow Kingdom.

Just putting up two bios for now. Will have a couple more up later on. I'll try to think of something for the Sage of Shadows.

These two characters are different versions of existing ones, based on a project I'm working on.

...[/shameless self-advertisement]

*ahem* Anyways, on to the bios.
---------------------------------------------------------

Name: Calvin Watterson
Codename: Spaceman Spiff
Age: 23

Abilities: While he doesn't possess any magical powers whatsoever, he isn't at all defenceless. He's very quick on his feet. He's quite fast and agile, knows some hand to hand combat, is an expert marksman with a laser pistol, and is a very fast thinker. With the job he has, he absolutely HAS to be a very fast thinker.

Appearance: Has blonde, spiky hair, bright blue eyes, and can usually be seen with a cocky smirk on his face. Though whenever he knows the situation is serious enough, he'll lose that smirk in a hurry. His normal attire consists of a red and black striped t-shirt worn over a long-sleeved turquoise-coloured shirt, black pants, and dark red sneakers.

The standard Spaceman uniform, which he's required to wear whenever on a mission, consists of a light blue shirt with a black lightning bolt symbol on the chest, yellow shoulder pads, a yellow glove on the right hand, a black, metallic gauntlet on the left hand with different functions, light blue pants, yellow boots, and a yellow utility belt, where a Spaceman or Spacewoman keeps most of his or her weapons.

All Spacemen also wear a pair of black goggles over their eyes. When the goggles are placed on, digital white lights appear on the lens, and change shape, depending on the wearer's emotion. For example, if the wearer is surprised, the lights become big, round circles. The goggles also have different vision modes to switch through, such as night vision, or heat vision. There's also a function to audio or video record whatever is happening around the wearer.

Spiff's weapons consist of the standard Death Ray Blaster, which shoots electric bolts, and some smoke bombs.

The standard metal gauntlet on his left hand can shoot a grappling hook, which can allow him to climb up a wall or building, or even allow him to swing across some gaps that he can't quite make across by himself. The gauntlet can emit an energy shield to protect a number of people from certain attacks. Spacemen can also spray knockout gas with these gauntlets, should they be assigned to bring back an enemy alive for interrogation. Although, Spiff did put in a request to have his gauntlet modified to include a built-in music player. Normally, Spiff never likes to go into a mission without some music playing in the background. He seems to think fighting in a battle would make the fight that much more epic.

Background: Growing up in Chagrin Falls, Ohio was quite boring for young Calvin Watterson. His home was always too quiet for his tastes. He always dreamed of going off on wild adventures, and seeing new places and rare sights. A couple of years after graduating college, he was soon recruited to join the Spacefarers Alliance, but as a mere soldier in training. As he was new at the time, he was a bit inexperienced, often making some bumbling mistakes during his training sessions. Over time, however, he would improve greatly. His marksmanship with a laser pistol was something to behold. And he was quite fast and agile on his feet. And he quickly became one of the best pilots in the Alliance. Commander Spittle noticed his growing talents, and sent him and other soldiers in training on their first mission to the planet Zok. The soldiers were assigned to protect the city of Zartok from an invasion of evil aliens known as Zorgs. It was here where Calvin's skills were put to the test. The battle was violent and bloody. The Zorgs were ruthless. And many of Calvin's fellow soldiers had fallen. But he wouldn't give up. He remained headstrong, and kept fighting on. Soon, the Zorgs' numbers had been greatly reduced, and they were forced to retreat. Spittle congratulated him, and appointed him as a member of the Alliance's elite team of Spacemen, giving him the codename “Spiff”. From that point on, Spiff would have many adventures exploring the outer reaches of space, and fighting the evil Zorg army, led by Lord Zarthron.

Spaceman Spiff is always eager and ready for Spittle to assign him another mission, as that would mean a new adventure for him. Another opportunity to seek out new life, new worlds, and maybe bust some Zorg heads. Normally, he acts before thinking, which often puts him in very dangerous situations very fast. However, his brain will race furiously to come up with an idea that will get him out of these situations just as fast as he gets into them. Though he often takes pride in the fact that he's one of the Alliance's most valued Spacemen, likes to boast about himself, and sometimes comes off as a bit of a jerk, he is not at all heartless. When it all comes down to it, Spiff has a heart of gold, always looking out for the innocent and helpless, and will always answer the call for help when he is most needed.

As far as personal interests go, he seems to be a fan of most things that came from the 1980s. It's why you can normally find him playing music from the player in his gauntlet that came from that era, whenever he's locked in a fight with the Zorgs. He's also a fan of most things Star Wars, Batman, and Looney Tunes.

***

Name: Hobbes Siberia
Codename: Spaceman Mort
Age: In human years, he'd be considered 24

Abilities: Like Spiff, Mort doesn't possess any magical powers whatsoever. But being a tiger, he has naturally quick reflexes, speed, and agility. Much more so than Spiff. He's at his fastest when he's running on all fours. He's also more skilled in the ways of stealth, able to hide in the shadows and sneak up on his enemies with ease. He's more skilled in hand to hand combat than Spiff too. He's very ferocious in combat. His teeth and claws are really something to fear.

Appearance: Hobbes is a tall, lean tiger of the planet Pantherinae, with natural orange fur and black stripes. His belly, muzzle, paws, and the insides of his ears are covered with white fur. He also has a black nose, yellow eyes, and a long tail, also orange in colour, with black stripes. Normally, he has a kind, heartwarming smile on his face, yet most of the time, whenever dealing with Spiff, he'll frown, knowing something bad is bound to happen. Usually, whenever something does happen, he'll freak. His eyes shoot wide open, his frown grows larger, showing his teeth, and his tail fluffs up.

Much like the other members of the Alliance's elite Spacemen team, he wears the standard Spaceman uniform whenever he's on a mission, as described above. The shirt, the gloves, the belt, the weapons and gadgets, everything.

There are some instances, however, when he sees no need to use the grappling hook function in his gauntlet, as he can perform some feats of agility without it, him being a tiger born with natural athletic skills.

Background: Hailing from the planet Pantherinae, a planet of sentient, anthro tigers, Hobbes Siberia was happy with his tranquil life, always taking it easy, and laying back without any problems. Zarthron had soon disrupted this peace, however. Ever greedy for power and control, he led a faction of his Zorg army to conquer this world. Now, the tiger people are in constant war with the Zorgs. Hobbes was one of the many tiger people who took action, and fought back against the Zorgs. Hobbes notably fought the Zorgs with much more passion and ferocity than his fellow tigers. The higher ups at the Spacefarers Alliance took notice of this, and allowed him to join the Alliance as a new recruit. Hobbes accepted, willing to do anything to drive the Zorgs away. Hobbes first met Calvin in training, and the two took an instant liking to each other, becoming fast friends. Soon, the time came for Hobbes to prove himself as a worthwhile addition to the Alliance. He was among the soldiers sent to protect the Zokian city of Zartok to ward off the Zorg invasion. He bravely fought alongside Calvin, despite the odds that were stacked against the Alliance soldiers. Soon, they succeeded in driving off the Zorgs. Along with Calvin, Hobbes' skills were also recognized, and he was appointed as a member of the Alliance's elite team of Spacemen, given the codename “Mort”. Hobbes, aka Mort, is often partnered up with Spiff on various missions and assignments, as the two work very well together.

Spaceman Mort, like Spiff, is very caring, never turning down anyone who needs his help, and always protecting the innocent, fighting for justice and everything that's good. But that's where the similarities end. Hobbes never goes looking for a fight. He's never willing to throw himself into danger just for the heck of it. Only when he needs to. Also unlike his friend, he always insists on thinking the situation through rather than running headlong into something without considering the consequences. Despite what they may or may not agree on, Spiff and Mort have a strong friendship, and always rely on one another to do the right thing, and look out for each other. Even if Spiff is brash, brags a lot about himself, and is impatient, Mort has faith in him, knowing full well that he would never do anything dishonest, or anything that would endanger innocent lives. Clearly, the two share a bond that can never be broken.

Mort is also hungry most of the time. Despite his skinny appearance, he eats very frequently, his favourite food being tuna fish. And even when he does get his fill, his stomach is never satisfied for too long, as he'll become hungry again.

Alright, here's another reimagined Calvin and Hobbes character.

More bios to come.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Name: Susie Derkins
Codename: Spacewoman Lyla
Age: 23

Abilities: Much like a lot of the other members of the Spacemen team, she doesn't have any supernatural abilities. She's very proficient in hand to hand combat, and very athletic. She's also more of a tactician than Spiff is. While Spiff prefers to think of plans on the fly, Lyla likes to actually take the time to plan out offensive and defensive strategies. Which means whenever she's partnered up with a fellow Spaceman or Spacewoman on an assignment, she's the one who usually leads the charge.

Appearance: Smooth, brown hair that reaches her shoulders, brown eyes, usually has a kind smile on her face. That smile disappears whenever she gets angry. Then she has this mean scowl on her face that could frighten mostly anybody. She can usually be seen wearing a purple tank top, a pair of blue denim jeans, and white and black sneakers.

As stated above, she's required to wear the standard Spaceman/Spacewoman uniform whenever she's on a mission, carrying the same weapons and equipment.

Background: Susie is sort of a childhood friend of Calvin's, growing up as his next-door neighbour. Calvin used to hate her when they were both children, because girls reeked of "cooties", and were inferior to males. Susie would be amused at times, but mostly, she was just annoyed with him. Now that they're grown up, they've become better friends. Sort of. They have a love-hate relationship. The two remain close friends, yet because their personalities and ways of thinking severely clash with one another, they're constantly getting on each other's nerves and annoying each other. This can usually range from exchanging smart aleck comments, to outright shouting and yelling at each other. Despite all this however, they really do care for each other's safety, and won't allow anything bad to happen to one another. Which leaves one to think that there may be something deeper between the two...

Much to their luck (or chagrin, they didn't really know which one it was), Susie was recruited to join the Alliance, joining her childhood friend. The training was hard, tough, and harsh. They didn't let up on her just because she was a girl. But she saw her way through, and developed the skills she has today. Along with Calvin and Hobbes and many other soldiers, Susie was sent to Zartok to protect the inhabitants there from the Zorg invasion. Though she saw that Calvin was still just as brash as ever, she really got to see how much he had matured over the years. Though initially he was excited to kick some Zorg butt, now he was much more serious about protecting the city, and warding off the Zorgs. When push came to shove, he really did care about all the innocent lives that were at stake. Eventually, all of the Alliance soldiers that were left drove back the Zorgs, forcing the aliens to retreat. The soldiers that made it back to the Alliance space station were welcomed back with open arms. Everyone congratulated them for their efforts. When Calvin, Hobbes, and Susie were inducted into the elite team of Spacemen, Susie felt proud of herself. But more than ever, she was proud of Calvin, who proved to her that even if he does comes off as a jerk sometimes, in the end, he cares for everyone around him.

Spacewoman Lyla is a lot like Mort. She's more down-to-earth than Calvin is, a bit more realistic, and sensible. She never tries to rush into anything without thinking it through first. She's nice and kind to almost everyone around her. She'd never do anything to hurt any civilians, or any of her loved ones. However, whenever she gets angry, she can be pretty scary. What usually provokes her is whenever injustice rears its ugly head. Calvin gets on her nerves pretty easily too. One should also be aware not to make any jokes about her... *ahem*... chest. That's just about the easiest way to get your ass handed to you.

Grand Marshal
The main villain of my Spaceman Spiff project.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Name: Lord Zarthron
Age: In Zorg years, he's over 2000 years old, but as far as human years go, he'd be in his 40's

Abilities: One would think that an alien who just stands about ordering his army around wouldn't be able to do much of anything. He's actually very athletic, capable of many amazing feats of agility, able to make impressive jumps into the air. He's very skilled with beam swords as well, dual wielding them with ease. His hand to hand skills are nothing to scorn either. He's very lethal. His strength makes him an even more formidable foe, as he's capable of lifting things that are many times his own size. He can slap anyone about really hard with his tentacles, and leave some deep scratch wounds with his claws. His razor-sharp teeth are also something to fear.

Appearance: Zarthron, like others of his race, looks reptilian in appearance, having blue, scaly skin all over, a long snout, slit nostrils, and a set of razor sharp teeth. There are no irises to be found in his eyes. There's only a creepy, sickly green colour that stares deep into one's soul. His hands and feet bear a set of sharp claws which can easily tear through flesh.

He can usually be seen wearing a black cloak, which easily hides the four slimy, orange tentacles in his back. Around his waist are the two scabbards which house his viridian beam swords.

Background: Zarthron, like any other Zorg, grew up wanting nothing more than power and control. He wanted to rule over as many worlds as he possibly could. He trained himself in dual-wielding beam swords. And to attain further power and strength, he underwent some Zorg experiments, gaining enhanced strength, and having some tentacles surgically attached to his back. He so far has many worlds under his rule, and his army is at war with the race of tigers on the planet Pantherinae. Next, he had his sights set on the planet Zok. And the first place he would take would be the city of Zartok. He sent a faction of his army to invade and take the city. What he wasn't expecting, however, was for a smaller number of them to return and report that they had been beaten back by some Alliance soldiers. He obviously wasn't pleased, and had these failures sentenced to death. Over time, he'd have many plans to conquer different places he had his sights on. However, each and every time, his Zorg soldiers would report back and inform him they were beaten by the Alliance's Spacemen. Sure, he'd suffer the odd defeat, but these defeats were becoming frustratingly frequent. A lot of his foiled plans were because of one Spaceman in particular. A Spaceman whose name would become engraved in his mind for quite some time. A Spaceman he so desperately wanted to get up close and personal with so he could be done with him.

Spiff.

Lord Zarthron is ruthless, vicious, and power-hungry, like any other Zorg. He does not tolerate failure, and will execute any minions who fail to carry out his orders. Every plan thwarted, he becomes much more frustrated and angry, though he usually covers this up very well with a calm demeanor. Although he has yet to meet this Spaceman Spiff, he holds much hatred for him. When the time comes that these two come face to face, Zarthron will make sure he knows not to invoke his wrath.
