3) I thought Kid Devil was the most popular OYL Titan. Though he's not around right now, so...

I'd say they were about even, but since Kid Devil is currently dead and Miss Martian isn't, I think she gets the tie breaker. But really, if the forum talk I've seen is any indication, she is very popular (and likely to get popular still with the upcoming YJ series).

I doubt this is a final roster. We're only seeing as many as they put on those covers; and as we know they don't always get everyone.

Krul has said that he doesn't like large rosters. He certainly thinks ten is too many, and nine is pushing it. Assuming Damien is on the team (and the Source certainly implies he is), then I'd say only one more additional MAYBE. More likely, those 7 are going to be it.
Supporter of the following ships: (TT) BB/R, Rob/Star, Cy/Jinx, Matt Logan/Bette Kane; (non-TT) Tenchi/Ryoko, Ataru/Lum, Marcus/Susan, Adric/Nyssa, Crichton/Aeryn, Xander/Buffy, Rick Hunter/Lisa Hayes, Paul/Saylah, Harper/Rommie, Keiichi/Belldandy, McGee/Abby

Ahh. Well, either her or Static should be that extra member, if there's going to be one. Or Vulcan, who should have been a Titan a long time ago. Otherwise, this is a roster I could get behind.

Well, except for Wonder Ho; get rid of her, please.

If we did get rid of her, could we replace her with like Supergirl or someone like Miss Martian? I'd prefer that personally.

Did we ever get an update on him and the others from Titans East? I know all but Power Boy survived, but last I checked, Anima, Little Barda, Vulcan, and Lagoon Boy were still in a coma.

Unfortunately we allready have one super on the team. But if we can get rid of Conner, I would much rather have Supergirl on the team. otherwise two Kryptonians on one team is overkill.

As for other possible recruits (please keep it small JT) I would rather see a batgirl over robin. a return or Argent could be cool. And I'd like to see Lagoon boy actually get some characterization. He and tempest are the only ones from the aqua family that I find interesting at all. But if there is any I'd really like to see on this team (aside from Eddie and Meg) I'd like Speedy to come back.

I'll agree King. More than one Kryptonian on the Teen Titans is probably pushing it. I'm okay with Conner though; I'm afraid that Supergirl on the team and away from Sterling Gates characterization - at least until he has a long enough run to define her in a positive way - will see her end up being a bitchy blonde like Cassie.

Eh, I'll rather have Damian on the team. Steph is best left to Bryan Q Miller right now. Give him time to define her so other writers have something to look to first when looking to have her on a team or something. Besides which, the Batgirls haven't really been joiners, kinda like Poppa Bat.

Well, there is that new Aqualad debuting in Brightest Day in a month or two.

I hadn't even thought about him. They certainly wouldn't introduce a new character not to have a permanent place to put him for a while. And it would make sense that they would get rid of AquaGirl to make room for him. However, I doubt I'd like him much better than any other aqua spawn. Tempest was cool because of his water magic, and Lagoon boy was neat because he wasn't human, but all the other aqua's always leave me cold.

And not that Damian isn't an interesting character, I just don't know about him being on the Titans. Tho I could see Dick sending him there to learn how to play nice with others.

Also, how old is Damian? Like 10? with him on the team, and Gar in his early twenties, and Raven being however old they decide she is now, can they still call it the "Teen Titans"?

New topic. Does anyone think there may be a change in leadership now that we know Gar will still be on the team? Maybe the new writer and roster is DC's chance to put him in command and justify his being on a teen team when he is so much older. JT did mention that he is very fond of the green guy and he seemed in command (or was written as if he were) during the BN mini. who knows?..

Honestly the only one from the Aqua family worth his salt is Aquaman himself. I really never felt Garth was all that strong a character, though I was interested in seeing what he did as King of Atlantis as seemed to be teased in Titans #15. But otherwise, kinda bleh. So I'm willing to give the new Aqualad a shot because there isn't really anyone else from there to use.

It doesn't really matter. The Teen Titans haven't always had characters who were actual, you know, teens, even during the best, iconic eras. During the Wolfman/Perez era, most of them were in the upper teens and were soon adults, hence why they tried calling it "The New Titans". Geoff's era had adult Titans. Danny Chase was underage.

Thinking too much on the age deal is pointless, honestly, though a lot of folks insist on thinking on it.

We likely won't know until his run starts; right now we have little to go on other than a pretty solid idea of the rosters, which while it's more than we had a week ago, is not much to speculate with in regards to leadership.

True, but i don't really think he will be joining the team. I imagine the first story arc will be about Damian inviting himself, the others butting heads with him, all the while having to deal with whatever crisis or villian arrives. After which I imagine the titans will kick him out, Dick will take him out, or he will decide he is too cool for school and leave. At most he may be a recurring cameo.

God so many people are calling a a YJ overhaul on this title, pisses me off. I'd love to see some titan exclusive characters, like maby Vox and Bumblebee.

Comments and the original Source announcement indicate otherwise.

Which is a good thing, to me.

Both are, as I recall, semi-retired, divorced and not very interesting anyways.

Actually, I'm going to call a spade a spade; I love the Teen Titans, but MOST of their former members are lame and/or uninteresting.

How many times has Bart or Tim retired?

Also, alot of the titans have potential. They are interesting because they have different origins that aren't powers from earths sun, or orphan with martial arts and tools. It makes for a more diverse team and allows for many different character centric arcs.

But most writers only care for the popular and YJ so they never write these off beat characters well

And in the "who didn't see this coming" department, Static Shock is getting an ongoing next year, written by Felicia Henderson.

JT Krul, Nicola Scott, others talking about it. Of course. Why would I take a commentors word for it? Right now they're freaking about Grant Morrison being off Batman & Robin when, despite not having been announced yet, everything up to now has made it clear he's going to be on something Batman after B&R #18. Most of your average commentors don't know what they're talking about.

Dude, look. We're both Titans fans here. I love the team. But most of the characters made for or who joined them over the years suck.

Jokers Daughter? Herald? Bumblebee? Danny Chase (pre-Phantasm)? Pantha? The entirety of Team Titans? Risk? Argent? Hero Cruz? The completely unnecessary third Hawk and Dove? If you want a recent example, what about Bombshell? Let's not even get into Jericho. Also, while Geoff tried to rehab her as a character - and she's finding new life outside the Titans now - Flamebird was just... UGH in regards to the Titans pre-Geoff, largely a result of the fact that she had no use after Barbara Gordon became Batgirl.

Point is, the Teen Titans have a lot of characters born from them that just straight up suck. Or are lame. Sure, you've got guys like Red Star and Lillith (though she's dead at present), but for every one of them there's about two lame members that probably could have done without being created.

I'd rather the team keep from being a Young Justice wankfest, but that's largely because my interest lies in the original Wolfman/Perez team and not Young Justice. But not every member who joined the team was a homerun. Quite a few - from someone as visible as Jericho on down to friggin Deathwing - were downright lame.

True, most of the "new" recruits have been on a suck streak, but that's how it is when it comes to teams. There's always one or more members that don't click with the audience, but given the right time and writer, there's always room for development. Hell, I wasn't much into Red Star up until Infinite Crisis.
Plus most of them are still alive, so their gonna have to come outta limbo sometime sooner or later, whether to die in an instant or just make a short cameo.

Maybe, but I think over time I've come to a point where I'm a believer that not every character has hidden potential. If the concept doesn't work, it just doesn't work. A lot of the time, when that right writer comes around, they make the character cool by fundamentally changing them, which is not the same as a character having potential all along.

Maybe, maybe not. Some characters just don't emerge from limbo. You don't exactly hear much from, you know, any of Team Titans. Or someone like early Batman villain the Penny Plunderer. I mean, I really don't think there's hidden potential the right writer can exploit in either of those, so they stay dead.
