Well we did enjoy Blackest Night Titans, so I guess this is good news. Maybe, just maybe, this won't be crappy.

But we've been burned before.

But we've been burned before.

At least if JT does burn us in the end, we can understand the writing. XP

Either way, I'll take it.

Best comment I've read on Henderson's writing:

Quote:

She reads like she's writing for Scooby Doo.  The only thing her Teen Titans lacks is at the end of the story, they tear off the mask to reveal that it was old man Jenkins who was masquerading as Deathstroke all along.

You know it wasn't always Old Man Jenkins. Sometimes they switched it up and was some guy trying to buy out the town.

Wait... that was 90 percent of the episodes... forget I said anything.

What a god damn relief.

DT and I knew about this as a rumor for about a month now. We pretty much had our fingers crossed it was the real deal. We were pretty sure it was given the circumstances, but I didn't bother bringing it up here because I didn't want to get anyones hopes up.

What I've seen of Blackest Night: Titans wasn't perfect, but Kruls writing there was head and shoulders above Henderson. I'm more than okay with this.

Yeah, there were a lot of pretty good sources who have been claiming this was in the works for a few months now. Frankly, we've kind of been expecting an official announcement for weeks (I thought Johns earlier comment about something big being announced at C2E2 would be it). The leak from a couple of weeks ago coupled with the abysmal reviews of recent issues (not to mention a rumored nose-dive in pre-orders for future issues) probably forced their hand.

Best bet, TT #87 is her last issue.

Now if I can just find someone in authority willing to confirm/deny those mini series rumors....

Yeah, I was surprised that this wasn't announced at C2E2. I figure they decided to hold off on the announcement for a little longer. Honestly, I would have put Krul on the title right out of the gate; but at the same time, DC probably wanted to see how reaction to the Blackest Night tie-in was before they worried about that, hence Henderson holding down the fort. So if that's the case, one can't blame them too much.

Like I've said all along, I was never convinced Henderson was writer for the long term.

THANK GOD!

JT's Blackest Night wasn't perfect, but I wouldn't expect anyones first time with new characters to be. That said His work was far better than anything Henderson has done as of yet, and she's had some time to cut her theeth with the team.

This couldn't happen soon enough for me. There's no garauntee that his run will be better, but it would be a real challange to be worse

Let not forget, that the BN Titans still isn't clearl where it happened in regards to Henderson's run. Further more, JT wrote Gar as the team leader. It woulsdn't be too hard to tie up all of Henderson's run as being before BN and Gar takes lead before that happens. Hopefully Krul will put Gar at the Titans helm and put Cassie in her place.

Not to mention that Bart was in the BL Titans issue as well, and he just joined the team. So best guess, Henderson has Gar man up during the Hunt for Raven, then we get into some kinda state that was after the BL crap. Course, knowing Henderson' skills, that's a lot to hope forthat seems just a bit outta reach.

You're right, it isn't. This has been an absolutely massive annoyance for me. Updating the GarxRae roadmap has been difficult primarily for this reason. Unless Krul makes it clear, I'm likely going to have to just wing it.

There's always the option of leaving out Hendersons run entirely - as while it had GarxRae moments, it's more or less been ass - but in some fashion that feels dishonest, so unless I have no choice or are told otherwise I'm probably going to end up including it, though at the moment that's really freaking difficult.

I'm at the point where I'm probably going to more or less ignore this entire run. So if she fails, it's not a big deal to me.

Err, while it hasn't been specifically mentioned in regards to recent storylines, it appears that we're currently beyond when Blackest Night happened. JLA made references to BN having recently happened in the issue where Cyborg and Donna joined, and Cyborg appears to be already ensconced with the Justice League in the most recent issues. I'm pretty sure current TT is happening after Blackest Night.

Yes, I know, the time line doesn't make much sense. But neither did the timeline for Final Crisis when compared to the rest of the DCU. Its probably just better to ignore the inconsistencies and move on.

But JT Krul writing Gar again SHOULD be a good thing.

1) Lots of people hate Krul's writing on the Rise of Arsenal mini series.

2) In the initial statements Krul's assignment, he gives a broad hint that perhaps some roster changes are in the works. It could just be that Krul gets the assignment, but Gar and/or Raven are to leave the team before he takes over.

Just watch. Her last issues turn out to be extremely well-written and become all-time classics.

... The ONE TIME I'd have preferred you to fail me, you come through. XP

Yeah, Rise of Arsenal sounds like a s*** sandwich, but it's working largely off of Cry for Justice, which was also a s*** sandwich. So it's made partially of leftovers from the previous s*** sandwich. If I can give James Robinson a pass, I can give Krul a pass. Besides which, it sounds like his miniseries is basically just getting the character from point A to point B; after all, he's going to be joining the DCU's current "cut up a hero and stuff him in matchboxes" team of villains in the Titans books new direction.

On Gar and Raven, I highly doubt they're going anywhere. I've long said that it's felt like Hendersons run was moving pieces into play for the next writer. I doubt it's a coincidence that the teams resembling the pre-OYL team.

The people likely to go? Aquagirl - her slutting around the tower could be a way to cause tension and get her out - and maybe Bombshell. Blue Beetle's already left.

The timeline for Final Crisis was confusing? Every story that was running while Final Crisis was going took place before Final Crisis. People aren't used to events that don't affect every running storyline. Why there was so much confusion I haven't the foggiest.

That would be somewhat amusing, but I'd sooner bet on winning the lottery.
