![]() Written by ERIC WALLACE • Art and cover by FABRIZIO FIORENTINO The TITANS ongoing series returns with a new direction that ties into BRIGHTEST DAY! We saw what Deathstroke and his team of mercenaries did in the TITANS: VILLAINS FOR HIRE SPECIAL #1, and it was a dark day for the Justice League of America. Hopefully their next target fares better. Good luck, Lex Luthor! DC Universe | 32pg. | Color | $2.99 US On Sale June 9, 2010 |

Dude may as well paint a big target on that shiny dome of his; 'Stroke is coming for blood. Course we know Lex won't be killed by Deathstroke and his team. It will be interesting to see how he manages to worm his way out of it though. Slade's good at what he does. In that respect, this is something like the DC version of the Punisher paradox. Having him take part in the universe is fun, but the trouble is that when he goes up against bigger players he can't kill them and you know it. Thankfully clever writers can get around it easy enough. |

Not to mention the second sniper scope next to the main sniper scope... I guess he might have put it there for Rose... Bring Your daughter to Wrok Day, maybe? |

Yeah, sometimes artist try to make something more bad ass by adding crap to it. usually it just ends up looking asinine. Case in point: ![]() Bigger isn't always better, and less is more. |

When I was a kid my friend had that book and we thought it was badass. I can't remember the twin hitlers though. |

The second scope is much smaller. It's probably there for a different magnification level. You know, for targets that aren't a mile away. I'm not sure why the laser would bother anybody though. That's a relatively common tool for getting a bead on your shot. |

That's not how scopes on guns work. A scope already has levels of magnification built in--the one on the cover even has a knob drawn on it. Plus, its on the side of the gun, which doesn't make sense for a precision rifle, nor does it make any sense the way its depicted here--Luthor should not be in the center of that scope's lens, he should be off to the side of it. Yet he's in the center of both. As for the laser--it might be fine if it were just a dot, but its a beam, too. Forgetting that doesn't make sense--assuming comic physics--why would you have a beam when you assassinate someone? How obvious would it be--hm, what's this beam here on my head. At that point you might as well have a sign over your sniper perch that says "ASSASSIN HERE", because the beam makes it pretty easy to see where he's firing from. Just notice something else wrong with it--Luthor is looking directly into the rifle. Yet its obvious both from Deathstroke's stance and the laser beam shining on Luthor's head that the beam is coming from above, as Slade is likely on a roof top. But how can Luthor be looking directly into the scope--just look, his head isn't raised, he's not looking up. Yet somehow, he's looking directly ahead into the sniper scope that is above his head. EDIT: Of course, I guess Luthor did notice he was about to be assassinated since he has that constipated looking scowl on his face. Unless that's how he always looks when he wakes up in the morning. COVER FAIL! |

For some reason, the image is not loading for me at all. It doesn't seem to be up on dccomics.com yet, anywhere else I can view it? |

You're right; I didn't notice the knob. I'm kind of surprise you guys noticed all the flaws. I just thought it was a pretty cool cover. But, alas. |
