thats upsetting news... So lets have the run down... Blue Beetle is going to be in JLI Static is most likely getting his own book in Dekota Wondergirl, Superboy and Kid Flash are back here (with Tim close at hand, it seems) Aquagirl might be able to stay as she fits with the sidekick theme that YJ had Miss Martian has a similar chance, but less as she and J'onn aren't really connected. I don't know if they've ever even met eachother... Bombshell is kinda like a sidekick for Captain Atom, but thats a very suttle connection for people who don't know them. If she isn't still in this book, I don't see her fitting anywhere else. As for Raven and Beast Boy, they could remain on the team as non YJ representation, but I would count on that alone. I could see them both fitting in the Doom Patrol, but that would be one ship without oars for another ship without oars and a leak. Perhaps it could be the time for them to join the others on the JLA. That would be an interesting idea, all the titans being leagers and the YJ being Titans whilst all the original JLA are off on big seperate adventures. But I wouldn't put much merit in this either. Then again, they said that Deathstroke's run in Titans is a transition. As annoying as it sounds, perhaps the Titans book will be re-structured when Bats and the other big names return and the former titans have to leave that book... nothing to do but wait and speculate |

James Robinson said that his JLA team is now fixed and will remain the same "for at least the next four years". Dick Grayson and Donna Troy would be on the team the entire time (and in Dick's case, whether or not he remains as Batman). Starfire, Cyborg, Wally, and Roy all have plans. The only Titans that don't seem to have been discussed are Beast Boy and Raven. Miss Martian might survive, since she appears to be part of this (unconfirmed) YJ animated series supposedly coming out. As for DP... I've got a hunch it might not be too long before its officially canceled. DC didn't seem to be pushing it the same way that they were pushing other marginal titles like REBELS and Jonah Hex. |

I'm telling ya. They should get their own book. Be a crime-fighting duo. Living together... makin' babies. |

Relax already. I highly doubt they're going to be dumped now. They brought the two to the current team, the two are embroiled in it now. They have no place else to go. I doubt DC's going to dump them into limbo again. Besides which, putting more focus on the Young Justice characters isn't anything new; hell, Johns pre-OYL Teen Titans was basically Young Justice plus Gar and Raven. We've already thought they were moving more towards the pre-OYL roster. So how does this signify anything else? There really is no sense worrying right now.
I've little doubt they're going to let Keith Giffen finish up his plans and then cancel the title. It's sales are pitiful. Even the Blackest Night tie-in didn't save it. I think it's going to be long time before DC even thinks about using the Doom Patrol again, because the teams brought nothing but failure after failure.
I'd buy that book. Marvel's doing something like that soon; Hawkeye and Mockingbird have their own title coming soon for them to have adventures and all that. |

Maybe I should become a Comic Book writer, and then make that a reality when the time is right. |

Man, I really, really do not like how pessimistic this fandom - well, and the Teen Titans fans in general - have become. Granted, it's been a long time since stable grounds been under us, but it's getting kind of ridiculous. When even DT is not all that optimistic, one can tell it's taking a bit too much of a toll on everyone. Folks, just relax; there's no reason to be despondent and such until there's, you know, a reason. DT? Keep it together man. I kept up with all the panels. The Teen Titans in general weren't discussed much; and even then only when brought up. Not just Gar and Rae. As far as the Young Justice goes, they were mentioned once as such characters showing up in Teen Titans and possibly getting ongoings. I don't think it's time to declare they're looking to a future with just Young Justice when they barely discussed the team at all. Also, I really don't see Gar and Rae going anywhere for numerous reasons. Just try and relax; it's worrisome that this is getting to you as much as it is.
Uhh... depends on your writing skills whether that could happen. Plicky already wants to work at DC at some point. |

That would be an interesting job. Maybe somewhere down the line I might get the chance. Wouldn't that be ironic as all get out? lol |

I sincerely wish to write comics someday, but assuming I do, I'll likely stick to creator owned stuff. Can't really see myself writing corporate characters. So much baggage involved and constant worry of whether your take on a given character rings true. |

I've always thought it was cool to take writing and have someone draw it out. Even before I started reading comics. But you're right DL. Especially now the thought of working with those characters is so daunting. Even if I knew the characters inside and out, I still would be so freaked out. |

Once again, I don't think they're going to get killed off or anything. I'm not pessimistic that they'll be completely obliterated from the DCU, or that their relationship is being thrown away. But right now I do think a return to limbo is a very real possibility. Sorry, but you guys didn't hear Johns and Didio at the convention. When Teen Titans got discussed, it was all YJ all the time, with the clear understanding that everything else was secondary. Now, it could be that there are plans for Raven and Beast Boy somewhere else, either together or separately, but you couldn't tell that from anything they said. It was their omission that I found noteworthy; they just didn't seem important enough to warrant so much as a passing reference. The future of the Teen Titans is clearly with the YJ crew, because those are the only Teen Titans any of them seemed to care talking about. Oh, and then I read that interview with artist Joe Bennett, and I just about threw up when I read what he thought of Beast Boy. If that's the way someone who works for DC thinks how Gar is, you've got to wonder how prevalent that view is elsewhere. Unless things change, once again I think we're just going to have to go back into long-haul mode. The two will eventually come back somewhere, but how long that will be is just anyone's guess. Frankly, at the moment I think DC's concern is to fix TT; to that end, I think they believe that everything and everyone connected to the title is suspect. For those who don't know, the items I was trying to get Johns to sign are the two pages from TT #30 & #31 I bought from Tony Daniel (the Kiss page and the Embrace page). In part I brought them just to see if Johns or someone might comment. It didn't happen, though, so sadly I didn't get that opportunity. And just a reminder, solicits for July come out tomorrow. |

Perhaps not, but if I were that inclined I could watch a video of it, since Newsarama switched it's "coverage" a while back to basically streaming video of the panels. I literally only saw two mentions of Teen Titans through the entirety of the con and they were both at the same panel; Geoff saying Teen Titans was a personal book to him and that Young Justice characters would show up in Teen Titans in the near future plus possibly getting their own titles on top of DiDio mentioning that the current "Villains for Hire" direction of Titans isn't necessarily permanent. Now, of course, the only one of note is Young Justice related. But considering how little the Titans were even mentioned - literally twice in all three days - I'm not taking it to mean a whole lot. We got even less to go on from C2E2 than usual. Also, there's something else to take into account. There's the matter of that Young Justice cartoon coming up. It would be kind of weird for them NOT to have Young Justice characters show up before that came around. On top of which, I'll be surprised if a Young Justice title isn't resurrected around when it starts (though considering many of the core YJer's aren't slated to be on the show from what we know, I doubt Superboy or Kid Flash would go anywhere). There's just so little to go on and it would be disappointing for everyone to get down over... well, not a whole lot, really.
... We got out of long-haul mode? |

I understand that. But again, between that and the way they were talking, makes it seem to me that another trip to limbo land for both is now more likely, not less.
2006-2008 long haul mode, as opposed to the long haul mode we've had since Titans started. |

I dunno. We've got so little to go on from this con. I'm more wait-and-see than worried. Honestly, considering how little the Titans were mentioned - they were talked about even less than usual - I can't bring myself to take any of this as a sign. If the Titans had been discussed more, that might be a different story, but with Cyborg, he was brought up because James Robinson was talking about his Justice League run a lot, whereas there were pretty much no details I could see on Teen Titans besides "Young Justice characters will show up in the future". I doubt we'll really hear any actual news until San Diego, honestly.
Ah. Well, such depends on them going into limbo, which I'm not inclined to believe is going to happen just yet. |
