It was a reference to a joke DL made on another board.

Oh.

Well darn.

David Caruso overacting is just about the best thing on that show.  I mean, he can even put Shatner to shame!

But I'm still a bigger NCIS fan.

I don't watch it often, even though I really enjoy it--all of the CSI, really--whenever I actually do. Not big on TV. But I have to pause and watch if I ever catch it at the right time to see Horatio put on or remove his glasses. Or if...he says a dramatic line.

No not yet.
All I'm hearing out there is that there were definitely some groan-worthy, eye-rolling moments in the dialog and banter, and a dramatic entrace by Superboy and Kid Flash, with Cyborg escorting them to the fight.
Which kinda sounds down-right idiotic considering that fact that one has the power of the speedforce and the other can fly faster then a speeding bullet.

Yeah, that's about what I'm hearing. It doesn't sound like there were any additional Gar/Rae moments, but it does sound like Henderson didn't make Gar out to be a complete jerk this time. Maybe there might have been something in the dialogue later in the issue, but if so no one is mentioning it.

Some people seem to think that Henderson is getting better, though.

She seems to allude to it here and there, but Henderson's mostly danced around the subject of the relationship, it seems. She's always struck me as an interim writer at best, there to kill time and issues until something better comes along. I think the whole thing's mostly being saved for later.

Almost inevitable, really; but it's kinda sad her rookie assignment had to be on the title we were most interested in.

Ok, I went down to my local store and read, not buy but read, the latest issue. Now before I go into the spoilers and such, let me say that it was a refreashing change. As a whole, this book read far more smoothly than the last few books. It's far from the quality we became used to in Johns day, but it was far better than what Hendersen had been delivering up till now.

Vic? Brooding? ...Well, I guess since Bruce is away, someone has to pick up the slack. Dick cannot brood as efficiently, after all.

Just one more reason the DC Universe needs... BATMAN.

On Gar/Rae, it sounds like more dancing around the issue which is... basically what I expected, as it's where the whole things gone from jump street with Henderson.

I'm okay with Gar doubting himself, but I really, really hope this isn't going to be a pattern. Low self esteem's one of his personality quirks - though not quite as overt, usually - but it's not something I'd want to see happen a lot.

Maybe its too much to hope, but I'm wondering if they're setting Gar up for something big. They keep going back to his self-doubts in such a way that its sounds to me like a plot point for something coming up.

I note that the in the Wyld storyline the team seems to be split up. Presumably Gar will take charge of one of the groups. Perhaps what all of this will be leading up to is going to happen on this far away world?

And Vic brooding is nothing new; he did it all the time in the NTT days.

Well, the timeline is still wonky. By my estimation, all this is still taking place before or close to the start of Blackest Night. The Titans issues talk of Gar being leader for a few weeks; perhaps that's coming, but we just haven't gotten there yet.

I mean, Wonder Girl hasn't been a good leader, despite getting confidence back and giving Gar grief. As someone on another forum mentioned, she stopped the team from doing something to iterate that she was the leader and that they should do something. Oh, and told one of her team to leave before promptly getting her group captured.

Maybe, but it's not something one is used to seeing these days.

Maybe, but it's not something one is used to seeing these days.

Vic is a character one tends not to be used to seeing these days.

DT is right, though, if there were a brooder in the group, it was always Vic.

Dick wasn't too much into the brooding at that point in time, and even then it wasn't from a lack of confidence, but a sort of an obsessive need to constantly improve--he knew he was good, he just needed to always be better.

Vic and Gar, though, shared a common theme of lacking self-confidence and having poor self-images. Gar just hid his under a mask of humor; Vic was always a brooder though. I think that was part of the root of their friendship.

Another reason that animated series sort of screwed the pooch.

Well, this issue didn't reveal too much either way. Still don't know which way it'll swing. There's some hope, but after half a decade of "almost there almost there almost--damn" I won't hold my breath quite yet. Still hoping Debby is right, and we're still pre-Blackest Night.

Still don't like the way Gar is portrayed, mostly because its like he's stuck in some infinite loop of "overcoming his angst in order to lead". Its like he's constantly on the cusp of moving forward, but inevitably has to retread the "Gar grows up" moment.

I wish we also knew how old him and Raven are supposed to be right now, too. I THINK they dropped Raven in high school... maybe... she's looking older anyway... And we're still clueless as to how old Gar is supposed to be.

I would like a different artist, personally.

This is true, unfortunately. But now that he's a Leaguer, that will probably change. I mean, he still pops up in the Titans books and Justice League just closed out it's opening "get the band together" arc. I'm hoping he's a good presence in the League; I don't have much of a clue about right now though, since I'm primarily a tradewaiter.

If they were going to drop it, they would have already done it by now.

The wait, however, is annoying; we're all understandably anxious since we've had the start-stop-start-stop deal going for a good five years now.

And that, I fear, has become the biggest problem. Too many readers who were willing to give it a chance before are just now sick of it because it never seems to go anywhere.

Like DL said, if they were going to drop it, they'd have done so by now. I fully expect their relationship, whatever it might be, is going to be a major plot point in the next arc.

How encouraging...

I really need to hear some good news soon; I'm starting to get despondent, which there's already enough of in this damn fandom...

You could always go all AL on the Titans Monitor people. That seems to be the new gathering place for disgruntled Teen Titans fans these days.

Unless they're as dumb as His Majesty and company, I doubt it will be much more than saddening, not lulzy.
