![]() Written by James Robinson, Art and cover by Mark Bagley & Rob Hunter The JLA can't escape the BLACKEST NIGHT! Faced with the continuing threat of the Black Lanterns, Zatanna, Vixen and the rest of the team confront their pasts when fallen friends and foes return for blood! DC Universe | 40 pg | Color | $3.99 US On sale December 16 ********** I think these ongoing tie-ins only go two issues, so this is probably the last Blackest Night tie-in. I wouldn't expect the new team to assemble - or at least start doing so - until #41. The conceit here seems to be the remnants of the Justice League - which is down to Zatanna, Vixen and Doctor Light considering Firestorms state as of Blackest Night #3 - struggling to stay alive, which would be weird if there was a solid roster of superpowered folk. Besides that, Cyborg and Starfire in particular are chillin' with the Titans when Blackest Night hits, so it's unlikely they'd be with the Justice League when the League fights off this menace anyways. |

A little it, but it's starting to come together. It seems Titans is all pre-Blackest Night up to #19 (I suspect the 20th is going to be used as the issue where Deathstroke takes over and the book starts over). From there we go to Blackest Night: Titans; Cyborg, Starfire and Beast Boy still seem to be with the team, after all. From there I suspect we go to #76 of Teen Titans and then the Blackest Night issues of Teen Titans. I suspect the new roster is going to start gathering after or during the Blackest Night tie-in. Probably after. So I suspect Starfire and Cyborg go from with the Titans during Blackest Night to taking up membership as members of the Justice League. That's just how it seems to be playing out to me. |

The new JLA roster will probably pick up after the BN tie in, but Beast boy and Raven re-introduction to the Teen Titans is happening right before that books tie in, so it's still a little hinky where everything fits... |

I'm thinking maybe the issue where they're reintroduced, #76, might take place between the Blackest Night: Titans mini and the Teen Titans tie-in issues. It's certainly possible. All in all, I guess we'll know sooner or later. For now, at least things are looking better, eh? |

Oh, I couldn't be happier with how Blackest Night is being handled. It's easily one of the best company wide crossover stories I've read. is there no limit to what Johns can do? |

I guess not. He does wonders with pretty much everything. If this event keeps up the quality of the first three issues, this could well be the best event ever created. Even the fraking tie-ins are great. I have high hopes for the post-Blackest Night DCU! With the League gaining Titans and the quality throughout, this could be a good time to be a fan of DC. |

Good timing on my part, then, eh? But...how long does it take for these things to be put in a trade? ...And would it be better to just buy the comics if they sorta mess around with the trades like they did with Teen Titans: Death and Life? Is this even the right place to be asking that? O_o -Feels utterly n00bish- >.> |

It usually takes about four to six months after the last issue they intend to put into a collection releases for it to come out in hardcover. From there it's four months to a year before it releases in softcover form. Keep in mind some stuff doesn't release in hardcover, however, and go right to softcover. DC is trying something new with the upcoming Wonder Woman trade "Rise of the Olympian" in that they're releasing both the hardcover and the softcover at the same time. Hopefully ti works well and that becomes the norm.
They don't usually do that. So it's not something to really worry about. I think they were trying something different with that trade and it sort of backfired.
Sure. No problems. Feel free to ask it. We're not so strict on rules that if you don't post it in just the right section you're going to be nailed with a hammer. XD |
