I think Danny had a real bad relationship with quite a few characters. Though that did soften somewhat over time. I'm not sure if he and Gar ever buried the hatchet, however.

I don't think Gar holds any animosity towards him anymore, though. I remember an issue back during Geoff's run where Gar said something about how Danny couldn't catch a break even in death.

Ok, I guess I know next to nothing about Danny Chase. What was he before he merged with Azarath and became the Phantasm?

Well, long description short, he was a telekinetic espionage agent (in training) with an attitude problem. As to how he became a telepath; His grandpa was on the Manhattan Project and was dowsed with radiation, the side effects didn't kick in until Danny was born with telekinesis.

Oh, ok. That's alot less interesting... Did he just go by the name Danny Chase, or did he have a handle?

He just went by Danny Chase until he was kicked off the team. He then took the disguise/moniker Phantasm to fool his way back in. He died in a fight with Evil Raven and his soul merged with both Arella and the souls of Azarath; the resulting being called itself Phantasm.

Wjat is with telepaths/telekenetics just going by their actual names? every other class of super hero picks a puesdonym somewhat referencing their powers. But People like Jean Grey, Emma Frost and apparently Danny Chase can't be bothered with such nonsense...

I know, Jean was marvel girl for a bit and Emma is supposed to be the white queen, but niether of those names really stuck much... It just strikes me odd that this lack of code name most frequently occurs with mental powers...

Well, I don't know. I guess they just don't seem to care much for codenames. Though Jean Grey did use the name "Phoenix" on and off over the years.

You know, it's this kind of snobery that, I think, hurts the image of all telepath/telekenetics out there. There's no room in the crime fighting world for super "egos"... Well aside from actual "super egos" without which no person would ever think of being a hero... But you get what I mean

Well, in Emma Frosts case, she is kind of a snob and that's part of her character. I don't think any of the others really think too much about it, though. When you've probably got the power to erase your face and name from someones memories, I doubt you think too much on secret identities.

Oddly enough, Charles Xavier uses Professor X as his moniker and he's never even out on the field, so I don't know. It's probably a case by case basis.

I wonder why Lilith isn't in this cover?

No space, I'd guess. This cover is another homage to New Teen Titans #1 (AKA the second most over-homaged cover in the history of comics). As such, you could probably only put so many characters there.

I guess you're right. Omen wasn't terribly hands on so I guess it makes sense that she wouldn't be rushing in like that.

You know, the more I think about it, Gar and Raven have got to still be on the team by this time because otherwise, no one in the current team would know any of these guys. And it wouldn't be terribly interesting if they were just fighting zombies they weren't emotinally attached to

With Gar ripping Terra in half in BL:T #3, I kinda wonder how he's gonna top that in this issue.

After #76, I hope this doesn't turn out with Cassie and Gar fightin over the leader position while fightin for their lives. Highly doubtful, but we were leaved off with a cliffhanger. Then again, they'd did already fight these guys along side, so maybe there's some common ground.

We're not going to get back into the regular story until #79, so no worries.

I've thought that perhaps that's not Terra, but Terra II. It would make some semblance of sense; if there was ever a way to definitively wrap up the "was Terra II actually the original Terra" plotline, now is as good a one as any. Who knows, really? These issues may not even take place after Blackest Night: Titans for all we know. They could take place before.

Also something to keep in mind; a Black Lantern Terra is showing up in Outiders as well. So I suppose we won't know until later this month exactly what the deal is.

Maybe, I'm not sure anymore. The time line on all of this is wonky. Gar could still be with the regular Titans because these issues likely follow or take place at the same time as those issues... but then does that mean Gar does leave after they boot him off? Is Raven appearing here? I assume so because she was recovering from her injuries, but who knows. Until we see a preview, we might not know what's up.

Though some have suggested the TT #75 & 76 actually take place after Blackest Night, and that's why we get the "TO BE CONTINUED IN #79!" at the end of the issue.

Who knows. I just hope if Gar and Raven appear together, we get a little something to tide us over to the new year.
