You know, I wish Geoff had come up with some kind of Titans centered event for the book. I just got the 2nd volume of Sinestro corps war. Seeing Kilowog drop a aircraft carrier on bad guy was infinetly awesome. Plus Isamot is so friggin bad ass. Space Lizards rule!

Imagine if he had the chance to build up a story with Teen Titans. It would've been so awesome.

Perhaps one day he shall return, I hope so.

By the way, I wanted to mention this earlier but the thought slipped me. Recently my dad went to an autoshow and got an autograph from Adam West, the original Batman. I have to say, its pretty cool.

I wish had more autographs.

You know, I wonder if this book is leading up to something like how the team was during OYL. Maybe I'm just making the connection beacause the cconstantly changing roster makes me think what The team at that time probably felt like, if we had gotten to see them throughout the missing year.

I don't think that's the only reason tho. Something about this cover, it just makes me feel that Beast Boy is taking the lead on this one. And that just makes sense to me. Wonder Girl's run as leader has been rocky at best and I just don't see Gar or Rae re-joining the team under her lead.

Maybe we'll get a Teen Titans team with Beast Boy at the Helm again. This is all probably just alot of hope mixed with conjecture. BB and Rae's focus on this cover is most likely just a method of highliting the the guest stars. However I think it would be nice to see someone else in comand. Right now the book ought to be titled Wonder Girl and her amazing Titans.

Also, whats with no Miss Martian on this cover? Are comics only allowed to feature one green skinned character per cover? Or is she gone because she was the pregnant one in O&O? Hell, Who knows how long martian gestation takes?

Maybe. For one thing, these rumors have to pan out that both are moving to the team. Sources suggest it, but I prefer not to put all my eggs in one basket.

Also, we're not sure what this new writer really wants to do with all this right now. We've had an interview or two, but she hasn't talked much about what she wants to do. She may not even be doing much with the book; she doesn't even know how long she's on for, so it sounds like we're doing a fly by night deal here.

There's no guarantee that Henderson isn't being brought in to kill time until another writer is freed up or whatnot.

To cut to the heart of the matter, I think that's been a lot of the problem with this volume of Teen Titans.

Pre-OYL, much of the focus of the Titans was on Superboy and Robin. Of the older Titans, Raven got the most focus with Beast Boy tailing a close second, but both could be marginalized at any given time for one of the Young Justice sect. Also, way too much of pre-OYL feels like a glorified buildup to Infinite Crisis. Still, at least back then things felt like they were more about the team than any one character and that's part of the strength of it.

Post-OYL feels like where it all went to hell; early on some of the focus was kept on the other team members, but Robin took the lead a bit much. But once Robin left, Wonder Girl stepped up into this role. Sean McKeever was the one who put this forward; he has quite a liking for the character and he had said focus would be put on her growth. As you've said, it's been rocky and the book at times feels more like a Wonder Girl ongoing than a teamup book. Also, there seems to be the incessant desire to go immediately to focusing on Wonder Girl whenever guest writers pop up for the book.

This was actually a major issue I had with the animated series of Teen Titans as well. For something that was supposed to be about the team, far too much of the show revolved around Robin. Much of the time he was the focal point of the storyline or was made important to it in some way. The series was, up until it's fifth season, basically a misnamed "Robin and his Amazing Friends" show. Not cool.

Whatever happens in the books future, it needs to become more about the team itself than just one character. Focus is not a problem, of course, but focusing on just one character is not good. This was what Geoff did right before OYL; each arc might focus on a different Titan or another, but it never stayed there for too long. It felt more like a team book than it did after the OYL jump.

I honestly think no one really knows what to do with her. She was created as an homage to Ben Morse's girlfriend, as I recall, and maybe even partly for an animated series Starfire like character. Since then, the character has been just there and nothing seems to really happen with her.

Don't be surprised if she's a Teen Titan that bails in this arc for a good long while, if not for good.

Man, I'm getting really tired of all this writers limbo...

The first season definately. It lightened up a bit after that, but still not enought for my taste. I was also upset with how much focus he got during Trouble in Tokoyo. However, in my opinion, all the robin emphasis was still worth all the episodes we got that focused on the others.

NOOO!!! I love M'gann. She's one of the only current team memebers that I find interesting at all. Of course, she will be less interesting if Eddie is gone. Why must DC screw up all my favorite characters?..

I am too. But signs point to something big coming down the pipeline. If there's anybody you'd want to get for an indeterminate point of time, it's a television show writer. Nine times out of ten they end up needing to leave anyways, so it's just a matter of the timing.

Maybe, but I thought it didn't truly take hold until the fifth season. We had all the focus on the other Titans around the world, spotlight episodes on the other Titans and Beast Boy took charge and shined. Every other season emphasis was still put on Robin; and the people involved in the show even admitted this.

I'm not a big fan of the show in general, but I liked the fifth season; it was the one season where it truly felt like the show was about all the different members of the team and other assorted Titans instead of Robin.

Well, if they don't know what to do with her, they don't know what to do with her. Sadly, this seems to be what we're looking at. This is just conjecture on my part though; she might not be leaving. I'm just speculating.

We've got a preview for the issue, yo; check it out:
Spoiler: click to toggle

Gotta say, the covers we've been seeing in the solicitations for months now have been very rough, but they clean up nice.

I like the preview, though I wish the younger Titans would stop being dicks to Gar. The girl he loves is hurt. Where the hell else would one expect him to be but by her side? Gar should turn into a falcon and literally Falcon Punch them all.

I'm hoping Aquagirl and Bombshell are out before too long. I really don't see the point in having them around. Especially when Bombshell is a poor substitute for Ravager. Perhaps Miss Martian can stay, but with Beast Boy and Raven rejoining the team she becomes quite redundant.

I'd support a Falcon Punch.

Jeez, guys and gals. You act like you've never card about anyone at all! *rolls eyes*

And a big yay on Gar saying "Titans Together." That's my awesome leader. ^_^

Meh, he still looks like Wolverlennon on the cover a bit. I'll let it slide.

I'm sure this time around Gar will kick some ass. His last tenure as leader didn't fair so well, I'm sure he's learned from the expierience.

Anyone else getting an Evil Dead feel from those Wyldthings? I'm waiting for them to jump up and declare “DEAD BY DAWN!” to be honest.

Did *****ed-up flipper baby just call on Zule? As in Ghostbusters Zule? Thats hilarious!

Still doesn't change that fact that Cassie and the rest of the girls need to hike their jeans up a bit. Still, glad that Raven's tan is gone, and Gar looks more mature if you second look him on pg. 5, kinda has a early McCoy thing goin on.

Falcon Punch? But that would only stop teen pregnancy!

Still not happy with the kids being pretty rude to Gar. But the "Titans Together!" roar made me happy!

I hope nothing 'bad' happens to Miss Martian though. :(

I didn't mention this earlier, but I feel so "SQUEEE!" at that panel of Gar holding Raven's hand. He doesn't even have to say "I love you" for us to see that it is so very true. ^O^

umm... Are Gar's eyes going to stay yellow like that? I mean, did the artist color the last issue, then make a decision this issue that the white's in BB's eyes should now be yellow?

Also, Dr midnight saying that Raven has been weakend sounds like exposition for a plot device. Like they wanted to power her down a bit and this is how they explain it. Maybe they felt that they needed to shift her powers a bit so that she and M'gann wouldn't be doing the same stuff...

I tend to get annoyed most when Jamie does it. Other than Wonder Girl, he's the one out of all of them I figured would understand. If his girlfriend Traci 13 were in the same position, you can bet your ass he'd be at her side.

I hope this one goes better. The failure of Gar's first tenure as leader really, really pissed me off. Of everyone, he's by far the most capable of leading; he's been in the game and having adventures since he was very, very young. He's not the comic relief anymore; he's grown into a man and the thing I'm liking about this so far is that Felicia seems to understand that.

Considering Felicia is doing good with Gar, I'm willing to let the quirks slide. I've been waiting a while for someone to come to the Titans not named Geoff Johns who understood him.

I'm used to it. It doesn't bother me anymore. Say what you want in regards to good taste, but I've seen quite a few teenage girls over the years who wore their pants too low.

Eventually, it just doesn't even phase you anymore.

I know. The art just tells the whole story. :ohsam:

I doubt it. I think this might be used as an explanation for her behavior in the past. That or they're going to use this as a way to actually define what she can do. Since OYL, it hasn't been all that clear what she can and cannot do with her powers. That's a no-no.

Megan is still going to be kind of redundant though, so I'm not going to be surprised if she bails.

One thought I had recently is wondering if Miss Martian was going to be on the League. She appeared recently in "Justice League: A Cry for Justice". It would make sense; she could take the place of Martian Manhunter as the heart of the team. They are similar in a few different ways.

What happened to J'ohn?

You know, I've read alot of bad about the recent Teen Titans runs, that I almost completely forgot about ever trying them out. This was before I decided to go ahead and read the Wolfman/Perez NTT. It sounds like it's a good thing I started out way back in the day.

Even so, it baffles me how for 1. new writers try to tackle stories with very well-known characters without going back and familiarizing themselves with the chracters they're portraying. I, for one, don't even consider writing a silly fan fic without feeling good about how well I know the characters. And 2. how harsh some fans can be. Considering all of this, it sounds like it's nothing new at all, having a some downtime reguarding a certain title. I mean sure, I see how people here sort of pick at things, but no one completely rips it apart. I respect that quality here; I really do. Opinion should be offered, not crammed down another person's throat.

I'm certainly not saying that I know near as much as everyone involved in these discussions but I enjoy reading them anyway, just because of the insight everyone has. Hopefully one day I'll be able to join in and toss ideas back and forth, instead of making rather random comments. Haha.

Anyway! What I can say about this preview is that I agree with Changling and Dl. The art really does tell the story. That panel was very squeel-worthy.

What I don't understand is why everyone is acting the way they are towards Gar. I mean, has he really not gained any respect in their eyes? He's been through a lot for someone his age. That alone should garner some respect.

It has me really annoyed, like everyone else. However I'm hoping that we get to see Gar take control of the situation and by the end of it finally have the others think twice. I hope.

I guess it's 'cuz they still kinda consider Gar as the class clown and so have trouble taking him seriously let alone their leader. But I think their view of him will change soon.
