Surprising life choice?

Oh crap! She's getting a sex change!

:O

Too much?

Anyway does this mean the end of the Titans' book? Man, didn't last long did it? I mean, 18 issues and thats it the team's already breaking up.

Okay really, I know this can't be the end of the Titans book because they just got a new writer and they would've said final issue or something. Still its weird, I mean it feels like Ed Brubaker's Captain America all over again. A Titans book without a team? Hmm, just seems out of place really. Could they pull it off?

So considering both Gar and Raven are making apparently "shocking" decisions (Shocking in quotations of course because we all know how solicits work) you think they're going to kiss, make up and possibly do more?

Hell no. It's just one of those transitional things that sometimes happens before a new creative team takes over. Most of them will be back; especially the ones without a home elsewhere.

Donna Troy and Wally West might not be back, though. Wally's going through a transition with Barry Allen back and Donna comes and goes whenever no one knows what to do with her. Red Arrow is a possible for not coming back, but I'm inclined to think he will.

Everyone else of the Wolfman/Perez Titans will be back in short order, I'm sure. Aside from Dick. The whole Batman thing and all.

Judging by the Teen Titans solicit and the general tone of this one, I'm thinking hell yes.

From the looks of it we also get to see Red Arrow's kid. Hmm, from what I've heard that will be a treat.

Yes, kinda hard to be Nightwing when you're kinda filling the role of Batman replacement for awhile. You know, I still kinda think it would've been more interesting if Comissioner Gordon ended up with the cowel. I mean, he's the second most awesome hero in Gotham next to Batman.

So, Starfire, Cyborg, Beast Boy, Raven and possibly Red Arrow along with Tempest I'm assuming.

Interesting roster, although it makes one wonder whose leading the team when theres no Bat-Spawn calling the shots.

I also read somewhere the new writer mentioned some of the Titans may uh... you know... Bow chicka wow wow.

Should we... consider that a possibility? Or should we not count chicken before they hatch?

The current Nightwing isn't even a member of the Bat family. The identity is currently being used in the Superman titles.

Somehow I don't see the Commish filling out the costume and leaping from rooftop to rooftop. He's not young enough for that kind of crap anymore. XD

I'd wager Cyborg. He's been pushed over the past several years as sort of an interim leader whenever there isn't a Bat spawn around to spout orders. He was technically the leader during Geoff's Teen Titans run, remember. Didn't show it often, but he did have his moments.

Well, I don't want to get ahead of myself, but I will say this; I don't see too many others Eric could have been talking about, especially with Kory being unable to satisfy her insatiable lust for Dick.

Fair enough on Gordon I suppose. He's still bad ass though and anything would've been more surprising then giving Dick the cape and cowl. I mean, everyone pretty much expected "Yep thats gonna happen", would've been a nice twist if someone else ended up as Batman.

Cyborg's a good candidate I suppose. It would be a nice change of pace to be honest. Someone other then a Robin leading the titans would suit me fine.

Very well then, lets just hope its carried out with a little more finesse then some of Dick and Kory's little excapades. Those two need a to lay off on the pheromones and just talk for once, preferably with their clothes all still on. We'll see how it all goes for Gar and Rae, but till then I'll keep my fingers crossed.

You know, this pretty much takes care of the Wolfman/Perez Titans as far as the "day in the life" issues go. So I figure this probably means Eric Wallace's run will start in November. It'll definitely be post-Blackest Night: Titans.

Huh, with any luck Eric will fix some the crappier elements of the book and make it a little bit more fast paced and interesting. From the looks of it ever since the Jericho story hit the story has dragged and the book's lost readers. Thats at least what I heard from you guys over at RBSU.

With any luck come November I'll have books besides Deadpool to pick up at the local comic store. We'll see.

Cue the soap opera organ music.

Vic, most likely. But with the alleged "team-up" with Gar and Rae on the next TT issue, it kinda brings back the Geoff John days when those two were in charge during Superboy Prime's little episode. This could be leading into another shot at that.

I didn't doubt you, DL. Too much, anyway...

But "Yay!" for a Raven issue and "Boo!" for changing the team

I'd say the issue of leader ship will probably stay where it is With Donna at the helm. If anyone else I'd say Cy, but with the way theis book is moving (seeming like a revival of the original five) I wouldn't count on him staying on the team, much less their leader.

Not hoping for any of that, I might add.

As for the possibility of Raven and Beast Boy "hooking up" I actually hope not. I want them together, and certainly want there to be sex somewhere down the line, but Raven's case is special. She is a child of rape, and phsycologically, children born from rape generally have a very negative view of sex. And even when they get over there negative feelings toward it in general, they still have a great fear and hesitance toward having sex themselves. Add on top of all this that not only was she born from rape, but rape with the intent of ending the world...

Not to mention that the first (and only) time that Raven was willing (tho very hesitant) to have sex with a man, he turned out to be using her to syphon energy off her (or something like that, it was in the wolfram/perez era, he was a cyber-vampire or something)

The issue of Raven being comfortable with sex needs to come in incriments. First a long, slow trust has to be built. Check. Love has to develop and grow deep. Check. The issue of sex needs to come up (either directly or unintentionally). Thanks to OYL we don't know if this ever happened. After it is brought up, and she explains her discomfort, he has to tell her that it's ok and that sex isn't important to him. Again, we don't know if this happened. Then the relationship has to continue until she feels she is ready and instigates the sex herself.

Now her "shocking" actions could be this last step, but I really hope it isn't because it would advance their characters much more if we could see all the other steps before it...

Sadly, no. All's quiet on the preview front. Which is odd, as I'd expected one. It looks like we're going to have to wait until Wednesday.

No worries Crazy! I'll have a scanner set up anyday now and once I get the book tomorrow (or possibly Thrusday if they are treating Columbus Day like they do with the bigger holidays) I scan a post whatever strikes me as particularlly important.

Theres a preview out now on DC Comics website. It's nothing particularly special. But it does seem that Raven is after Da Trigon Boyz (I could have sworn they were dead, but I'm not going to push the issue) and she saves an orphan from occultists. No mention of Beast Boy in the preview; it's mostly her rescuing the Orphan on her own.

Yes, on her own; I swear, they're really pushing Raven as a fighter way too much for my taste.

Gonna have to wait until later for any details about what happens later. You could always go to their site to check it out though if you're curious.

@King: That would be most exellent King! Thank you very much ^^

@DL: Yeah I checked 'em out this morning. Nothing really special like you said, although I kinda did like seeing Rae being able to throw a few punches. In fact, I think it's the first time I've seen her do that.

Finally, some mention of her brothers! I was wondering what the heck happened to them.
