Yeah, mostly its the BL thing like Debby said. But also note that Pantha as a character was meant to be the no-******** tell-it-like-it-is character. So she did say things like that to Kory before; I remember she used to always call Dick out on the fact that he'd be too busy screwing Kory to notice certain things going on around him. Sometimes she could be funny, but much of the time people felt that she was just being a dick about everything. That's what ended up polarizing so many Titans fans against her, why she went into limbo, and eventually had her head punched off by Superboy Prime. |

I'm surprised no one has posted my scans from this issue yet. The most relevant part for us: Gar finally puts Terra behind him. ![]() ![]() ![]() And with this, I think the deathknell has sounded for BB & Terra. |

DE! DE! Did you see the little Bruce Campbell-esque quote at the beginning with the stegosaurus? That was awesome. Oh I'm mean, but I do love this scene so much. Finally conclusive 100 percent proof this ship is dead for good. I have this horrible urge to send it to certain BB/T fans. But I'm better then that. Well that's it for that stupid pairing, let's all go out for frosty chocolate milkshakes! |

I suppose that finally puts the Terra business to rest. I hope. Also undoes the retcon Brad Meltzer tried to impose. I suppose that's one bit of good news to take from the week. |

*looks at scans* A little cliche when I say this, but PWNAGE, sweet pwnage. Okay it's official, Kurl ROCKS with Gar. Hopeful, he can put a few things things right in TT #77. |

We may have to wait Ghetto, the conclusion to all that drama is in 79. But Krul will be in full swing by then, hopefully he'll have settled into all the characters and got to know them a bit better then the last writer. |

Krul isn't writing #79. He's writing the Blackest Night tie-in issues. Which may have little to nothing to do with Gar or Raven. |

Ok, first off, Gar should know better than to attack someone as a cheetah. They are the weakest wild cats out there aside from the occelot. Second, Holy Hell Gar went all out on her! Third, although it's good to have the whole Terra thing officially resolved, I really don't like gar's whole speech about his girl being out there "somewhere" and that he'll "find her" He's already found her and he knows where she is, dammit!
Which retcon is that? Is brad meltzer the guy who did the Terra mini? cause if that's the case and you're saying that the whole story about Terra II turning out to not being the original terra but one of those sub-terranian creatures who lost her memory and got all confused has been undone, then I'm all for it. I mean the way that they explained Terra II being Terra was conviluted, but it was done and when the mini came out it basically said "um, pretend we never said this. Because this is what we want the story to be now..." |

That was probably a veiled reference to Raven. Raven didn't appear anywhere in the entire mini nor was she even referenced that I can recall. Seems they wanted to keep this particular plotline down to Gar and Terra and resolving it once and for all. Not that it really needed resolving to begin with, but at least this is pretty definitive; not to mention I suspect the point of the plotline was as much cleanup as it was anything else, thanks to Brad Meltzer.
The writer of Last Will and Testament of the DC Universe. Slade goaded Geo-Force and told him he'd drugged Terra. Brad Meltzer was a major Terra fan when he was younger and was "crushed" when she was revealed to have been evil all along. He didn't want her to be evil, so that was obviously his attempt at changing that. As of this mini, the point is moot by now; whether she was drugged or not, Gar see's and knows who she really is. A phony and a fake. Irregardless, it seems to have been undone; to which I say thank goodness. |

If he said "she's out there somewhere and I'll GET her..." then I might buy that, but the "Find" her thing makes it soulnd like he's open to the possibility that it could be anyone and he won't know until he looks around
Darn, I was really hoping you meant that the Terra mini retcon was undone. That bothered me to no end. I mean Terra II was retconed three times now. Who the hell is she?!? and if she wasn't the original Terra, does that mean we'll see a BL Terra II as well? she's certainly dead enough... |

I wouldn't read too much into that. First off, remember this mini series was written out months ago, at least since last summer. I don't think they were quite sure what they were going to do with Gar's love life at that time. And also, DL's point about wanting to keep this story tight is a valid one. Mentioning Raven at that point would probably have confused too many people (remember, the bulk of the readers of BN:T do not follow the normal Titans books). Besides, think of it from Gar's point of view: at the moment, he's not entirely certain what Raven's feelings are, and the last thing he wants to do is to repeat the same mistake he made with Terra -- namely, falling in love with someone who doesn't reciprocate. Something he's just been painfully reminded of. All in all, I wouldn't draw too many deep conclusions from this. The more important -- and relevant -- parts of that story are happening over in Teen Titans, and over there Gar definitely has Raven on his mind. EDIT: You know, Gar is really, really brutal when he finally tears into BL Terra. Look closely, he's using his claws to tear chunks of her away. At the bottom of the middle page, she's down to her skeleton. Thats... disturbing. A little pent up anger there, Gar? EDIT II: You know, perhaps it is a little premature to say that we've seen the end of BB & Terra. I absolutely expect to one day see them again as a couple... in an alternate universe setting. The whole Terra thing is one of those instances that just cries out for a "What if?" scenario, to be featured in an alternate world where outcomes happened differently and a different status quo was established. Frankly, I'd be all for that, if it were handled right. But in the main DCU? BB/T is dead, dead, dead. (Cue Dead Parrot sketch.) |
