Is it creepy that the first thing I thought when I saw this cover was "Rule 34?"

Eh, not too much. The cover does kinda give off that tentacle rape vibe.

All I thought of was Thriller. Honetly though, thats pretty much the only thing I've been thinking about since this thing was announced. Zombie stuff, Romero, Shaun of the Dead, Return of the Living Dead, Marvel Zombies, Resident Evil, Dead Rising, Stubbs the Zombie etc.

Well thats what it is guys. This whole event is DC Zombies. Except its not a virus thats causing this its rings. I can't really think about it without imagining dead heroes rising from the grave and demanding brains. Also doing the Thriller dance... crotch grabbing and all.

You know, since they only mentioned a Black Lantern Hawk in the solicit for #2, and since this cover focus is on the current Dove, I'm betting that the powers of Harmony that the Doves are representative of will have something to do with the Titans getting out of this whole mess

That's certainly a strong possibility. The solicit mentions a secret weapon. Of the past Titans, only the Hawk and Dove really qualify. Rooted in chaos and such.

We won't know until things start, I suppose.

Well, you could look at it that way if you really want, but that would be selling the concept short. Geoff's had this general idea for quite a while. A good deal before Marvel Zombies was even announced, if I recall right.

Well to be fair its a lot more interesting then the standard zombie plot. Marvel Zombies always appeared to me and came off as "See your favourite super heroes eat people's brains!" and wasn't any deeper then as a funny little concept played more for campy laughs then anything.

But here the theme seems to be dealing with loss, death, how it affects people, how it affects ourselves when we expierience it first hand. Old friends rising from the grave, now working for a bad guy, us having to fight the people we cared so deeply about, facing some of our greatest demons and nightmares all the way. Not to mention the many ramifications of the dead coming back to life that range from the spiritual to the psychological.

I can tell the story is deep, I just can't seem to get past the whole fact its zombie heroes so I fall back on Marvel Zombies. Its shameful I know but I can't help it.

Oh well, its not all bad. If theres one awesome thing that came out of Marvel Zombies its the Zombie Deadpool Head.

I can't express just how glad I am that this isn't going to be like Marvel Zomibes. Which isn't to say that I didn't like Marvel Zombies, it was certainly good for a chuckle. I'm just endlessly glad that this seems to be going away from the pop-culture, mindless, brain eating zombies. From what I can tell, all the Black Lanterns are just simply undead and they will be thenselves (all-be-it their "evil" selves)

First and foremost... Yay on the Halloween format! it is way too cool.

Now on topic, I love this cover. Particularly how Baby Wildebeest is hanging onto the logo where Koala Gar was. Also, anyone else notice how the hands with their rings are fading?.. I wonder where that may lead...

That is interesting. I wonder if it's an indication of something that might happen with the Black Lanterns or just an artistic choice on George's part. I'd suspect the latter, but there's always a chance it could be the former.

Preview for Blackest Night: Titans #3.
Spoiler: click to toggle

For some reason, when Gar changed into that Stegosaurus, I imagined him saying "OH IT'S TIME BABEH" in a Juggernaut Bitch type of voice before he nailed Terra.
