Would the Donkey Kong Country games be considered a part of the Mario universe? You know. Since Donkey Kong is a Mario character.

Mario himself is not involved, so not really, no.

Granted, it's the SAME damn story every single time.

Not EVERY time.

Just, like, 95% of the time. :)

The only exception I can think of offhand was Yoshi's Island. But I don't know if I should count that or not. It was really more of a Yoshi game than a Mario game. [/QUOTE]
Super Paper Mario?

Maybe Mario Sunshine? I don't remember what happens in that one.

Never played SPM.

Mario Sunshine had the same basic thing. Peach was kidnapped a third of the way through and, surprise, you had to rescue her.

Ah.

SPM is a great game, but it follows a new group of bad guys and Mario, Luigi, Peach and Bowser are all playable characters, which is fun.

Speaking of: Mario Brothers 2 had a different story line... even if it wasn't ever supposed to be a Mario game. :D
