Well Tempest's from the description didn't seem bad.

It was one of the four issues I mentioned as being good.

Is it the same guest writer for Raven's issue too?

No. It's been a different person for each issue. If I recall right, the Cyborg issue - which was #14 - was done by Eric Wallace, whom is supposed to be the new ongoing writer for Titans once all of this wraps up. The Tempest issue - #15 - was JT Krul. I don't remember who did the Star issue, which was #16, but this one is by Pat McCullum.

The next issue - Ravens - is going to be by the guy who is the writer of the new Batgirl monthly. You know, the one that just launched with Stephanie Brown (the Spoiler) as Batgirl. Which, from what I've heard of the first issue, isn't half bad. Pretty sure he just wrapped up a three issue guest arc on Teen Titans as well. I think the guy is Brian Q. Miller, but I may have gotten the name wrong.

I'm starting to feel that my letter to Paul Levtiz was greatly ignored. :annoyed:

There aren't exactly many characters that fit that description in DC animation. Just the AS Pantha (whom's comic counterpart was beheaded) and Wildcat. And Wildcat is not animation exclusive.

True, but we saw her as a BL on the cover of TT #77. If they were goin to turn the titans into their AS counterparts (God forbid), I doubt they'd included the DEAD ones. But then again, if it is her, it would explain the "disembodied heads" thing, maybe. The mentioning of death or disembodiment and then adding a BL to the picture just kinda makes sense to me.

AS villian being the first, the second thing that peeves me is Beast Boy’s Pérez-era haircut. God, why are they trying so hard to bring THAT Gar back?

You know if I ever get as good at writing as I want to be and decide to do some Comic books for the heck of it first things first I'll actually read up on the history of the characters and try to reflect that before jumping headlong into things like these people seem to do. Its only fair to the characters themselves.

I think I know which animated character is going to be making their debut into the DCU. I heard buzz about using this character in the comics awhile back and it never happened. Also the fact that this is a Beast Boy story and the mention of someone sniping the changling.com web handel makes me think further. I am betting the debut is non other than Control Freak.

Oh, for the love of...

I really hope not. He was a one note joke in the show; an excuse for the writers to reference old shows and movies. Fun for that reason but not a serious character. I can't imagine him going far in the comics.

Hell, they brought Mas y Menos in and we know how long they lasted.

I'm not saying I'm happy with it, but if you put it all together, it makes sense. lantern cos-play, wrestlers (which don't normally show up in everyday life) floating heads (which never show up in real life) not to mention refferncing BB's old beatles hairstyle.*

*as for that one, I'd imagine that during the battle, CF zaps Gar's hair and changes it to the "classic" style to throw him off.

anyone who wants that autographed copy, by all means use my guess, I'm sure you win it.

That wasn't a real offer; the guy was joking.

Hmm... I'll have to see how this plays out if you're right. To be honest, the idea of introducing a new character in the midst of Gar's spotlight issue doesn't sit well with me. That takes setup, which takes pages. It makes the issue more of Gar co-starring in the spotlight.

Eh, meh.

If this is the case, I suspect this preview is about as far as that conversation about stuff is going to even go. I doubt they would be able to waste too many more pages.

Don't forget, they introduced Nano in Vic's oneshot, and he latter showed up in Teen Titans as part of the new Fearsome Five.

I actually missed that issue, so I didn't know they brought him in. It sounds like they might be using these fill-in "Day in the Life" stories mainly to get some animated series characters in that they hadn't already and get it out of the way. Probably figure that they're basically just killing time right now anyways, so why not?

Comes off that way to me anyways.

I don't think Nano was from the animated univers. If he is, I never saw him. I was just making a point that they are willing to introduce new-to-the-comics characters in the one-shot stories.

Actually... I wasn't joking... I'm just the kind of jerk that likes to make others feel like jerks when it's not warrented

Hmm. Well the name sounds familiar either way. Or it could just be a case of me being an idiot and mistaking the name with another.

Nano is a pretty self-explanatory, and therefor often used, name. I'm sure somewhere a ficticious character used that code name before...

Hmmm, Control Freak in the DCCU.....yeah, they're running outta ideas, or at least feeding way too much on the stupid ones. I'm startin to hope the entire run of these spotlights just gets ignored.
After readin the the entries and reviews on the DC blog, the only comfort I feel is knowin we're not the only ones who agree with this crap. Hopefully, this might change a few things.

I think that's how it is for all the made up AS characters. I mean think about it, there was an Easter Island-head alien that had the attitude of a 3yr old and was named Soto, as in Alex Soto the director. Then we got a tofu cube that somehow gained sentience, a punk rocker/biker guy that's more of a nuisance then a threat, an austrian guitar anarchist, and some hag with candy-themed magical powers and a mass-produced army of gingerbread soldiers.

Yeah, the comments for the preview were pretty unanimously negative. I think maybe one person was even remotely interested after the preview. The rest were just annoyed and/or turned off.
