Twilight...anime?

He's a vegetarian vampire, that's another problem with it. A vegetarian vampire? Really? Okay, if you wanted him to be a vegetarian for comedic purposes, maybe that could work. I mean, look at Count Duckula, it's an old animated cartoon about a vampire who was resurrected the wrong way, and now chews on vegetables. Yet he still can't go out into the sunlight or he'll turn to dust, so at least part of the vampire mythology is kept intact. It works in Duckula, because it's a silly cartoon, it's not meant to be taken seriously.

But the way vampires are portrayed in Twilight? A novel series that's geared toward drama and romance? Yeah. I don't I think I can take that seriously. You'd just get yourself laughed at.

Now, I don't mind "vegetarian" vampires, really. I mean, not ALL of the vampires can be all evil, nasty blood suckers that feast upon the blood of beautiful women.

Again, I think that was her way of making the idea of vampires seem less cliche. THAT and I think she was trying to direct the book towards a younger audience. She didn't want to go for Anne Rice Vampires, because I think she WANTED young teenage girls to go crazy over her vampires.

Its the only thing that can make sense to me, anyway.

I'm not saying all vampires have to be nasty, and evil.

They just gotta remain bloodsuckers. :P

If the author really wanted to make vampires less cliche, she at least should've made the changes more creative. LM had pointed out, in the Stupidity Thread, that there is a group of cannibalistic people in Fallout 3 that are like vampires, but really, they aren't. They crave human flesh, but they fight that craving. So, what do they do to get over it? They drink human blood. There you go, a way to make vampires less cliche without being too stupid about it.

Again I point out that her stories have not been drafted as much as other stories. They still sound like first drafts. She had no help in making the story better, so she had no way of knowing of her flaws in the book.

And if she did and chose to ignore them, then she shall be shot in the foot. Or her writing hand. Either one. :)

This, people, is why I'm gonna take a writing class, and get some help in making "Leather Punk" better as I write it.

She died in the end, duh. XD Don't know how though. YAY Buffy Spoiler! -_-'

She died at the end of the fifth season. Her friends brought her back to life--ironically tearing her out of heaven.

She's alive at the end of the series. ^_^

As for the article, there is not a headdesk big enough for this news.

That wasn't the last season though. She was back in the next one. There's even a comic series that basically serves as an eighth season (with Joss Whedon writing arcs, of course). A comic series that has been very well received, mind you.

She died, like...twice. XD I didn't watch the whole series, but I could have sworn she died in the end, right before they started the spin-off of "Angel." But then again, I'm probably wrong, as I usually am.

What ever. ^_^

Buffy lecture teim! *dons graduation cap and robe*

AHEM

Angel the Series started after the end of the THIRD season of Buffy, with the premise being that Angel left Buffy after realizing that their relationship was doomed from the start. It ran alongside Buffy for four years, and in the FIFTH season of Buffy--the second of Angel--Buffy died. She came back to life in the sixth season--Angel's third--and the two shows ran alongside one another until Buffy ended. Angel continued for a fifth season until it was canceled in 2004.

...

Oh come on, dl gets to be knowledgeable about things. Can't I have one or two? *kicks stone*

This is relevant because Buffy is awesome, stunningly written and full of believable, relateable characters who screw up, but are in themselves likable.

Twilight is none of the above. :D

FFFFFF-

I'm sorry, but when I read about Twilight the first time, it sounded like a shoujo manga to me. Now, it's coming a reality, and it makes me angry...

I'm all for fandom and everything but this will just get girls who are already into twilight to see the anime, and most likely then say, "I LOVE ANIME LUL."

and they won't.

They'll like Twilight...the anime...

Ah, just great. Just when I thought the rabid fangirls might finally settle down somewhat and be content with squabbling over problems with the movies. And then, Japan, you anger the spirit of contentment by renewing interest in the series with an anime? Curse yooooou!!!! (But not too much, because you fo make lots of other awesome stuff.)

Oh, wait, crud, I just realized something. If Twilight is turned into an anime, then we will have on our hands rabid Twilight fangirls, capable of producing rackets of riot-level individually, combined with already-existent and new converts to anime-fangirlism, who are capable at shreiking at levels that can pierce the human eardrum with deadly accuracy at the slightest hint of hotness or canon relationships. If my calculations are correct...this spells the begnining of a worldwide epidemic of deafness!! Everybody, warn your friends! Grab all the earmuff and earplugs you can find! Stock up on them like they're canned food in a zombie apocalypse!!! Prepare yourselves for unheard-of levels of fangirl squealing!!!

Seriously.

They made anime for calculus? CALCULUS?!?!? No! No! Nonononono!!! Does not compute! NO! *starts flailing arms and foaming uncontrollably at the mouth*

Okaay...the combination of Twilight with anime results in an equation like this: screaming Twilight fangirls+squealing anime fangirls=high pitched squeal/screams that coud have the power to deafen the world, thanks to the number (and volume) of Twilight/anime fans out there.

Wow. I made CraZy's brain melt. Should I be proud, or upset?
