Well, today I had to take my cousins to go see this movie Coraline at the Imax Theater. At first, I thought it was gonna stink because it seemed girlish and it featured the voice of Dakota Fanning who I'm not that big a fan of. Instead, I got treated to probably one of the best 3D movies I've seen in my life! Sure, it was really weird. Buttons for eyes, crazy hands, ALL MESSED UP STUFF! I thought it was awesome, but REALLY weird! Henry Selick has made Nightmare Before Christmas and James and the Giant Peach, two of my favorite movies and now he's made this beast. ![]() Anybody see it yet? |

I saw it today, I quite enjoyed it c: The thing with movies that involve Tim Burton is that you know it's gonna be slightly creepy; I enjoy that the most in his movies. I thought the story was really good and I enjoyed the animation~ ...the only thing that was weird was that when we went into the theater, there was only 4 previews... usually there's 6, or at the least 5. |

Big whoop. Previews are a waste of time. Even worse, whenever I go to see a movie at the theater, they actually have COMMERCIALS playing now! IDIOTS!

It's weird because the original story was by Neil Gaiman, same guy who made MirrorMask and Stardust. ![]() He's a lot like the Tim (Freaking!) Schafer of writers for me. The fact that it's Henry Selick directing the movie is the frosting on the cake; it fits with the story, so why not? |

Neil Gaiman stories are generally somewhat trippy at times, so color me unsurprised to hear this movie is freakadelic. The thing about it is that they're very good anyways. He's kind of like Grant Morrison in that respect. I actually like some of his comic work the best. I want a Sandman adaption aready dammit!
Did any of the 3D feel forced at all? Sad to say it, I actually haven't seen any good 3D movies. It's always implemented poorly or an arbitrary gimmick; which is pretty much why the fad came and went decades ago. Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare is the first example that comes to mind for me. Yuck. |

With the success of this flick, I'm pretty sure that Neil's work would be in demand for another movie, and with the upcoming comics movies on the horizon, it's a safe bet that Morpheus and the rest of the Endless will be on the big screen soon. |

I'm hoping for an adaption of "Death: The Time of Your Life", myself. You got a Sandman story you'd want to see adapted dude? |

Meh, "Death: The Time of Your Life" sounds good enough. If not, then "The Sandman: Brief Lives" would be awesome. |

Well, I finally saw the movie. Man was it creepy, if you ever want to introduce your kids to a horror movie this isn't a bad choice. It might even scare you a bit. I liked it, it was done well, the music was pretty good and overall the characters and story were colorful and fun. I'd highly recommend it... although be prepared to get weirded out. |

I have to say, this is a pretty good movie. I feel like we need to work it into KH:O somehow. |

I was actually thinking the same thing, but I'm holding off until I can think of something that would work. |
