It generally doesn't follow a set format, but it's the biggest wrestling show of the year and the one you never really want to miss. It's always set up to be a showcase of the WWE's talent and often has stellar matchups. It's an event, to say the least. The biggest the WWE has on Pay Per View. Often, it's the culmination and payoff of many of the years storylines and rivalries. The most you can really think of as far as a format goes is that there's generally certain things you can depend on. Usually, every heavyweight title is on the line in a match at Wrestlemania, which would mean three championship title matches at this year between Raw, Smackdown and ECW. Also, it's become tradition to have a "Money in the Bank" ladder match; wherein instead of a title, a briefcase hangs above the ring which contains a contract allowing the winner a title shot at any date or time of thier choosing, without warning, at some point before the next Wrestlemania. It usually involves up to eight people and the winner is the man to climb the ladder and unhook the briefcase. Why this is a big deal is that it can be cashed in at any time and any place; CM Punk memorably waited until the champion was knocked silly by someone else before rushing down to the ring without warning with a referee to get the pinfall and the title. So far, everyone who has won a Money in the Bank ladder match has gone on to win a heavyweight championship. Also, you can usually depend on an Undertaker match, where he so far has always pulled out the win, leading to an unprecedented sixteen win and zero loss winning streak at Wrestlemania. Wrestlemania is often a special event where you're liable to see some special things. It's also part of why the WWE is so big these days. The first couple Wrestlemania's brought wrestling to new audiences which laid the foundation for the years to come. Even WCW, the WWE's chief opponent during the Monday Night War, owed a lot of it's success to Wrestlemania breaking new ground. So far, not everything is set, but the matches confirmed for the card so far are: WWE Championship Match: Triple H vs Randy Orton Money in the Bank Ladder Match: CM Punk vs Kane vs six ATM undetermined superstars The Undertaker vs Shawn Michaels |

So, Wrestlemania XXV has just wrapped up. Four hours of wrestling action. It's probably not going to be anyones favorite Wrestlemania of all time, but it had some decent contests and one pure classic in HBK vs Undertaker. My thoughts: Spoiler: click to toggle

Sadly, yes. XD Honestly, I felt it was unnecesary. I don't mind these kind of silly comedy bits at all. It's the kind of things that have been missing from wrestling for a long time now. But to have Santino win the Miss Wrestlemania thing, when it's basically supposed to be celebrating the Diva's in general, was a bit... stupid. Perhaps a better idea would have been to have had Santino and one of the other Diva's go over the top rope at the same time, I dunno. Better than having Mae Young in the match and win as we know would have happened had she not been deemed too old to wrestle anymore I guess. Either way, I think you'll enjoy it. It wasn't the greatest Wrestlemania, but it had quite a few good spots. Plus the Undertaker vs Shawn Michaels match was a classic. |

The yearly WWE Draft has wrapped up; both main and supplemental. The main was done on it's usual spot on a three hour special of Monday Night Raw; the supplemental was done over the internet. Here are the results. Spoiler: click to toggle All in all, Smackdown seems to have benefitted the most despite losing Triple H. Not only did they drop some of their dead weight but they actually gained some larger stars to not only make up for it but actually draw interest to the brand amidst it's declining ratings. Gaining guys like Rey Mysterio, Kane, Mike Knox, Chris Jericho and CM Punk is a big deal, especially considering Smackdown has been lacking much in the way of star power aside from Undertaker and the-now-drafted-to-Raw Triple H. Raw conversly seems to have fared the worst of the deal. They gained Triple H and the Big Show, sure, but lost a lot of their bigger names. The only others brought over that will turn heads are the Unified Tag Team Champions, the Colons, Matt Hardy and possibly The Brian Kendrick. One way or another, don't expect both championships to be on Raw past Backlash; there's no way the WWE would allow it. ECW made out well enough. They lost The Miz and Morrison but also lost a bit of their chaff while keeping the guys ECW turns in to see. Had they lost Christian, they'd probably have been in trouble. |

Okay, I may not be a huge wrestling fan like everyone, but I watched a couple of matches for fun and everything. I think I'll always like Hulk Hogan though, its the moustache really, I mean, come on, that thing is awesome. Anyway, the reason I'm here is because of this review I saw on a comic book a wrestler wrote... this wrestler: Okay, this guy is officially one of the most batfug insane people I've ever seen! He's right above that guy at the town hall meeting screaming about some helicopter pilot following him home and waking him up at night cause of some conspiracy to keep an ice rink lacking its ice. Seriously, I find out that the WWF let THIS GUY take the belt from Hulk Hogan! The hell? Why? How was this nut job popular? I mean, I watched the documentary from the WWF about him, everyone hated him behind the scenes. He apparently tried to squeeze out Vince McMann for more money right before a high profile event was going on and vince had to fold or Warrior wouldn't go out and do the match and therefore he'd dissapoint all the fans in the stands. I mean, after that stunt why'd they'd bring him back? Vince fired and rehired him because the fans wanted him back! Mother of ******* god man. I hope I'm not offending any Warrior fans still out there, its just, I don't see the appeal. All I see is some mental case screaming at me, I think its hilarious if nothing else. |

What Warrior fans? You should look up his blog sometime LM. The dudes completely nuts when it comes to politics and a total prick. He also has a big mouth. It's pretty good for a laugh. To be honest, the only reason Warrior was even popular was because he knew how to energize the crowd opening the match. Otherwise he was a terrible wrestler. His matches were always disgustingly formulaic and he had about four or five real wrestling moves, none of them impressive. The only reason he had the belt was because Hogan was looking to get out of the spotlight at the time and enter movies - not only did that not really happen at that point but we know how that ended for him anyways - and they needed the torch as the WWF's heavy passed, otherwise I don't know if he'd have been given the time of day. Most professionals in the business hate him. He threatened no-shows relatively often; from what I know Sgt. Slaughter and someone else - I forget who at the moment - were going to beat him down if he showed his face. After he threatened a no show at a pay per view for more money McMahon just fired him. Then when he was brought back later? Started no showing events there too. I remember he was booked to be in a six man tag match at one of the early In Your House pay per views. Bailed on it; they needed to insert Sycho Sid in the match to help generate some interest. Of course, he has an excuse for everything, but you can tell he's full of it. On the comics, no one would remember those if it weren't for the "Santa Rape" issue. |
