So I've seem to have really gotten into WWE a lot recently. My favorite wrestlers are Triple H, Rey Mysterio, Undertaker, Shawn Michaels and John Cena. And of course various others I like too. Here's my wweuniverse page, incase anyone else here has one http://fans.wwe.com/crazy18gurl Ok I just finished watching the Survivor Series. Thought the first tag team elimination match was great. Too bad Crime Time were thrown outta the mix from Shawns team, but I wasn't really so suprised by that. Though, when JBL got counted out, his face was totally priceless xD The divas match was hilarious actually. God those girls know nothing about team work ![]() Omg, the casket match was awesome. They way Big Show tried to get rid of the coffin but then they suddenly bring out another one. Hehe, suweeet. The second tag team elimination match, meh, I kinda perdicted Batista's team wouldn't win, but still dissapointed. The WWE Championship match. God damn was that match boring. You can imagine how glad I was when Vickie suddenly showed up, I knew something was up. But when Edge showed up, I was all wtf?!? Totally was not expecting that! I mean I heard that he was gonna return during Survivor Series but ya know it was still all pretty unexpected. I mean for one thing, the beard and all, lololl. I actually thought that since Jeff Hardy wasn't gonna be in the match anymore, it'd be just another boring match that Triple H was obviously gonna win. But then Edge took the championship, I was so not expecting that! The last match, Jericho vs. Cena was awesome. And I guess it was pretty obvious that Cena was gonna win it. I didn't get to watch the next episode of RAW, just saw bits on YT, but I checked out the review for it on the official site. So Jericho becomes the the number 1 contender to face off Cena one more time. Mehh I dunno, he just faced him, think it'd be more interessting if it were Randy. DISCUSSSS! |

Ahh, I remember the first time I got into the WWE. Back when Raw was first starting, Shawn Michaels was the intercontinental champion and the Quebecers and the Stieners were fueding over the tag titles. I was a sporadic watcher back then, became a regular viewer in 1996 when Shawn Michaels won the WWF title the first time and stopped bothering sometime after Wrestlemania X8, except for tuning in sporadically; usually to watch Rey Mysterio. Your favorites are pretty much the same as mine. I've been a fan of Rey in particular ever since he came to the WWE four or five years ago; and I was both surprised and elated to learn that Rey had held the heavyweight title while I was away from wrestling. Had I of known that, I may have come back to wrestling sooner. Rey always struck me with his entertaining high flying moves. I've even watched some of his WCW matches; and he was great then too. Undertaker was just always a favorite of mine, even when he was a heel (like in the days of the Ministry or Big Evil). I cheered for him when he went on to Wrestlemania 13 to win his second WWF title (and his first major reign); despite also being a fan of the reigning champion, Psycho Sid. He used to be my great grandmother's favorite wrestler; I sometimes wonder what she'd think of his career since she died, where he's literally become a big deal and a major fixture in the WWE. I've been a big fan of Shawn for equally as lon g, even during his heel phase (and the Degeneration X phase especially).
I can't say I was surprised either. They've been jobbing to other teams a lot lately. It's unnerving, considering they were in the midst of a decent push not so long ago. Then they just suddenly became a team specifically to job to others. Kind of annoying.
I hate to say it, but if there's one thing that I think is a weakness in the WWE right now, it's the Diva's. It feels like none of them can live up to the past ones aside from maybe Mickie James; and the dive matches Mickie isn't in are often incredibly boring. Besides that, I can't help but laugh at a ridiculous ring name like the Glamazon. That's the sort of crappy nicknames WWE would have given out a long time ago; I hadn't expected it in today's wrestling. It's as bad as "The Ringmaster"m Stone Colds debut name.
I expected it, but hated it all the same. I'm honestly sick of Randy Orton. I groaned when he came back to Raw to run his mouth weeks back. I was hoping for a little more time away from him.
I expected it to be. Triple H's opponent just generally sucks when it comes to wrestling. I think the WWE knew it too, hence the surprise return and title win by Edge to make up for what was guaranteed to be a lackluster match.
Mmm, yes and no. I wasn't particularly sure they were going to give him the title his first night back. I figured there was going to be a cowardly out by Jericho with something like a countout; the old standby of the WWF's legendary heels like the Honky Tonk Man and Money Inc. Then I suspected there was going to be an angle where Cena has to rise back to the top of the mountain. I'm happy with what happened regardless though. Heel Jericho has been getting on my nerves lately. We've been through this phase; and it had gotten tiresome the last time.
Raw last night was okay, in my opinion, but not quite as good as previous weeks. Still, it had some decent matches and I was generally pleased by it. Which is all I can really ask from my entertainment. To entertain me and leave me satisfied. I wish the tiff between Stephanie and Shane McMahon had felt a bit more natural though. It didn't feel to me like Shane was into it as much as I would have liked.
I was hoping it would have been Batista, myself. I'm really not happy with either Jericho or Randy as heel's right now. I just feel like they don't have what it takes to be really dispicable. Randy's just annoying, and not in the good so-annoying-you-love-to-hate-him sort of way but simply annoying, and I've already gone over Jericho. I miss the days when the WWF/WWE had the sort of legendary heel's you loved to hate. Guys like the Million Dollar Man Ted Dibiase and Yokozuna. |

He's alright. I do still find him kind of annoying, but it's one of those humorous ways where you're glad to have him around. He's not full on annoying like heel Jericho. Slammy Awards Three Hour Special tonight for Raw. I'm surprised they brought back the Slammy's. They haven't been seen since '97 or '98, so considering the ten years without them, I was pretty sure they weren't coming back. They used to be a regular fixture in the World Wrestling Federation too. I thought by this point it was something from days gone by. It's enough to make a guy get nostalgic. XD ********* Well, the three hour special just ended. It wasn't bad at all, with some decent matches. One or two were disappointing though. I was looking forward to the main event "Champion vs Champion" match, which of course Jericho had to butt into, ending it abruptly. The after-match shenanigans made up for it though, with Triple H, Edge and Jeff Hardy going in a three way brawl. It's enough to make me want to get the upcoming PPV, Armageddon, which would be my first one since Wrestlemania XX or around there. |

I should really just watch WWE on YT instead of waiting till Wed/Thursday to watch on my cable o.o Ok so Armageddon airs tonight...or is airing as I speak...I have no idea about the whole timezone crap but I can't wait till I get to see it. My predications, well, this one's a tough call. I only hope for Rey Mysterio to become the Intercontinental Champion and for Triple H...well, I want him to be the WWE Champion but maybe it's a bit too early for him to get the championship again. I was rewatching the Survivors Series match of Jericho and Cena with my dad, and I gotta say...no doubt about the strenght Cena has but...he's not sooo...skilled. I think Jericho is much more talented then he is but I dunno, I like Cena, but I think it's his character that appeals more to the fans. As a wrestler, he's good, but not so skilled. And I'm kinda getting bored with him...have no idea where this suddenly came from but it's how I've been feeling o.o |

Yeah, you should. It'd help you keep up. Armageddon should air in about twenty minutes here in New York. I was honestly considering snatching it, but the power here has been spotty all day and the last thing I'd want to do is buy a three hour pay per view only for the power to cut out halfway through. When you find a way to watch it online, let me know Zai. I'd kind of like for Triple H to be the champion again too, but I think you're right. It may be too soon. That said, I've been enjoying seeing him as a face for once. My prediction about this match is that it's likely to be Edge retaining by the skin of his teeth. Probably by pinning Jeff Hardy or something. Jeff might be a possibility, but after all the times he's screwed up in the middle of the WWE giving him a large push, I'm not sure they'd have him as champion until he's gone a long, long time without incident. Cena's always been a bit more of a brawler than anything else. That's actually why some fans of the WWE don't really like him. He's not the most technically sound wrestler around, but he's got charisma, which is half of why I suspect he's become such a big thing, even if he's not as good as The Rock, who was both the most charasmatic wrestler WWE had and a great wrestler in general. Me? I like him well enough. I don't fool myself into thinking I'm going to get a highly technical match though. I generally treat it like I would a match with the Undertaker. I'm there for some excitement, which they generally give. Jericho's definitely the better wrestler technically, I'll give you that. I'm very sick of his heel persona though. It got old very, very fast. I think that's the biggest thing he's got going against him; he needs a better heel gimmick than coming out every night and calling the fans hypocrites and such. The same speech stopped sounding evil about the sixth time we heard it. ********* On a side note, I've been watching the twenty disc Royal Rumble collection through my Blockbuster DVD account. It's surprisingly interesting to watch how the WWF has evolved over time. It's also interesting to watch how the matches evolved over time, from extremely technical manuevers to slowly integrating more high risk tactics. I didn't realize how much I missed wrestling until recently. |

WWE was really something during the ealier years. Now, I sometimes find it more like sitcom xD Gahh, Armaggedon still not available online. Ya know I really can't imagine Jeff Hardy staying Champion for long. I like the dude, but seriously...I really can't picture him as a WWE Champion. At least not for long. |

I can. The Hardy's have always been a big draw when it comes to merchandise and fan reaction. The WWE has pushed that for years now. They've also tried giving Jeff pushes before now towards the belt which were summarily screwed up by relapses into drugs. They've been looking to have him as champion for quite a while now, so unless Jeff screws up again, this will probably be a relatively lengthy reign. He better not screw up too, because this is likely his last chance. His previous run ins with drugs cause the kind of incidents and bad publicity that get people fired.
To be fair, it's better now than it was around the turn of the century in regards to the soapish qualities. I was happy to see it was somewhat toned down when I came back to wrestling; back in the turn of the century close to half of one of the weekly programs could be taken up by story. The difference though is back then they had the sort of wrestlers who could also carry that amount of story which is less true now. I miss the WWE having great heels. The Million Dollar Man is one of my favorites from the old days. Bobby The Brain Heenan was the best heel manager. Yokozuna was an effective monster heel. The WWE seems to lack those intimidating or even good heels. The ones they have now have an annoyingly big mouth that you just want them to shut. Then there's Kane, who's the only monster heel they have; and he's practically laughable. *sigh* |

So, the Royal Rumble Pay Per View just ended. On the whole, I have to say it was rather satisfying. Not as great as some of the previous Rumble PPV's, and I've been watching those on DVD of late so I know, but when it ended I was satisfied. The results were: Spoiler: click to toggle I may have to start buying more WWE PPV's again, if this one was any indication. |

I'm gonna go watch some of RAW segments on YT but I wanted to ask. What exactly is the format of Wrestlemania? I mean what is it exactly? Before I was never a regular watcher so I didn't know much about all there was in WWE. I never bothered looking it up but now that I watch WWE regularly I've been curious. |
