This had happened in the first time the Teen titans fought Trigon. Raven assembled the Teen Titans specifically to fight Trigon. They beat him and he was imprisoned in a seperate dimension, with Raven's mother Arella as the gatekeeper of sorts. This was all within the first issue of the Wolfman/Perez era, mind you. Honestly, there were very few similarities between the comics and any of the shows adaptions. They completely missed the point of Terra, for one. Brother Blood was useless in the show. Slade was a bwa ha ha villain. Season 4 was a poor adaption of a landmark storyline. Yeah. Bleh. |

So then, I'm guessing it was the episodes that weren't part of a storyline that were more likeable, like Mad Mod for instance? |

Mad Mod was just a goofy episode; and it worked in that context. That was actually one of the best episodes the series had; and one of the few I actually liked. So yeah, the oneoff episodes were better overall. We're way off topic at the moment though, so let's veer back towards Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe discussion. |

I was just going to say that, good little discussion on the Teen Titans series though I will admit I would've loved to contribute to it. So Deathstroke definetly looks sweet, now of course I'm wondering who else will be revealed in the coming months up to the release. Whats a hero from the DC universe that would fit this kind of game. Black Adam perhaps, after World War III he's earned plenty of bad ass points. And no, this is not because he killed Terra, although tha does play a part in it. He killed a lot of people in his rage, he was pretty damn awesome and for a lot of folks it was one of the better storylines to come out of 52. Theres even a novelization of it. Also Martian Manhunter, he can do some pretty cool things. As a shapeshifter you can do all sorts of attacks with him. Even do the classic "I can phase through your punches" trick. Theres also the magic villians. Being the MK universe is based more in magic then science it would be easy enough to translate say Zatanna into the game. Green Arrow or Arsenal... yeah both of those guys would make for an awesome character introduction I think. Focusing of course on ranged attacks and quick meele punches I think. You know, one moment I'd really like to see is Scorpion throw out his spear rope thing and telling Batman to "Get over here!" only to have the move countered by Batman grabbing the spear rope and pulling Scorpion towards him instead. That would be pretty sweet. |

Well, to answer that, I talked around. No news about any heros, but there has been a few villian contributes. Sadly, no Lobo (yet), but we do get the universe's biggest badass.. ![]() THANK YOU, MIDWAY. |

Oh, please let his fatality be the omega beam. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE. Oh, and, uh, we get Lex Luthor as well (sorry, no image yet). Weird, but, hey, if Joker can get in this, then so can Superman's arch foe. |

Eh... not so enamored with Lex Luthor in the game. Really, despite his iconic status, he's one of those villains I've never thought much of for a fighting game, but whatta ya gonna do. That just gives me an excuse to beat him down with Darkseid or Deathstroke. Hell to the yeah. Thinking on villains, you know who else would have been good for this game? Bane. He's one of those Batman villains who would be perfect for a game like this. |

Immediately, when I think of Bane, I think of the time he broke Batman's back. That alone would've been enough to get him into a fighting game like this. |

There has been rumor of Bane as a secret character, or Killer Croc (probably to be a counterpart to Reptile). As far as secret characters go, I've been knocked around; Black Adam, Nightwing, Martian Manhunter, Lobo (hopefully), Etrigan, Ravager, Hawkman and woman, Black Canary, Green and Red Arrow, even Cyborg. Plus people have been stating Doomsday, Brainiac, and Imperiex as boss levels.
Unless they have him in that kryptonite suit, he'd be pretty tough in that. |

Oh, definitely. He'd lend himself very well to something like this. Gotta say though, one thing that makes me sad is that really, that's mostly what people remember about him. I've seen far too many people think of him as nothing more than a brute, when really he was something much more. His amazing intelligence hasn't been showcased enough, I think; after all, he didn't just take Batman on straight up, he systematically broke down the Dark Knight over time before he moved in for the kill. Not directing this at you or anything Soni, just a little elaboration on my part of how I see Bane. XD Well, Bane's on Secret Six now, so I'm hoping writer Gail Simone shows us some more of his vast intelligence.
Of those, I only really see Nightwing, Bane and Lobo as possible. Cyborg would be completely awesome, but he's really not a big enough character for the game. Hell, Nightwing is about the only Titan big enough in popularity to make this first title, I think. Most of those are great possibilities, but I think we'll have to wait for a sequel before we get our hands on such. I would have personally switched Captain Marvel for Black Adam, myself. Captain Marvel is great, absolutely, but since we're talking about a violent fighting game here, one would think that Black Adam would fit far, far better.
True, but it still seems a bit cheeky. I mean, we know Lex is far from a brawler. Even with the suit... I dunno, he just seems an odd choice to have in something like this. Maybe they'll prove me wrong and he'll be fun to play, who knows. I just think he could have been dropped in favor of someone else, really. |

Well, he's a batspawn, it's not surprising. Yea, he was..and, uh, is the leader of the Titans, but with his favored solo series and his role in the "Gotham Universe", I kinda have a hard time calling him a Titan.
Hey, they've managed to put Superman in this 'Rated M' game, and he's practically the definition of boyscout. But, yea, Black Adam rocks. Personaly, I those people are right on the bosses. I'm itching to unlook Doomsday and reak some mindless destruction. |

It's actually not rated M. It's going to be rated T. How the hell they're going to pull this off when we have Joker shooting Katana in the head, I haven't the foggiest. Seeing Superman in said game is indeed very, very weird, but with him, it doesn't matter. He's one of DC's three most iconic characters; the game could be a bloodbath and he'd have to be involved in some way. Captain Marvel, not so much, which is why I think Black Adam would have been a far more fitting choice. I mean, this is the guy who pushed Psycho Pirates mask right through his head and killed Terra by punching right through her sternum. Like Lobo, hyper violent things like a game such as this just suits him to a tee.
Honestly, I've associated him with both pretty equally. For the most part, Dick's been a bit of a Batman family outsider for a while, only just recently having more of a role in things. For a time there, the only place you could see him was in New Teen Titans and even when he got his own solo, we barely saw Batman or the crew show up most of the time. Really, he'll always be a Titan to me. That's the place that just sticks with me the most. It's probably the highest caliber title he'll be around in; I don't really see him in the JLA. |

Mortal Kombat???Rated T??? The game that generated one of the largest public outcry and controversy??? Well, since DC is involved, I guess that's the reason for it's rating change.
Yea, Black Adam's pretty one of the few DC people you don't wat to come across on a bad day. Still kinda pissed the he took out Terra, or the fact that Terra was taken out.
Seems the only way I can connect him as Titan is with his relation with Kory (guess that's why I ship that too), but hopefully the new series will help win me over. |

Well, yeah; DC wouldn't want to have their heroes doing fatalities. But it really seems like Midway's gone to town trying to make up for it. The DC villains have fatalities, after all, and for the first time in a long time, it's been confirmed we will see characters with multiple fatalities. Plus the Joker fatality was so spot on.
Honestly, I was not surprised when she was. For the most part, she had little role in anything since her reintroduction in the Team Titans thing. We rarely saw her. Frankly, it made one wonder why she was even brought back. When I heard the talk of a new Terra, I knew number II's days were numbered. I guess it bothered me less because I was of the opinion that she should never have been brought back to begin with.
Well, I can't really stop thinking of him as such. After all, he's really been a part of every incarnation since damn near it's inception, with the exception of the current volume of Teen Titans and the second one with Atom and others, which everyone agree's barely even qualified as the Teen Titans. |
