He seems to have the right idea. I also like his enthusiasm. But I don't think they're going to get it right the first time. They'll likely need to refine everything in coming sequels before they find the right balance. We'll see if this can be good. |

Yeah, I gotta concur. While I think this'll be a good game, there's bound to be at least a couple of mistakes they'll need to fix for future games. |

The level, Abadat, has been revealed today, which is clearly based on South America. Can you handle HD? No? Pf. Fine. |

Looks good. Only real hiccup to me is the rail grinding. I really think that was one of the worst additions to the Sonic series. But by this point it's pretty much here to stay. |

I didn't really mind the rail grinding in Sonic Adventure 2, since there was only some of it, and grinding was optional. But when Sonic Heroes came, there was so much rail grinding, and grinding was an absolute must if you ever wanted to clear a level. I thought it was just for this one game, but then it came back in Shadow the Hedgehog. Albeit, not to the extent of Heroes where there was too much of it, but there were some parts of it where you had to grind to get past a level. Sonic Riders was acceptable, I think, because it was a racing spinoff. But then, the large amount of grinding returned again in Next-Gen, and by that point, it got ridiculous. Anyway, couple of new updates for ya. Japanese website has been updated, with two new character profiles and renders of Dr. Eggman, and Chip. http://sonic.sega.jp/SonicWorldAdventure/#/character I gotta say, Eggman hasn't looked this good in a while. Also, another Wii trailer, this one showing off the Shamar level. |

Grinding is usually extremely aggravating because of the control schemes. Heaven forbid you be on a long stretch of grinding rails and accidently jump off the rail instead of leap to the rail beside you; because if that happened, guaranteed you were going off into the ****ing void. Worst part was there was never a way to save yourself at the last minute. That grinding level of SA2 was a giant, AID's inflicted whore. I don't mind the grinding rails if they're something optional. Like down the staircase. But when it's mandatory to get through, it's infuriating. Let's not get into the spotty Advance series grinding. That was just cruel. |

Ah yes, I forgot about some of the grinding levels in the later parts of SA2. Especially the space levels. Yeah, the control scheme, mostly when it came to jumping from one rail to another, was f###ed up. Don't know how my brother managed to put up with it. Guess he has a longer fuse than I do. |

I put up with it mostly because I'm a persistant bastard when it comes to video games. That damn rail section had unfairly killed me numerous times. By about the fifth time, I was not giving up until I had the satisfaction of gettign through. You can bet your ass though that I wasn't exactly jumping at the chance to do the level over again. I hated those damn space grinding levels. The thing the grinding sections fail to do is keep the balance between fun, fairness and difficulty. The grinding sections are almost naturally unfair, because they're basically a set track and if you somehow get off it, you're pretty much screwed if you're sent careening into to the abyss. They'd be a lot more tolerable or even, gasp, fun, if they weren't required or suspended over gaping pits. Then it would be so much less of a problem. |

The grinding in the later games didn't really require you to jump from one rail to another that much. Most of the time, you were just grinding on this one, singular rail that was suspended in the air, going up, and down, and all around, crazy zig-zags, and loop-de-loops galore. Was it fun? Sure, the way the rails went, up and down, and all different directions was a bit creative, but no. It wasn't fun. |

Apparently, there was an alternate box art for the game that Sega had scrapped before they came out with the final design.![]() Well, why'd they do that?! This one looks a bit more epic! It hints a bit more at the game's story, with the world crumbling to pieces behind Sonic! Instead, they decide to scrap this, and fill the final box art with pretty colours?! Ah, whatever. Doesn't matter, I suppose, as long as the game's good. |

So then, this box art isn't really scrapped, just being used for Europe? Well, I heard it was scrapped, but I guess that must've been false if it's being used for Europe. Even so, it's a shame I won't be getting to see this lovely cover. |

It's no secret that Sonic Team and Sega have been a bit hush-hush about the PS2 port of Sonic Unleashed. Well, recent news have turned up about the Japanese release of the game, stating that the Japanesey people won't be gettin' no PS2 port of the game. Maybe this a sign that the PS2's finally dying off. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Backyard_Football_'09 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beatmania_IIDX_14:_Gold http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dance_Dance_R...Channel_Edition http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dance_Dance_R...ion_SuperNova_2 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dancing_Stage_SuperNova_2 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dynasty_Warriors_Gundam http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guitar_Hero_Aerosmith http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeep_Thrills http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kingdom_Heart...ain_of_Memories http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Mummy:_To...or_(video_game) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NASCAR_09 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Need_for_Speed:_Undercover http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ratchet_%26_Clank:_Size_Matters http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shin_Megami_Tensei:_Persona_4 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silent_Hill:_Origins http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Spiderwic...es_(video_game) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thunder_Force_VI http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tomb_Raider:_Underworld http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WWE_Smackdown_vs._Raw_2009 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yakuza_2 Alright, well scratch that. |

Dynasty Warriors Gundam is awesomesauce. However, of COURSE the PS2 version couldn't come to the states. ![]() Oh well. I'll just nab the sequel when I get a next gen system. |
