Now now Soni, control your manly rage. Frung didn't know what he was talkin' about, but that's no reason to devour his soul or nothing. |

Control? What is that exactly? Seriously, Al, he didn't do his research. If he had been the one who started this thread, and I was in his position, I'd have the sense to look back on the thread, and follow up on the updates he was posting. |

Now. Ask me a question. I looked back on the thread. I know things. I'm not an idiot (or less of one) now when it comes to unleashed. |

Psh. Whatever. If you say you're finally caught up with Unleashed's development, fine, you're caught up. Just make sure you know what you're talking about next time before you post. |

Moving on. Camp Sonic just keeps those updates coming. Now we've got official scans from the earlier-mentioned Portuguese magazine. http://www.campsonic.com/wp-content/galler...ed_maxi_pg1.jpg http://www.campsonic.com/wp-content/galler...ed_maxi_pg2.jpg http://www.campsonic.com/wp-content/galler...ed_maxi_pg3.jpg |

I'm definitely not fond of them trying to shoehorn real life locations into thier games. That said, they had my attention when New York City came into discussion.
Maybe not, but the massive thread derailment is enough for me to. Seriously, this thread jumped two friggin pages overnight and there wasn't even any real discussion. This isn't the "stupidity" thread. My manly rage is strong enough to devour them both. |

What, is it because of Alex living in New York, or is it because that city's been used in many different fictional universes before? |

Alex lives in New York City because, quite frankly, it's where all the action is. It's the same reason Frank Castle haunts the city instead of, say, California or even Nevada. It's the city where everything happens, even in the world of superheroes. Hell, more than forty percent of Marvel superheroes take up residence in NYC. The Teen Titans operated in NYC during the Wolfman days. Batman shows up from time to time. Nightwing makes his operations there. Most of the time, when superheroes live elsewhere, it's in fictional cities created for the characters (see Batman, Superman, Birds of Prey, etc.). What can I say? It's a hell of a lot more exciting a place than most cities. Which is why it's always welcome in a video game world. Though I still think it'll clash with Sonic, of all franchises. Another city I wouldn't mind seeing in game is Las Vegas. It's another one of those busy cities with a lot ot see and/or do. Colorful too. Plus it would help fill the damn near necessary quota of the Casino-esque level. It'd be another in the annoying real life city quota, but what the hell; we're running with it, so why not. |

Las Vegas in Sonic Unleashed, I can definitely see happening. Plus, why not New York City in a Sonic game? Sonic does like highly industrialized cities, and basically a lot of other places with lots of movement. |

True. It just clashes with what I think makes a Sonic game. Really, all the real world stuff seems just so out of place. Sonics world has always been bright and colorful; New York City is dingy, muted and always alive with activity. It's just like if they tried to place Mario in New York City. I mean, yeabuwha? If the games great, I can forgive it. But it still doesn't change that it goes against the core of the franchise. More and more, Sonic Team keeps taking the Hedgehog furthur from where he came from. Oddly, Sonic in Las Vegas actually makes more sense than Sonic in New York City. But again, we're running with the real life locations thing. So I'm gonna have to stuff my criticisms and try to enjoy the game regardless. They seem to be trying to do a lot else right. |
