It was alright. I was really blown away by this one... too many RonHerm moments. I was annoying the crap out of JC1070 with my DracoHerm fangirl spazzes, I was really pissed off. Draco was hardly in it! Tom Felton deserves more than that! Idk why I am so pissed, he was hardly in the 5th book anyways. *pouts*
Cho was ugly, Jayy and my friend Kate were cracking up. We were the only ones in the theater LOLing when Harry Potter kised her. We were all like She's got a mustache! XDDDDD
The affects were good, the scene where Ron's brother's disturb the O.W.L's is so funny. The effects were cool as well. It wasn't as cool as Transformers... I give it a 4/5.

I agree, nothing will ever live up to Transformers...lol. But it was pretty good, a decent addition to the Potter series. Of course I love all the movies...

How could you possibly live up to Optimus friggin Prime?

Transform and roll out! >=O

You know, is it just me... or does the fandom of Harry Potter seem more concerned with ships then the actual story? I haven't been to any general places for the fandom, but what I have seen has been quite rooted in pairings, and that's pretty much it, aside from the occasional theory of Harry dying. O_o

Really it was way too rushed,I got completely confused with the plot because it was being thrown around and about.

Umbridge and Luna were the two amazing characters.
With Umbridge you REALLY have that feeling of standing up and throwing her to the wall. I SERIOUSLY had to hold back on trying to do so.

Now Luna, she was so gosh darn amazing,I can't explain it. She's better than I imagined while reading the book. Her voice was ultimately soothing and her eyes as well. Utter talent on her part, I have to say.

Sirius' death was pretty badly done.
*gasp*
*fall back*
*Harry screaming*
Not at all what I hoped and imagined.

There was a lot of things that I disliked, but the main thing: SIRIUS DIDN'T GIVE HARRY THE MIRROR! Whhyyy?! That would have been the perfect tear breaker!

They cut A LOT of things that would have been interesting and put things that really where not..

Like I said, some of it was good, other's where okay, but a lot of it was just bad.

I don't plan to watch the Transformers.

I jst saw it today, but I gave it 3 stars. Everything went too fast for me. Like that one scene where after Harry tells Dumbledore about Mr. Weasly, Snape come in and right away gives Harry Occulmmeny (sp) lessons. I was like "Wha?" And Draco was in the whole move for a whole minute or so. I need more Draco!! And there should have been more Lupin and Tonks. It needs to build up to the TonksxLupin moment in HP #6!

Umbridge was done beautifully. She was one twisted witch.

I agree to a certain degree.

I loved the movie though, and yes I have read the books. But, for a book that's all about Harry being angry and just development, it was good.

Like I said.

If you have read the book, Movie = Awesome or a "Meh."
If you haven't read the book, Movie = BOO!

But, w/e. I WANTED MORE DRACO TOO! I SQUEED EVERYTIME I SAW HIM! I LOL'D when they were running to the room of requirements xD

I love the RonxHerm moments. Finally this movie didn't have so much HarryxHerm -.-

Umbridge was such a b!tch. I swear I felt like b!tch slapping her so badly. Luna was AWESOME! That girl was like the perfect image of Luna Lovegood in the book.

I too, would have like some RemusxTonks. Also Ron making the Quidditch team would have been awesome.

But for Draco fans like me! Movie 6 will DEFF have major Draconess. I just hope Tom Felton stays T_T

I <3 Mindy

I thought this was one of the better movies of the Harry Potter series. It kept to the plot, but not so much that it was a complete copy. It was its own animal, too. Granted, if you haven't read the books, you'll be a bit lost, but I think people going to see this film have either seen the former movies or read the books, so yeah...

Frankly, I'm not much of a Draco fan. I guess I'm one of the few girls who isn't. ^_^

And ships can get crazy, DL. I've learned to sigh and shrug. I like a lot of ships in Harry Potter, but I'm not hard-core about any, so it makes me laugh to see people go crazy over them. It's just as bad over at ASN.

Out of everything in the movie, the things I loved most were, one, Harry wasn't such an ass to his friends. I swear, I would have slapped him in the book. Little emo boy...shut the heck up already! Anyway, number two, the awesome fight scenes. Short, but sweet. And, three, I adore Luna Lovegood.

Now I just need to go see Transformers...

I so agree with Cha. I loved it, it was the best Harry Potter film in my eyes. I really didn't seem all that hard to follow if you didn't read the books, but that's just me. The girl who acted for the role of Luna, the actor truly got her down, and her ear rings are so funny. I loved her voice, it was so soft, it I want her to sing me to sleep.

The magic scenes where.. amazing. The magic between Albus and Tom was.. so intense.

You're right, True Beast. She got the character down pat. I loved how dreamily she spoke. Just how I imagined Luna, to tell the truth. And I agree with you about the fight between Voldemort and Dumbledore. It was awesome. Then again, I love fight scenes, so yeah. It was intense, since it is, basically, the best two wizards having it out.

It isn't just you, DL. I've been feeling the same way ever since I first discovered about Harry Potter. If you leave out the pairings and only concentrate on the story, it still can't compete with the Lord of the Rings, or the Hobbits for that matter.. It all revolves around Harry confronting the Dark Lord, and how everyone will stare at him at one point in each book. I started following the series because of a ship, really. And it's a ship that everyone will keep bashing no matter how many times I say "I only ship it for fun".

I guess the ships in HP is what keeping them alive for such a long time. And I don't plan on joining the shipping conversations. I heard it's scary. It's even more scary when they start a hate-campaign over the actress who plays Cho Chang. :pc:

As for the movie, it was pretty decent, like every other Harry Potter movies. I have... ugh... let me just copy my review from my DA journal:

I never rate any of the Potter movies as "amazing!!" or '"it's LOTR quality!!", but I did enjoy the Order of the Phoenix. It was better than the Goblet of Fire at least... in terms of acting, special effects, and directing. But, Harry was a bit emo though. Not that I'm complaining... 'cause it's pretty much inevitable to prevent from any of major movie characters from being emo at LEAST once. I loved the kiss though... or shall I say, make-out session? And the battle scenes between the Order and Death Eaters were great too, along with of the final showdown between You-Know-Who and Dumbledore with Harry going Darth Vader for a short time.

Done... now leave me alone! D8

Truthfully I'm surprised at how much was actually put into the movie. Being the longest book to date, they seemed to get alot of the important things in. Still, they did cut a lot of things out, and the Sirius Death scene was shaky in my opinion. I did like Luna though, she was really well done, but it seemed to me like Harry was severely playing the field...

He made out with Cho, and seemed to be very frindly towards Luna, and of course there's always Ginny...

Apart from those minor details though, I think this was a great movie. I was afraid that it would kill the movie series, but it seems to be stronger than ever.

I just hope they don't cut it. Otherwise, there won't be a final movie because you killed the director. *shudders and clings to Peter*

To be honest I will repeat what my sister has always said.

"A Harry Potter movie should be at least 3 hours long and the book will always be better then the film."

I tend to agree, although i did find the themes covered very well done. And Luna Lovegood was well played.

As for Quidditch... face it guys, by this time its been cut out of the films... we'll never see it again, resign yourselves to that fate and we can move on.

You and everyone else in the Harry Potter community Soni. And just because I'm a little ticked they left it out I'll explain away one glaring plot hole from the movie. Umbridge ordered the Dementors to take out Harry, to shut him up and do the ministry a favour. She admited to the kids in the book. For some reason that plothole was left open for all to see in the film. Oh well, another reason for us to kill Umbridge.

I agree with Changeling on the Voldemort and Dumbledore fight scene, now that was some high paced wand casting. No sheild though... oh well... maybe they thought it was cheesy. In any case Voldemort is high on my list of evil nut jobs I have a lot of respect for. I love to hate him cause he is such a devious murderous *******. He went as bad as you can go after all and this movie does prove it.

Voldemort: Harry Potter, you're a fool, and you will lose ... everything.

Sends shivers up your spine.

My brother wanted more screaming from Harry at Dumbledore for basically ignoring him throughout the movie. Oh well, at least movie goers now know everything... sorta. The book explained it better. But the gist is, Harry or Voldemort is what it will all come down to, one cannot live while the other survives and only they can kill one or the other. Dumbledore didn't want to say anything because he didn't want to burden him with the truth. Thats the long and short of it.

And Dl, yes, the shipping is a big part of the fan base. Luckily there are just as many people interested in the story as they are the relationships... they just don't talk as much.

Cat is gonna explode with wild squeals with all the Draco stuff in the next film. That is, if she hasn't left the franchise if Draco dies. But we all know that won't happen... maybe.

By the way Changeling, my sister hates Draco, so you aren't the only one not fond of him. Me and Cat came to an understanding about him, he's a filthy Nazi wizard punk but because he's fictional it doesn't really matter... something along those lines.
