Age of Mythology From Ensemble Studios, the creators of Age of Empires and Age of Kings, comes Age of Mythology, a game that transports players to a time when heroes did battle with monsters of legend and the gods intervened in the affairs of mortal men. Taking on the role of one of nine ancient civilizations, players guide their people to greatness by commanding all aspects of their empire: gathering resources, raising massive armies, waging war against enemies, establishing profitable trade routes, building new settlements, enhancing production or military might with improvements, exploring new frontiers, and advancing through four distinct ages. In their struggle for supremacy, players can use mythological creatures like Minotaurs and Cyclopses to bolster their armies' strength. Players may also call upon the gods for assistance in flattening enemy towns with meteors or scattering opposing troops with lightning storms. Age of Mythology: The Titans Expansion Age of Mythology: The Titans adds a fourth mythology, the Atlanteans, to the existing Greek, Egyptian and Norse mythologies in Age of Mythology. A new single-player campaign will add yet another chapter to the expansive panoply of ancient folklore along with the addition of new scenarios. Atlantean players will be able to call upon the might of the Titan gods (such as Atlas and Cronus) multiple times throughout the game, and may also upgrade human units to heroes. The expansion pack will introduce 12 new god powers, 15 new human units and 12 formidable myth units to the game...click here for more. Rating: T for violence and bloodshed. Click here for the character's profiles. Click here for some screenshots. All in all, this is a great computer game. It’s an entertaining war game that involves tactics, critical thinking and it has a lot of action. The graphics are even better, if you have a good graphics card. The scenarios aren’t those quick, little mini-games that you find in some tactic games. It may take a long time just to finish one scenario, but hell is it fun! With great characters in the game, along with heroes and myth units, it makes things a lot more interesting than just plain war tactics. My rating of the game: ***** (Out of 5, of course.) WARNING: It’s highly addicting. Once you start playing, you can’t stop. XD |

Yeah I've played that, its an awesome game, very original and I agree with you its addictive. I can't decide what civilization I like besy, Norse is awesome cause they're an awesome mythology and a special Dragon unit, Egypt has a giant ship eating turtle and laser Crocodiles, Greece has the Hydra and lots of classic monsters. I like them all really. You picked out a pretty damn good game Selene, I salute you for it. |

Hmmm. Well. the Norse soldiers can build buildings while other soldiers can't. So that's a major advantage. On the other hand, you're right about the Greeks because they have such awesome myth units. So I agree with you on that. And thanks but I didn't discover it on my own. ^_^ Damien got me into it. XD |

Dl always does have good taste in games. Yeah, the norse are pretty good with that soldiers build anything ability, it makes things easier to repair. Plus you can set up shop anywhere. Forward attack posts and hidden war factories right next to your enemies base, pouring out man power and smashing their defences, always a plus. |

I've played both. Honestly, I prefer Age of Mythology to Age of Empires. The whole mythology addition seemed to enhance a lot of it for me, and some of the creatures were damn awesome. It's not horribly hard to find an RTS based on empires and the like. However, one playing off mythology? Can't think of one other than AoM. A fantastic idea that worked well. That being said, I loved the Age of Mythology game and it's expansion pack to death. Unfortunately, I haven't had a computer capable of handling it for months, and as such I've been unable to play it, as much as I want to. Can't play Starcraft either, which is quite possibly the greatest RTS of all time. It's most irritating. That said, if there's one thing I will say against the game, it has to do with the storyline of the Expansion Pack. The original games story was absolutely fantastic and I loved every second of it. The Expansion Packs storyline was pretty damn good, and I was satisfied with it, but it seemed to lack that zing in certain parts that made the originals so gripping. That said, there is nothing quite like summoning a Titan to ravage the landscape. >=3 Wintastic. *dramatic thumbs up* |
