![]() Let's face it - Hollywood cashes in on the biggest craze the public loves at the moment. Penguins have definitely replaced monkeys as the Hollywood mascot, and we see that with March of the Penguins and Happy Feet. What drew me to the film was a trailer I've been seeing for months now, which made fun of themselves ("Oh no, not another penguin movie!"). And let's face it: I may be a 19-year-old male, but I love animated movies. I wanted to see what kind of approach Sony would take on this movie. Let me just cut to the chase - this movie was great. The characters were fun, the music fit and excited me (Who doesn't love Incubus and Pearl Jam?), and a lot of jokes were for the teen/adult crowd. I won't give any spoilers away, but what really made this movie was the mock documentary-style format used. Witty comments from the cameramen reminded me of the surf documentaries I've seen in the past. And really, being a surfer myself, why wouldn't I like a movie about surfing? Go see this movie or definitely rent it on DVD when it comes out.9/10. |

Pearl Jam? You, my friend, have just said the magic words! I've been seeing the trailer a lot myself, what with being in the movie theaters frequently of late. It's been showing on the reels for the past couple months. It looked funny enough, so I was intrigued. Unfortunately, I'm probably not going to see it until it comes to DVD though. My funds are left quite depleted after I purchased tickets to the Rush concert at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center and I already have two movies I absolutely have to see this month in "Live Free Die Hard" and "Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer". A similar situation caused me to miss TMNT in theaters. =/ Thankfully, there are quick turnarounds as far as movies coming to DVD these day's, so it shouldn't be too awful long before I can see it. |

No, it should come out pretty fast. And sorry to say, but I think you'll be disappointed with TMNT.
