Better. By a country mile. And that's no easy feat. The original was a fantastic game. Seriously, it blew me away. I had played great games before, even ones done in a similar style. Devil May Cry comes immediatly to mind. But never so awesomely. Blending the awesome combat of a game like Devil May Cry with the legends of Greek mythology. Tying a character into a quest rife with mythological creatures, legends and story's. On a quest to kill a god. But the second one amped everything up. It opens with a massive battle with the Colossus of Rhodes. For a lesser game, this would have been a fitting finale. But no. This is just the opening. Fighting a giant statue embued with godly powers. And the momentum never ceases. The story's possibly even better then the first games. Bringing the Titans into the mix, along with Zeus. The sisters of Fate. Everything seemed bigger and better this time around. And it had to be hard to improve on the first games storyline. That's been the strength of this series thus far. Story. It would have still kicked ass with a lesser story, but it wouldn't have packed the kind of punch it does in this game. The powers are good too. Finally, a decent long range weapon in Typhoons Bane. Atlas Quake was fun to use as well. I have to say though, that while I love Chronos Rage, I did miss Posieden's rage a couple times during this game. The sheer number of mythological monsters is staggaring. Cyclops, minotaurs, harpy's, Medusa, Eurayle, griffins, the Kraken, the Phoenix, Icarus, Cerberus, the hero Perseaus, who killed Medusa in the Greek myths. Every entrance golden. Those fought a challenge. And then the ending leaves on a cliffhanger. One so horrible that you want to strangel something. It leaves you wanting the next game immediatly, because you want to partake in the quest it promises. God of War II ramped up everything. A true marvel of a game, and worth every second of play. If this is what the guys cooked up for this one, I can't wait for God of War III. Because the quest Kratos will embark on in that one promises to be the most exciting one yet. |

I'm just wondering how they're going to exceed this sequel. |

I asked myself a similar question at the end of the first one. But dammit, they did it. And with a set up like what they have for a third, there's a good chance they could well surpass even the excellence of this one. |

~SPOLIER~ yeah but the thing i hate about the sequel is the fact that Kratos didn't kill Zeus right away. Instead stabbing him in the gut like he did, he should have chopped his head off and been done with it. But then again they need to save some stuff for the third installment. |

The original was a more spectacular treat. |

It is. The game is very intense from start to finish. Just the opening battle is epic. One of those moments that's well worth the money. The story is even better too. Trust me, you'll enjoy it. Michael Clarke Duncan as Atlas is simply epic, epic win and one of my favorite parts, as short as Atlas's appearance is. |
