Ladies and gentlemen... ever since the Joker was announced as the main villain of the sequel to Batman Begins, I was thrilled. I waited to see what the Brokeback Mountain actor would look like as the Clown Prince of Crime. I never expected it to be like this though. Everybody... I give you the first glance of Heath Ledger as the Joker in the Dark Knight.

Image isn't showing up. But being truthful, niether is your signature Soni, so it may just be my computer. Some days this damn thing just doesn't seem to want to load your signature. Thankfully, however, I have seen the image that was put up on the internet at an earlier date. I'm not particularly sure what to make of it. I suppose it would fit if they go with the typical origin, since, you know, acid burns. But I'm not sure whether or not I'm particularly fond of this look. It's more realistic, I suppose, but messing with something that isn't broke sometimes tends to be a bad idea. Admittedly, it will come down to the acting. Whether Heath Ledger is up to the task of portraying the Clown Prince of Crime is is going to be the real question. And I'm a Batman freak. If he f*cks up, I'm going to know, and you can damn well expect an angry tirade. That said, looks, no matter what anyone tells you, is still generally a decent factor in things, and I'm not sure I'm fond of this look. It reminds me of when they completely changed the look of the Joker for The Batman. Why the hell do you want to screw with something that is great to begin with? Who knows. I'm going to attempt to reserve judgement until I see some of it in action. |

Well... actually, yeah, that would be a bad mistake on my part. I shouldn'tve hotlinked to the site, and as for my sig, ImageShack may have considered the image outdated. Well... I guess that's true. I've had it for a while now, and I should consider getting a new one from Crazygurl.
The peeps at Warner Bros. said they wanted to go for the Joker that was in the Killing Joke graphic novel, as well as the character's first two appearances in comics ever. ... Okay, I've never read any of those books, but I can tell you right now, I know history enough to know that Joker never had a Glasgow-style smile. Damn b*stards... |

I've seen the picture... ouch it looks rather painfull. Is heath at least going to be smiling instead of how it looks here? Joker ain't the Joker if he himself ain't smiling. |
