Honestly, SatAM's a really good show to me. Even after all of these years, my favourite episodes are the last few episodes of the series which focused on Robotnik's Doomsday Project. They really showed Robotnik's hatred for Sonic. I'm not sure if he died, but his last words proved that he cared nothing more than to destroy that hedgehog that kept ruining his plans.

"I really hate that hedgehog. I hate him. I hate him! HATE HIM! Hate. Hate! HATE!! HAAAAAAAAAAAAATE!!!"

EDIT: Okay, I don't really want this topic to die, mostly because the Sonic fanboy in me told me to keep this topic going. Soooo, ummm....

Favourite characters of the series, everybody? And no, I don't mean favourite character to play as. I mean, favourite character overall.

Hmm, my favorite character? Knuckles. or Sonic. eh, both.

I do have my own history of sonic game-playing, but it's long and complicated and i'll post it later XD.

It's tough to say what my favorite is, to be honest. Tails, Sonic and Knuckles always took the cake for me, even when other characters came in later, like Shadow.

But if I had to choose just one, I'd probably have to go with Knuckles. Gliding was always a blast, as was climbing up wall's, and his gameplay was different enough to make him like the others, yet his own experience. The branching pathway's were great too.

Tails, for me, both in gameplay and otherwise. I have always been a true-blue Tails fan. Heck, I still have this stuffed toy from when I was eight or so of the two-tailed fox. In terms of gameplay, he was one of the best characters to use to explore every nook and cranny of the zone. Not only that, but he could swim, and the "carry" he could do with Sonic was fun to use. Not only that, but he is the ultimate cheat code in multiple player action, since he can't die. ^_^ Comic wise, I have always loved the younger characters in a group. For example, I like Yahiko from RK, Jim Hawking in Outlaw Star, and those are just a few.

I've always been one for very evil villains or dark hero types. So it doesn't take an IQ of 300 to figure out that I'm a big fan of such characters Shadow, or Vincent from FFVII. (But hey, Eggman's got an IQ of 300 anyway, so yeah. XD )

But yeah, my ultimate favourite Sonic character would have to be Shadow. Okay, you may commence moaning and groaning now. XDD

Now, WHY do I like peeps like Shadow so much? Ehh... I dunno. I guess partly because I grew up watching a lot of comedic stuff, and I wanted to see what such franchises as Ratchet & Clank or Calvin and Hobbes would be like if they had a bit more drama/angst added to them. It's also partly because I kind of relate to Shadow in a way, in that it took me a couple years to get over my grandmother's passing.

In games that he's appeared in after Shadow the Hedgehog, it's clear to see that his attitude's brightening up a bit. How so?

Shadow's an unlockable racer in Sonic Riders, though he has no part in the story. Now, why would he waste his time to take part in the EX World Grand Prix? Well, to feed his ego of course. Shadow is just as egotistical as his blue, happy-go-lucky counterpart.

In Sonic the Hedgehog, there are no mentions made about his past at all. Hell, is even mourning over anything involving his past? He's not emo anymore. He's just an agent of G.U.N. doing his job.

In Sonic Rivals, again, he's not mourning over Maria's death. He gets a distress call from Eggman, and takes the time to save the doctor's sorry ass.

Shadow's an unlockable playable character in the Party mode of Sonic and the Secret Rings. ... Okay, given the Party mode has NOTHING to do with the story of Sonic and the Secret Rings whatsoever, but ask this. Why is Shadow, a very dark character, participating in a bunch of wacky minigames? Again, I say it's to feed his ego, to prove that he can beat people at a lot of different things. Now you might say, "Sure, but the Party mode doesn't seem fit for Shadow at all." Well, suppose Shadow's decided to have some more fun in his life. What would you say to that?

Even after Shadow had decided to stop letting the past control him, he's still got some noticeable dark qualities in his appearance and personality. What can I say? I like the dark anti-heroes. :D

EDIT: June 23rd, 2007. ... ... Could it be? ... It is!!!

HAPPY 16TH BIRTHDAY, SONIC!!!
