Your story is pretty much like mine, Soni.

My sisters and I were, about a year or two ago, playing through Sonic 3 and Knuckles again. Yeah, I still own the Genesis. I'm proud of it actually. Anyway, we had beat the game long ago as Knuckles. He just busts through everything, after all. I was surfing the web to try and figure out how to get past the barrel as Tails.

Lo and behold, I saw it on a site, and nearly cried at how simple the solution had been to the one puzzle that had eluded me in all video game history. Naturally, I used it, it worked, and I felt stupid for a while. Jeez...the pluse side is that I beat finally beat the game as someone other than Knuckles.

Yeah, the barell was definitely a little much as far as puzzles go. A great big meh.

And I do believe Sonic Chaos was indeed the first to give us the flying Tails. I think you might like Sonic Triple Trouble too, Changeling.

The Game Gear games are kinda hit and miss. There are some gems, some mediocres and the ones only worth a playthrough. Seriously. I played the Sonic Drift's maybe three times total. It's alright, but there isn't much to it. It reminds me of those little boxes you used to get as a kid with a stick that controlled the bike inside the box, and the "obstacles" were on a rolling paper thing. You guys probably know what I mean. Sonic Blast was just bleaugh compared to any of the other Sonics, even it's Genesis counterpart.

I would love to play Triple Trouble. Too bad the Mega Collection didn't carry it. I would gladly have handed over Sonic Blast for it. I played Sonic Drift and hated it. Maybe it had to do something with how bad I was with driving and controlling my car, but I found it a bit meh.

Oh... that's right. Sorry. I forgot that the Mega Collection didn't carry it.

I have all the Game Gear games thanks to Sonic Adventure DX for the Gamecube. When you complete goals, you unlock a Sonic Game Gear game. It actually has every one of Sonic's Game Gear games on it. I forgot it was Sonic Adventure DX and not the Mega Collection.

Oh well. At least you have the PS2 Mega Collection. Which means yours has Comix Zone. Mine's the Gamecube version, so mine doesn't have Comix Zone. T_T

Oh hey Comix Zone! that was a pretty good game :D

There was this one Sonic game that really could've turned the tide of all the Sonic releases, it was called Sonic Xtreme, a canned game (with an incredible backstory) that was developed by Sega institute of america.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sonic_X-treme

I wonder what would've happened to the rest of the SA series if that was released. It would've probably stayed the same perhaps, but Sega of America would definetely have had more backbone in terms of shaping the blue blur. o.o

Yeah, Comix Zone rocks. It's a very hard game though. Not for the faint of heart. Your health was always depleting, and if you died you had to start completely over. Still, it was almost cinematic in it's presentation, and I loved how each comic panel was your area to fight your enemy's, then to progress, you leapt to another panel. It's a gem that's pretty much been forgotten, considering it came out around the time the 16-bit systems were being left behind and it's extreme difficulty.

Sonic Xtreme. I remember that one. The ever elusive Saturn Sonic game. That one was delayed more than the apocalypse. I used to follow it back when it was still being developed. I wasn't exactly a huge Saturn fan, because being honest, they didn't have a whole hell of a lot good on it, but that was a game that had my interest and might have had me get the Saturn.

Still remember when it was cancelled. Dissapointing. It would have been the first 3D Sonic game (Sonic Jam doesn't count). Only Sonic game the Saturn got of it's own was Sonic R, a decent, if flawed, game. To Sonic R's credit, though, it had a fantastic soundtrack, and picking up the items mid-race was a pretty interesting wrinkle.

I'm not sure if much more backbone would have helped Sega. Like I said before, Sega doesn't seem to even be really trying with many of their Sonic games anymore. They've had minor improvements over the years since Adventure 2, and all of them weren't enough to fix an experience that needs a reworking and some polish.

I'm hoping they rework a lot of things for the next one. Apparently, the Wii Sonic game is good, which gives me hope, but the regular 3D games need a serious overhaul. They don't have to scrap everything, but they definitely need to retool the games and send them through a far more rigerous beta testing.

To me, noone can f**k with Sonic CD. It's simply one of the best games ever made. Never could get past that one wacky workshop or whatever. I have it for PC, but it wont download on my new computer for some reason.

I also love Secret Rings. Didn't take me too long to get the hang of it. My favourite part is the boss battles and the ending credits song "Worth a Chance" has to be one of the coolest soft songs ever written. I'm pretty sure Sonic has the best music.
This signature dosen't make any sence

and neither does ths apple.

Which Act? The second one? Well, I must admit I had some problems with it myself. You can get through it by just continuosly bouncing to the right, but the walls and platforms above make it tough. Best way to get through it is to use the platforms near the bottom, usually just above the springy floor.

And the Sonic games, even the 3D ones with all their faults, do indeed tend to have simply awesome music. That I agree with.

*looks at Soni's post*

I'm sensing a pattern here.

A pattern. Most of the things you named off as your favorites were music themes from the game. XD

There was no point. Just making an observation of the pattern. The music is obviously your favorite from the game, as it's most of what you stated.

Okay yeah, so I like the music the most out of all of the games in the series. :D

Weird thing about the Secret Rings music though (especially the main theme song of the game) is that it all reminds me of Power Rangers. XDD God... I always had a little dislike for that show, because that's the show that booted SatAM off the air.

I can't say I'm as fond of SatAM as I once was. I'm sad to say that it's one of those shows best left to your memories. One of the ones that, when you watch them again after all those years, they don't hold up and aren't as great as you remembered. I had that happen to a couple other shows before...

Power Rangers I liked as a kid. It was laughably corny. Laughably. But I liked it. It's not a terrible show by any means. The original series I mean. Just horribly corny and has had way too many spin offs. It just needs to end. Seriously, I'm totally convinced Bandai is determined to squeeze every red cent they can out of the franchise at this point.

On a side note, I really need to find a Wii. >_<
