![]() The diclonious are creatures that were genetically altered by Humans; Side effects for this include horns and a "sixth sense." This power is actually invisible hands that come from their backs. They are called vectors, which can move so fast that they can cut through almost anything -- Even human bodies. "By the time the Diclonious is 3 years of age, they develop an urge to kill," is what the scientists that capture Dicloniouses say. That's why when they are born, the diclonious is either killed, or taken to a secret labratory where they run inhuman tests on them. Because of the way Humans treat dicloniouses, they seem to develop a split personality. (AKA, evil and not evil.) The diclonious have a type of virys, and if they spread it to a human, that human's child will be born as a diclonious. A certain diclonious with a poor past named Lucy, was born to destroy the human race. But when she slaughterd most of the guards to escape the labratory, she was shot by a sniper gun. Fortuanatly for her, her metal helmet, which came off after she was shot, protected her from the bullet killing her. The unconcious girl fell into the ocean, and washed up on the beach as her other personality, Nyu. She was found by two Cousins, Kouta and Yuka, there. Not a very good description, but good enough I guess. This anime is awsome, and I was wondering if anyone else liked it here? Elfen Lied Trailor (English) |

I've seen the entire thing. It's a very good anime. Our resident member blueflamie is the one who showed it to me. =) The only real problem with it is the anime kinda drops off leaving some things unexplained. It's kinda disheartening. that and the second fight with Bando is completely skipped over. We just see him go after Lucy and then see him defeated again. Meh. I'm hoping eventually someone will pick up the manga for translation and circulation here in America. The manga isn't over here yet, and I want to read it. =/ |

I got to like, episode 6, before my mom saw me and was like, "you didn't get approval from me, I have to watch that first, close the window." Kouta is way better off with Nyuu than Yuka. Yuka is too...jealous. And if it weren't for the nudity, watching Elfen Lied wouldn't be as awkward. Most of the references are funny, though. (Cough, episode two, shorts, cough.) |

It's gonna show HERE?! America with it's TV paranoia and conservatives?!?! It'll probably be rated NC-17. That rating would work. Anyway, this show has no shy points whatsoever. And I've only seen the AMVs. (Partly thanks to you, Haloe. ^__l) Yikes, and I thought the violence in Princess Mononoke was bad... And nudity-wise, let's just say that Jiraiya would love the show just for that. |

Carrie Kelly in Damien's Batman Posse The resident Disney Otaku of TBRS The Insane Girl With The Multiple Personality Disorder I have kisses for you. . . . . . even when you are crabby - My feelings for this site summed up into one loldogs picture. <3 Except Al; I'm very close to genuinely hating him. | |

(^^ Thank you) And I've seen the entire thing in english, I also have the dvd in english and japanese. Youtube USED to have it in English, but apparently they deleted it for some odd reason. This anime is so hardcore, that even Adult swim can't show it, and because it's finished, I don't think any other tv program would show it. Well, not that I've seen at least. Yes, the nudity in Elfen lied does make it very awkward. But, you get used to it quickly, along with the violence and blood. Very much blood is included. It is also very tragic. (AIR TV is even more tragic, though. ^_~) Spazz, you've only seen up to episode 6?! But the real thing doesn't start 'till episode 8!!! :[ Well, I'm sorry. Mabey you can just watch so many AMVs of it that you can figure out what happend. Technically, your not watching the show, your watching music videos of the show. W.I.T.C.H and Blueflamie both got me interested in it; I'm glad they did, too. The manga, I found a place where you can download it, but it doesn't seem to work on my computer. I can give you the link if you want, DL. I'm sure it's in english, too. |

The material was continually flagged for being too violent, plus it was licensed material. (YouTube is being sued for having licensed material, by the way.) If you want episodes in Japanese with English subtitles, use Yahoo videos. I have gotten farther than episode six now. I have made my way to episode ten and I am waiting for the right time to sneak in the remaining three episodes. Kohta and Lucy are SO meant for each other. |

Wow, actually I talked with someone about that anime just a couple days ago, its supposed to be a very good examination on human nature. A couple months ago, one of my buds wanted me to see the gory parts of Elfen Lied, At first I thought it was a generic anime, outlined in blood and guts. But now that I've read up on it I'm thinking of giving it a watch. mm, elfen lied...elf song. |

I'm watching episode 4 right now. It's. Awesome. <3 Such an orginal plot! Though I don't really like the theme song that much. And the violence can make you a bit queasy. X_x It's not real, Selene....it's not real.... |

Oh come on! The violence isn't THAT bad. XD Of course, this is coming from a guy who regularly watches a show based pretty much around the concepts of beheadings making another even stronger, so take that any way you want. =P But as far as I'm concerned, mo' voilence, mo' betta'! =O |

Yes. Yes you are. =P In all seriousness, trust me, I've seen worse. Though, admittedly, this isn't hard, as I tend to like horrorish moves and the like. I've got a pretty high tolerance for the stuff. But then again, I'm also a man, so... *shrugs* Last time I actually flinched during one was during Saw, near the end of the movie. When the doctor can't reach the cell phone and he knows if he doesn't answer it his wife and kid die. So he panics and saws his foot off as his shackled companion freaks out at the sight. the whole scene was so well done atmospherically that I actually cringed. That's a pretty impressive sign for me. |
